Maybe we should be pragmatic? Isn’t the problem and the risks the same irrespective who is appointed as Wallaby coach. At least Schmidt has the runs on the board at an international level, doesn’t that lessen the risks compared to the other alternatives?
And Schmidt has proved himself coaching non Kiwi teams!

COMMENT: In trading Greatest Showman for 'boring' and 'pragmatic' Sleepy Joe, RA gambling with game's future

Read Michael Cheika’s comment with a wry smile as I was trying to think of a single player that Cheika developed in his stint as Wallaby coach. As soon as a player had an off day, not a bad day, he was replaced by an older player selected out of position. Great strategy for player development.

REACTION: Aussie legend demands Wallabies call-up for Force 'future star'... but is it too soon?

By and large I agree with Geoff, week after week you read the same article with minor modifications. These journalists are getting paid for doing next to nothing and in the end you just get sick of reading the same article time and time again.
Moreover I’m sure they cut and paste each others articles.
The solution is simple, if you can’t say anything good say nothing.

The Wrap: Lazy thinking reinforces rugby’s negative narrative

Swimming got rid of the endless false starts, if you false start now its instant disqualification. If the law in rugby allowed one reset and if after that if the second scrum was not completed a penalty HAS to be awarded. I’m positive we would see a massive difference, and I mean improvement, in scrum technique. Most of the problem now is due to one team feeling they are at a disadvantage and decide on a repack to give them a better chance to be competitive.

Too right Richie! World Rugby need to get a grip on time-sucking scrums

I agree completely, its very fashionable to bag people irrespective whether they had any influence in the situation that is being debated. Bill Pulver doesn’t get a mention but he has a lot to answer for. On top of that everyone knows that Alan Jones hates women, what chance does Ms Castle has?????

The rugby media need to be careful not to kill the game they rely on

Would you like to be in the same room as Raylene Boyle????

The Wrap: Devious New Zealand plot to destroy Australian rugby exposed

Always thought Robbie Deans should have won New Zealand coach of the year in 2011. Just happened to be a RWC year, sheer coincidence?????

The Wrap: Devious New Zealand plot to destroy Australian rugby exposed

I believe what Brett is actually saying is the Michael Cheika either doesn’t have the skills to recognize or to solve the problems around the rucks.
This is clear when you look at Cheika’s history and moreover the performance of the Wallabies. All the major competitions where he was the successful coach were within two years of him taking over the team. Just look at the recent results, he coached the Waratahs to their success in Super Rugby and then went on to have a great 2015 World Cup. On each occasion someone else had selected and coached the the team and Cheika came along as the motivator.
For the past four years we have witnessed a gradual decline in the performance of the Wallabies, last year was how bad? There has been the odd good game by the Wallabies such as in Perth but these turned out to be a flash in the pan. I had hoped that the addition of Michael O’Connor and Scott Johnson to the selection panel had a positive effect but I was disappointed to say the least.
Furthermore, in the years Michael Cheika has been the Wallaby coach he has not developed one world class player.
What does this tell you for the upcoming World Cup, unfortunately I don’t think we are going to have much to cheer about. Particularly as the immediate past is the best guide to future performance.

The age-old problem at the heart of another lacklustre Wallabies performance
