2001 is the only GF I have attended live. Can’t remember much of the game anymore but do recall my mad Essendon supporter friend walking out in a sook during the third quarter when it went south for the Bombers. Followed by laughter from myself and our other mate.
Also recall James Hird’s fairly ungracious losing speech and a comment along the lines that it was unacceptable and we will come back bigger and stronger from this.

Can see both sides here. Good to recognise everyone that contributed for the season but as a player you just want to play and it would burn to miss out. For me personally it would feel a bit hollow. Would take the medal though 🙂
