Perth:
“Up to 5,000 drop in seats on all four sides of the boundary. Permanent seating is raised approximately 1.5m from ground level ensuring the drop-in seats can be added without comprising the fan experience.
Unobstructed, quality views of the field of play.
12 hour turn around time to install or remove drop in seats.
Design meets Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), International Rugby Board (IRB) and Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) standards and requirements.”

'Sucks for rugby': Fans up in arms over Wallabies news, Rennie ready for Eddie ploys

Mea culpa. I mistook Malo’s ambiguity for that of a troll ( after all there any number of sports that are more readily available to watch free to air in addition to nrl and aflw)
Let me fix it for him/her . . .
“It’s easier to watch women’s afl and nrl free to air than Super rugby. Ra’s broadcasting deal with Stan is a complete joke and it’s short-sightedness will fail to grow a broad and inter generational following”

The Wrap: Brilliant Hurricanes and Blues show how private equity money should be spent

If you are going to patronise women’s afl and nrl, pray tell, what do you consider easy watching?

THIS, this, this. 100 upticks.
The outcome we are trying to achieve is ‘Service to Australian rugby’. The criteria needs to be years / caps across the domestic tiers. International representation is merely a ‘lag’ measure.
Imagine. Born and bred in Australia, played 5+ years SR, go overseas. Reach career best performance. But be excluded from wallabies selection. Verses, come to Australia, fulfil residency, recruited strait into wallabies. It seems unfair and counter productive.
Have a criteria that is fit for purpose. Simply Wallaby caps attained has no internally consistent logic.

RA's strategy to replace Giteau Law for eligibility puts pressure on Rennie, RWC hopefuls

Ah! So the Kiwis self belief wasn’t sufficiently deep and the Pakistanis self belief too brittle.

Or could it be game plan, tactics, skill, knowing your role better than the opposition that won the day.

Or plain luck.

(Writing opinion pieces requires a high level of ‘self belief’ I’ll grant) 😉

The mantra that shaped Australia’s World Cup triumph

Can’t wait for Eddie’s ‘phoney war’ rankle. Or maybe for once poking the bear he would consider unseemly if not counter productive ?

Boks 'goodwill burned to ashes' by 'common thug': World reacts to Erasmus verdict, Rennie's support for Berry

Ok, moot point – how about “around which their number 1 ranking has been secured”.

Regardless, the Boks look irrepressible at the moment and their front row team looks head and shoulders above others.

But my point is, the POTY framing does not leave as much scope for front rowers nomination given their comparatively lesser game time and position sharing.

'Laughable': Salty South Africans react as two Wallabies and no Boks make POTY shortlist

Front rows ‘plural’. So all six. I’m not being entirely facetious. They’ve generally been pretty awesome this year, and have been the reliable platform around which the Bok’s dominance has been built.

'Laughable': Salty South Africans react as two Wallabies and no Boks make POTY shortlist

The Bok props (front rows even) should collectively get the POTY award. It’s stacked against them to get it individually. But they are a stand out!

NZ, Pumas and Boks to prevail because they consistently play better rugby than their opponents.

One of Fiji and Aus to prevail, because on their day either are capable of a mugging of their opponents. Fiji if their jaw dropping talent gels. Wallabies if their finishing improves. Both are big ifs.

But one of the games this weekend has to be one for the romantics. I hope it is the wallabies given their selection discontinuities this season and not the Scots, a team who will also be daring to dream.

It’s ironic that having ditched the Giteau rule the Wallabies are still having to select a team that looks more B team than A team. Will we ever see a full strength Wallabies ever again otherwise this ‘inferiority complex’ will be difficult to shed.

Eddie Jones worried about Aussie 'inferiority complex'

Nick, stick to your guns. As a member of the Fourth Estate you have an important role in keeping the game’s administrators and officials to account – refs included.

B, What is the use of a tmo if they still get it wrong?

Absolutely, TMO should be ensuring bloopers are eliminated. Yes there will always be line ball calls, but the TMO should be helping catch blatant transgressions.

You aren't imagining it... proof the Wallabies were hard done by

. . . especially when the Ref has the benefit of a TMO replay and advice to assist them get the decision right.

DA – the point of the DR reference is that it depends. There are many variables and assumptions at play – some known, some unknown. I heard a report that highly vaccinated Israel who are advanced in rolling out third doses and have world class medical facilities are reimposing restrictions because of rising infections and hospitalisations. Which if true, is of concern . . .

FB – I think professor Tim Spector of King’s College would agree with you on that – his weekly assessments on the uk situation I find most illuminating. But he is not everyone’s cup of tea.

FB – no not rude, just a tad patronising. My observations of Covid so far is that it has repeatedly outwitted humanity.

Knowing what is an acceptable death rate vis a vis economic imperatives is a fraught moral debate. I’d admit that I’m probably a victim of my own information bubble and local government propaganda, but it does not seem unreasonable for me to wear a mask and avoid crowds when I can even where there are high rates of vaccination. Treating covid with caution is the least I can do til the evidence is sufficiently compelling that we can do otherwise.

Donald Rumsfeld has the permutations on that.

Tony, that scoreline implies Wallabies not scoring a try. It is not often that happens even when the wallabies are walloped. I’d respectfully suggest you are over-rating the Scot’s defensive abilities even if they end up on the right side of the ledger.

Even Italy scored a try against them in the last 6 nations. Curiously, the English didn’t, so maybe you are on to something . . .

Returning Wallaby feels 'a bit bad' about slotting straight into starting XV

‘Railroaded’ might be closer in intended meaning but does not quite work either – implies a certain level of coercion. He has definitely been ‘fast-tracked’ though, but there is no queue as such.

The best thing about the November lead up to an ashes series downunder is that you don’t need to go local repertory theatre for Christmas pantomime. “Where’s Warnie”?, “He’s behind you”!.

. . . a veritable freight train!

WALLABIES TEAM: Izaia Perese debuts, Rory Arnold starts, as Beale and Skelton also named to face Scotland

FB – it’s all relative. From where I sit, the UK, but more particularly England, appear to have a far more ‘laissez faire’ approach to controlling the pandemic than many others in the developed world. But without being there it’s hard to know how people culturally are responding to safe behaviours as opposed to the listed mandates. However, I was pretty surprised watching the Scotland Tonga how many were not wearing mask’s regardless of vaccination rates. Where I live with zero cases you can’t go to a public event or indoors without a mask and checkin.

And here is the contradiction- I am looking forward to watching these games with the atmosphere that full uk stadiums provide. The best public service the tourists can provide will be to silence the crowds. 😛

Yes, and although it’s up to them, they potentially clog up the hospitals which is not good for everyone else.

But I acknowledge it is a wicked problem with no easy answers.

I happen to live in a zero covid jurisdiction so easy to comment from afar – but our reckoning is not far away. . . 🤢

In the UK it appears to be a free for all for everyone.
