Because I was calling out the dull xenophobia of the group he clearly belongs to. Without checking I’ll bet the most liked comments after his will be the same. You can always bet on the lowest common denominator to be among the first to chirp up, and among the most liked in the playground.

Hope that helps.

No.

UK View: 'The moral victory is real' - Poms revel in Pat's 'failure', downfall of 'dastardly' and 'scared' Aussies

After everything that has been served up to you over the entire series by both sides, this is your dull and predictable summation. Says everything about you, and those like you. Jog on mate.

Pot. Kettle.

Bairstow 99, Wood's triple strike crush Aussies as series hangs on incoming Manchester downpour

How you don’t see the irony in your comments is beyond me.

Bairstow 99, Wood's triple strike crush Aussies as series hangs on incoming Manchester downpour

Sure. Five English batters out score Australia’s best bat so far, and a sixth equals it. We must have the lucky country all wrong.

Geez some of you guys love to throw the arrogant word around needlessly.

Stokes leads a team that seeks a result regardless. It’s been very successful, including in one of the hardest places to win (Pakistan), icluding on a pitch tailor made for no result. His decisions are not arrogant. They are winning this test because of that approach, and they will lose it (and likely the series) due to the weather. Both previous tests could have gone either way, and despite a lot of horn blowing on here pre series about this Aussie team, the sides are pretty evenly matched, with different strengths.

And they didn’t promote ‘a bowler/batter to see off the new ball’ at 3, they were forced into a change because their 3 got injured, and Moeen stuck his hand up.

UK View: 'A stinker, total disintegration, bewildered, lost the plot' - Cummins cops it for captaincy calamities

On here two down cobber. But still great to be back. It’s always challenging.

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

Your first sentence has comedy value only – which kind of sums up the worth of the sentence.

Archer, Stone and Carse would all be ahead of Togue if available to pick. And have the added advantage of still being alive, if unfortunately just as useful at the moment.

What is Australia’s injury list for this series?

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

What are you talking about? The evidence has been laid out before you. Pace worries this Australian outfit. A bowler returning from extended Test absences and one from nowhere has already shown that. Of course it’s entirely reasonable to suggest an available Archer would make a significant impact.

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

The weather changes, the pitch changes, the ball gets changed, people get dropped before making significant scores …and, and ,and. The original post I replied to here talked only about a weather change being significant. See my point yet? Anybody??

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

This very much feels like you’re having an argument about something else, with someone else. However, the last two points;

I saw a lot of people on here and elsewhere paralleling McGrath and Lyons injuries as series significant. It happened, and remains a rediculous comparison. If this series goes against Australia by some miracle, then it will likely become folklore.

If conditions were a factor in England’s win, then Root dropping the most regulation of regulation slip catches with Marsh on 12 and Australia in serious strife, was a much bigger factor in us all staying up later than we really needed to last night.

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

Hmm. Must have conveniently forgotten Archer’s previous Ashes series where he came back from an injury and his two sixfers were massive in the only two tests England won. What’s Jye’s record look like in England Ashes series lately?

Olly Stone may not have played a test in a while but Tongue had never played one – and we all saw what even a bit of rooky pace did to Australia.

They’re both big misses, and big plusses for Australia’s chances. But we could always talk about the weather …

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

Nor should Bairstow be.

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

In all three tests (and the two yet to come) England have been missing two significant fasts in Archer and Stone, and their preferred spin option. Which in part is why the also had to rush Anderson back from injury (and it shows). Their captain and all rounder is on one good leg and a restricted ‘one rounder’, and their preffered no.3 is also now out for the remainder of the series with a dislocated shoulder. They’ve also chosen not to pick a proper wicket keeper for good measure.

So can we all please stop banging on about conditions and a single bowler being unavailable. It sounds like whining.

UK View: Aussies suffer ‘poetic justice’ for Bairstow incident as England deliver huge ‘psychological blow’

Nope. 90% Ben Foakes.

Yep, as I’ve previously stated, both correct. Move on.

'Acting like they're the greatest team': Pietersen tells England players to quit whingeing as Root cries foul over Bairstow

Sure, understand that, but my point is this stuff has been back and forth since at least body line, and I can guarantee you that claiming the high ground and charges of hypocrisy will change ends forever into the future of the fixture. It’s the nature of things. There will be no ultimate winner. So why not just put the kettle on and enjoy the newly spiced comp.

Unless, of course, outrage is your thing.

'Acting like they're the greatest team': Pietersen tells England players to quit whingeing as Root cries foul over Bairstow

Nope. Both were correctly given out. A lot of people on here uneccesarily clutching their pearls over one or the other. Hypocrisy and hysteria everywhere. Just celebrate we have a proper Ashes now with real spice ….it was all a bit too nice previously.

'Acting like they're the greatest team': Pietersen tells England players to quit whingeing as Root cries foul over Bairstow

Mate, first of all, it’s a comments site.

Second, I’m not having a crack at happy Aussies.

Third, I don’t feel the need to make myself feel better about the result.

Finally, I’m not defending everything English, I’m calling out their media ( although I’m equally calling out media types in general by inference ).

But apart from that. Good post.

UK View: 'He didn't look like a leader. He looked pathetic' - Cummins caned but Poms also skewer 'dozy' Bairstow

By this stuff, no. But happy for you to be.

UK View: 'He didn't look like a leader. He looked pathetic' - Cummins caned but Poms also skewer 'dozy' Bairstow

Because they aren’t selling anything. If you’re ‘entertained’ by apoplexic media, who’s the mug?

UK View: 'He didn't look like a leader. He looked pathetic' - Cummins caned but Poms also skewer 'dozy' Bairstow

Bairstow was out. It’s the rule. And one he is well aware of as he’s played to it himself a number of times.

Rules is rules.

'Biggest load of rubbish': Starc catch controversy fires up McGrath as Aussies on verge of victory after Lyon's heroic knock

I don’t have an argument. He was correctly given ‘not out’ according to the correct interpretation of the laws. Let’s celebrate that. The rest is fundamentally whataboutism.

'Biggest load of rubbish': Starc catch controversy fires up McGrath as Aussies on verge of victory after Lyon's heroic knock

Rules are the antithesis of farce. With respect, you are ranting nonsence.
