COMMENT: The Dees failed Christian Petracca on King's Birthday - and questions must be answered

I was there, and to be honest I was shocked he didn’t get stretchered off. It seemed obvious it was quite serious. The reality is if Melbourne were 2 games clear on top like Sydney then no way would they have risked him. Decisions are still being based on game situations and ladder permeations, rather than players health. Unless you’ve got a mobile xray machine on hand you can never tell how serious it is, however I think they got it really wrong with this one and not a lot of parents would be enthused with it either.

Yes but im a Dee through and through – not my first 100 point rodeo!

Six Points: Darcy's dog act deserved more weeks, some overdue Freo love, and HTB crackdown a predictable farce

Voss is good like that – not afraid to move the magnets!

And Melb should never ever play in the Territory again.

Well said, my pet hate is the overused word ‘choke’. Sometime’s team’s just get outplayed. Choke is Greg Norman at Augusta stuff, not losing from a 5 goal lead!

Zach William’s to the forward line could be huge for you guys – you needed a crafty mid sizer.

So needy, very Donish. Blue’s look like Sydney’s biggest challenge at this stage.

Bad match up for my Dee’s, I thought I’d put a little wager on to soften the blow if my team lost(which I predicted). I went Freo 1-39. Wow, I managed to lose twice!

That’s my issue, enough grandstanding. They’ve gone on record to say they wouldn’t have done it themselves, yet accepted a World Cup ‘won’ on boundaries. You can’t pick and choose when you want to be moral warriors.

Six Points: Defending THAT time-wasting free, 2024's coldest take, and can we stop saying the Dons aren't that good?

No doubt in my mind – England were slightly better. The rain thwarted them and the new ‘old’ ball took us out of a winning position. Good series, just not a brilliant atmosphere. The Aussie’s could have withdrew it, (the appeal) and England could have shown a lot more maturity. The desperation to win from both sides makes it tense.

Agreed, well said

If they listened to KB and duly cut the interchange rotations to drastic measures-then we would see less congestion.

Correct in the sense that the umpires really didn’t have a choice in England, which wasn’t the case in Perth. I’d have preferred Cummins withdrew it but not overly affected by it, and if it happened the other way I’m confident we wouldn’t have had a collective national whinge fest. Mind you, it did galvanise England.

I kinda didn’t like the Bairstow incident
and the same with the umpires call against Collingwood. So maybe I am a play it in the ‘right spirit’ kinda guy over the ‘rules are rule’s’ crowd.
Despite this, England’s reaction was hysterical and the Pie’s aren’t covering themselves in glory either.

Imposter’s – I see a return to finals and i see a straight sets exit. They are not anywhere near the premiership model when you look at their points for and against. Scott no doubt a very fine coach though.

Footy Fix: Dons deliver another Dreamtime classic as 'big boy month' arrives - are they the real deal?

Football hell already came for me last year, losing in straight sets to Collingwood and Carlton in close games. The second one was palatable as their supporter’s were just so happy to win a final, but they now seem to have regained that old smugness. The rise of the Bomber’s would just top it off! Although another straight set’s exit for the boys from Windy Hill is quite appealing…

He’s got form with that, he was doing it against the Bombers.

I do agree with you Don, the Blues game was farcical. However, I can’t stop thinking of that eloquent phrase – if my Auntie had ball’s, she’d be my Uncle!

I was trying to give him hope! Carlton have a weird profile, they sit 4th and 14th! I’m surprised by the that, but I suppose Weit and Mclovin haven’t been there much.

Thanks for the history lesson Doug – or is it Dougs?

According to the ‘couch experts’ last week, usually you need to be top six in offence and defence to clinch the cup. Dogs are now 3rd and 7th – perhaps they are a sleeper?!

Yeah, I also think they deserve a pass. The mental toll coupled with the opposition + the terrible set shot kicking equaled the perfect storm. StKilda will be desperate next week though, need to win that one.

Ok Macca, Carlton dominated and won by a point because Melbourne had a good ten minutes. Sheesh, go argue with your shadow.

Footy Fix: The Dees have a massive Christian Petracca problem - there's only one of him

Nope you backed up my claims – floodgates opened by the final siren.
