Since the Roosters fans were very keen on us supporting them in 2018 because they were the NSW team, I am sure they will 100% be behind Penrith 😛

NRL prelim finals talking points: Why Broncos have the firepower to give Penrith a run for their money

I felt the same. I had not seriously entertained the idea of the threepeat until that night. If we could come back and win that game, then anything would be possible.
My attitude is to respect all, fear none. I do not doubt that Melbourne can win Noone is unbeatable. I want Penrith to win.
Guess we will know on Friday night.

The Watchback: How the Storm gave the Panthers a massive fright - and how they can do it again

This exactly. Even when they win Trent Robinson finds something to whinge about. If it wasn’t for the superlative sooking by Ricky Stuart, he’d have the title.

It is never his team’s fault, they never have to change anything about their game… excuse after excuse.

And just like Mr Stuart, he is a media darling and is never called to account…

Not this Panther fan.. the possiblity of achieving something not done in 40 years, the closeness of the competition meaning that it could totally not happen… I don’t know any Panther fan who thinks this post-Origin part of the season is meh!! I

Meh naah: This NRL season stuck in the doldrums of post-Origin purgatory

He is the very heart of our team.
Not disruptive. Unselfish. His team mates love him.
Pretty much every Panther fan I know wants him to stay. So hopefully you won’t have to suffer the indignity of him playing for your team.
We’ll live without you liking us.

So overrated he's underrated: lucrative deal awaits polarising Panther Luai wherever he signs next

I am not confusing anything.

Jarome has particular musical tastes. He likes to dress a certain way. He admires US sportspeople and he is big into his gaming and anime. Facts.

He is also a long term partner and a father of 3 small childred. Facts.

This ‘gangster lifestyle’ stuff is absolute bullsh$t.Just because they said it on NRL360 doesn’t make it true. That narrative arose there and we all know which ‘journalist’ started it.

So overrated he's underrated: lucrative deal awaits polarising Panther Luai wherever he signs next

The ‘gangster lifestyle’?

You mean the one where he has the same long term partner he has had since he was a teenager and three small children?

The one where his insta story this very morning has him and one said small child digging in the garden of their new home?

And here I was with a completely different idea of the ‘gangster lifestyle’! You learn soething new every day.

You know what I mean! Of course there was a whole Queensland competition. One that was very much the little brother of the NSWRL. If Queenslanders wanted to succeed they came to Sydney.

Origin was never about the best of the best. It was a rep team that brought back Qlders.
And that is exactly my point – Origin is for Queensland.

And I would argue that we don’t even need Origin. I would like to think that we have all grown up and that the International game is the pinnacle.

The excitement is gone - State of Origin is a damp squib

I will preface this by saying that I have always loved Origin. I go to games – I wear the silly blue wig. I watch the abominable channel 9 commentary.

Origin was created for Queensland. After a time where Queenslanders faced off against fellow Queenslanders in NSW colours, time all the teams were from NSW and players had to come to Sydney to have a career, Queensland deserved it.

The Amco Cup, City v Country and Origin were all an opportunity for players to be seen. Origin gave Queenslanders players to be proud of because they were Queenslanders. It allowed Wally Lewis to start a legendary career without having to move to Sydney.

It was a time before there were any Queensland teams.

NSW didn’t need Origin. In a NSW-centric competition, people identified with their teams and rivalry was across suburban lines rather than state lines. Queenslanders in your team were just players in your team.

I have seen people say that for them it’s Queensland, Australia then their club team. I think in NSW it’s Club team first – that is why we don’t ‘get ‘ Origin.

That is the reason why everyone proclaimed that Origin would be dead if NSW kept winning and yet it survived and flourished with 8 on the trot Queensland. No Queensland success = no Origin.

We now have 4 Queensland teams, a Melbourne team and a Kiwi team. Players are no longer just from Queensland or the bush – our talent pool doesn’t just identify as Queensland or NSW. Origin is no longer the ‘best of the best’ because it excludes way more than it includes. Eligibilty is confusing.

Rugby League is now bigger than if you are a Queenslander or a New South Welshman.

If the NRL wants to expand across Australia and further in to NZ and ther Pacific, you can’t have a centerpiece that excludes the very areas you are trying to grow.

We no longer have the Amco Cup or City v Country. Origin hasn’t been a serious audition for test selection for years. Players are selected as much on their form in season.

Origin is over 40 years old. It’s been a huge success and we’ve all enjoyed it ( even when our team has lost). Maybe it is time for it to bow out with a flourish rather than fading away?

The excitement is gone - State of Origin is a damp squib

I have missed scary Penrith! I was having 2019 flashbacks… left side clicked on Friday night. Sorenson filling the Kiks made such a difference. He and Jarome seem to have figured it out finally.

ANALYSIS: Luai picks perfect moment to make Origin case, but Robbo's Roosters are a rabble - and they've lost JWH and Manu

We all have players like that in opposition teams (hell’s Tyrone May was in my own team and I couldn’t stand him).. there is a certain halfback in another western Sydney team that, to me, has the most slappable face in rugby league! However he doesn’t appear to have offended the sensibilities of the old blokes on NRL 360 so there is no one pushing that agenda to get people on my side…

I live in hope that the discussion around this game is about how awesome the Knights were and how much they have improved and how great it was to have so many fans at the ground and how Panthers won ugly and how that is what good teams can do.

It’s not a hope based in anything – the Fox agenda will be Jarome’s hair. Cos that is what rugby league journalism is now.

Apparently not. I suspect Mick Ennis is still doing it from the comfort of the commentary box to this day…

Mitchell Moses and co need to give it a rest

We refer to that as ‘Mick Ennis Puppet Arm Syndrome’ . So named because Ennis was the master of the flailing arms. It’s rife in the NRL and Moses and Gutherson have particularly severe cases.

Mitchell Moses and co need to give it a rest

Repeated infringments. Ref had already told Nathan that we were giving away too many 6 agains and that if it continued someone would go.

'Weak-gutted dog!': Salmon scores 'karma' try as Panthers put 50 on Raiders, Sticky apologises to fans

Moses Leota… he just picked up the slack when we lost Fish, as did Spencer and Lindsay. Now that Dylan Edwards has been recognised, Moses is the new most underrated player at Penrith.

'Weak-gutted dog!': Salmon scores 'karma' try as Panthers put 50 on Raiders, Sticky apologises to fans

Watch NRL360 turn the whole thing into outrage over the behaviour of Jaemon Salmon and Penrith as a group so they don’t have to address the fact that it was the ninth try in a complete drubbing.

NRL journalism is all outrage and agendas.

Doesn’t matter. It happened in our house.

Could charge the person if they want to – legal age of criminal responsibility in NSW is 10 years old.

There is that but again. You actually are saying that you feel Penrith players are responsible and you list the reasons why. You can see that, right?
Do I always like the way individual players in my team behave? No. And I am quite prepared to call them on it ( for what little good it does). They certainly aren’t celebrated in the media or on line. Ever read twitter or watched NRL360?
Kids aren’t learning racism from the players. They live in a community. They have parents. If my kid says something or acts in a way that is against our values then we address it. That is what parenting is.
My Boyo has been watching games for forever and he has been attending since he was about 6. He is a Bulldog fan, so he has seen some behaviour, and he has never emulated any of it because he knows right from wrong.
Racism goes beyond disrespect. Any type of villification goes beyond disrespect. The best thing we as a community of rugby league supporters can do is call it out and actively do not engage in that sort of behaviour. Everyone who comes to Penrith needs to see the fan base actively standing up to this sort of behaviour and supporting consequences for this kind of action.

I love that description of him! Fish gets a lot of plaudits, so Moses is often overlooked. Absolute workhorse.

Several players have posted on their social media in support of Latrell.

Panthers supporter here.

I don’t care if it happens at other grounds. It happened at ours. There is never any excuse for racism and I totally support Latrell taking it as far as it can go. Actions have consequences. If this is a kid, then both the kid and parent need to take responsibility.

A blight on what was a great game between two teams that have developed a genuine rivalry.

We need to be better Panther Fans.

Earlier this year Souths & Penrith played at Penrith and we booed him when he was taking a kick at goal.. he took it in very good humour and even had a little false start for his kick before slotting it between the posts. He laughed and we laughed. It was normal ‘boo the kicker’ fan behaviour that happens at every game. Just like we boo the opposition when the teams are read out ( and it would be so much easier if they read each team out in full instead of alternating!)… nothing personal in it. Apart from the example given in the article ( ‘dirty play’), there is absolutely no reason that Panther fans would boo him or any of his team mates in general play. There is no ‘history’ with us.

Latrell is so talented and I enjoy watching him ( more so when he isn’t playing my team)!

I am looking forward to a really good game of football between two very good teams on Saturday night.

Booing Latrell doesn’t necessarily make you racist, but it probably makes you a jerk

The booing of Tino was an amazing committment – from warm up to 45 seconds from full time… I actually think it hurt his heart a little bit. Being part of a team being booed is a bit differnet to having it directed only at you.

I am so happy for my Bulldog Boyo that the Dogs are finally having a party!! He’s supported the team since he was 5 years old and has been a Kennel member for nearly 10 years. Rain, hail or shine, he has been there for it all! It’s been hard for him having a mum who supports Penrith! We have huge soft spots for each other’s team and weeked where we both win is always welcome.

We’ve seen a few teams begin their rise with getting the attack right – being able to outscore the opposition is a valid way to win. The defence will come. Casey stepped up for Averillo ( who has been a revelation at fullback) but inexperience can be forgiven when you win.. Kiraz and Schoupp have got the Bulldog spirit. I would love to see Topine in first grade – the way he leads the team song is wonderful.

JAC and Burto have a great combo and even poor old Kyle seems to be fitting in!

There are good things ahead for the blue and white. Boyo and I lng fo rthe day when we are sitting at opposite ends of the ground as the Bulldogs and Panthers fight it out for a premiership.
