Great analysis Mike. Made so much sense.
For all of us suffering Roosters fans would you be able to pass this onto Trent Robinson?
He seems to have forgotten how to get his side to attack since Fitzy left for some reason…

Blame the supporters: The damning stat that is holding James Tedesco and the Roosters back

Being after a player and being linked to players in the media is a different scenario..
The Roosters have lost so many star players over the last 4 years which seems to be forgotten by most.
This was a very insightful article let’s not turn it onto another boring salary cap chat..

Smart Signings: With Brandon on board and clean bill of health, are Roosters best bet to stop Panthers three-peat?

Very good article.
I don’t begrudge any player whoever they choose to play for that they are eligible for however it’s not a level playing field in who they choose.
“they get to have their cake and eat it. They can play Origin, then not have to play for Australia”
This is great for the Pacific Nations and international RL overall however this really hurts NZ.
A NZ born player, that is eligible for Origin, now has the choice to stick with NZ or get to play 3 SOO games for $30k each a game and play for their pacific heritage.
The $30k a game is a huge lure.
Maybe it’s due to my family being Maori but we find it very hard watching James Tamou and Kayln Ponga play for Australia while also proudly doing the Hakka for the Maori side…yet with the rules they have every right.

League of nations: Origin perfect prelude to World Cup but it shouldn't be pinnacle of the sport

Like your thinking Mike on the return of the Centre and lock position, we started seeing that last year and will only improve this season. Couldn’t stand the boring coaches ideas of putting second rowers at Centre and Props at Lock. Was just lazy coaching and following others…
Now the game has opened up again it will be great to see a return of these attacking positions.
My only beef with the new rules is the 6 again interpretations. You can watch game after game and certain teams would constantly get 6 agains while others wouldn’t get them for exactly the same infringements. The 6 agains were a lottery and certain teams benefitted greatly from it while others didn’t.

The 'False 6', return of the centre and disher dominance: NRL's big tactical trends of 2022

“Their fans just love them. Whether they are cheering the boys on at the games…. wait…no…. that’s not right”

Well actually it is right.. uneducated fans like to say the Roosters have no fans yet they constantly rank high in crowd averages.
Last pre- Covid year 2019 rankings:

1. Broncos: 29,516
2. Knights: 19,053
3. Eels: 18,396

5. Roosters: 16,844
6. Warriors: 15,606
7. Rabbitohs: 15,601
8. Tigers: 15,345
9. Raiders: 14,864
10. Sea Eagles: 13,777
11. Cowboys: 13,658
12. Bulldogs: 12,861
13. Panthers: 12,482
14. Sharks: 12,224
15. Titans: 11,587
16. Dragons: 9813

'Hate makes the wins so much sweeter': What it's like to be a Roosters fan

Completely agree. You summed it up perfectly with this, not to mention obviously the new club the Dolphins have to recruit players and they will from nearly every club.
“Penrith need to understand that their excellent development work, allied to a geographic position that gives them access to the best young talent pool in the rugby league world, is a huge credit to them, but does not give them divine right to stockpile junior talent”

Yes Penrith do an amazing job with development but they have such an advantage with the size of their boundaries.
Look at Easts on the other side.. they had more than half of their boundaries given to Souths so have one of the smallest boundaries in the game. They have been forced to spend a huge amount in developing other areas such as the Central Coast to develop players.

If a salary cap dispensation came in for juniors then surely the boundaries would have to be re-drawn to make it fair and give every club a fair size of boundaries to work from.
