I love footy and cricket and fishing. Mostly footy. I'm a huge Cats fan. For me, the most memorable match was the '89 GF. I seen how much it mean't to Dad and the agony of losing such a game drove me to stay a Catsman. Dad is a Qlder, but lived and worked in Melb and Geelong. His fav was the great 'Polly' Farmer. For me, Cam Mooney is the man, or was the man. Stevie J is now the man. Quote I live by "I'm too drunk to taste this chicken" (Talladega Nights).

Top four a very realistic chance. Geelong love being written off. With the depth in talent, it will be up to the coaching staff to get the right mix week to week. What the hell….Cats 2015 Premiers! Too old, too slow…too good.

2015 AFL preview: Geelong Cats

Dartboard cricket, but you have to be good at darts not so much cricket. It’s the only cricket you can get a triple 20 in.

What cricket is the best cricket?

I hadn’t played for a while, but the new rules are interesting. At Wynnum we have now 6 ball overs, 3rd ball rule(must run after 2 dots) and last over of every batting pair gets a re-bowl off an extra(wide/no-ball). Is that standard now?

I thought Bomber was burnt-out and fatigued anyway. That’s what he said when he left the Cats, just after publicly scorning Ablett’s decision not to re-sign with the club. You reap what you sow Bomber.

You missed the point Don. I was replying to Madmonk’s comment. Mostly the later part. Aussie batsmen aren’t getting enough quality spin bowling on their home soil.

DIZZY: Australians lacked discipline, not skill, in the UAE

Are you talking about the domestic comp? There’s not too many good spin bowlers around at the moment. Mostly over the wicket orthodox rubbish with the only aim being to dry up runs. The batsmen need something of quality to play against. I may have generalized there a bit. Boyce looks ok, Muirhead is another young prospect.

DIZZY: Australians lacked discipline, not skill, in the UAE

Hey Diz. Good read. Can you forward a copy of this to the boys before the next UAE or sub-continent tour. Also, is it possible to replicate those conditions over here? And if so, why haven’t we been doing it in the past? Maybe some of the lads could give county cricket the flick and play in some local comps in the sub-continent during the off-season.

Give Dools another go.

Australia's No. 3 still up for grabs

I believe it is a mental thing as much as a technique thing. Once Pakistan got the advantage in the first test, they never let it go for the second. Too many demons in the Aussie batsmen’s heads about playing spin correctly played a significant part, but well done Paki’s and Well done Misbah. His field placement and bowling changes were spot on. Aussies need to be mentally tougher and work out how to turn a rough situation around and regain momentum.

Ronan. I think the point you’re making about positive intent correlates to my point about mental toughness. If the batsmen are thinking positively, they will have the mental advantage. The Paki batsmen were prime examples. They were never slogging it, but took advantage of everything that came there way. They were simply better mentally and physically prepared to play spin. I think they also put pressure on the Aussies with the field placement and opening with spin bowlers. Again, positive intent.

I’d like to add one little rant. Maxwell is not and never will be a test number 3. Good article, cheers.

Australia's batting against Pakistan was not "too aggressive"

Mitch Duncan’s 100th. Easy win for the Cats……

Geelong facing swift finals exit

Stick him at full forward.

Have the AFL and Brisbane Lions lost it? Why a live lion at the Gabba is the worst idea ever

That’s a great attitude isn’t it. “He hit me first!” Been to Palestine lately?

When the AFL takes on the world game, it is bound to lose

Just the soccer fairies whining again. They think they can bully anyone into singing to there tune.

When the AFL takes on the world game, it is bound to lose

Another day, another code war article. Can’t these soccer gooses find a rectangular field to play on?

Horse Longmire had the belt in 1990 for mine. Kicked some big bags and he was a very consistent performer. Hard to be the alpha forward in a side with Carey though.

The forward's championship belt

G’day Cameron. Have you got some stats for Vossy. I thought he might have got mention up there. As far as big game players go, he’d be a Wrestlemania champ!

The AFL midfielder's championship belt

Agreed. He’s not even that good at it.

AFL panel reviews Thomas' diving antics

Good article Cameron. Perhaps we should appreciate a bit more. Since every game is now live on fox, there are more blogs and analysis than ever. There are more footy shows now days and more journalists to have an opinion. All of this equals more whinging. Here’s my whinge – Melbourne and Brisbane, worst game ever! (probably not but it was damn ugly). Cheers

Good football comes in all packages

Never mind that. Lindsay could get a medal in the diving!!!

Lemon's winners and losers, AFL Round 19

2011 QF was a good one. Cats by 31

Cats the elephant in the room in an apparent two-horse race

Minor Premiers – Sydney
Grand Final – Geelong v Hawthorn
Premiers – Geelong
Norm Smith – Jimmy Bartel
Brownlow – Boomer Harvey
Coleman – Jay Schulz
NAB – Kade Kolajashnij

I’ll put that on for a multi – $5
Good luck everyone!

Hawks for flag, Buddy for Coleman

Good point.

AFL missing its chance to send the game global

I think it’s the opponents they’ve lost to is more the problem. Bluey, without his ace, looks a bit lost in the coaches box.

Gold Coast minus Gary Ablett equals GWS

I agree 100%. No Gazza, no Suns.
