It’s a “sellout” meaning there’s only about 10k seats that will be empty. But regardless, who will the crowd be supporting? Everyone hates the roosters but it’s a Sydney team? You’d think the crowd will well and truly on the raiders yeah?

Sydney Roosters vs Canberra Raiders: NRL grand final preview, prediction

I agree. However, if we get two first round picks and round 3 next year Danniher does his groin or knee or something, then Daniher has certainly given back to the club in spades.

I think we need to stop throwing good money after bad and just get the best deal we can. He hasn’t played for 2 years so any decent player we can secure in his absence makes us a stronger team than we were this year.

If we could manage to get a decent forward and a quality midfielder and lose Daniher and Fantasia, we are an improved team. With Devon Smith back as well, you’d think we would improve from 8th.

AFL Trade News: Essendon confirms Joe Daniher trade request

Loved Ricky as a player, hate him as a full-time whinger and part-time coach.

Disagree with the entire premise. Ricky has proved over 20 years he’s a fairly average coach.

I think he’s done a great job but I’m not entirely convinced about the level of credit he deserves. I’ll give him some credit for sending Papali back to the Reggie’s 18 months ago as he has been a revelation (or rejuvenation) this year.

I’m not convinced Stuart is very good at developing players and ironically, his history of developing halves is abysmal.

All that said, I think he’s done a great job in bringing this team together this year. On paper I still don’t really rate them, Papali and Hodgson aside it’s not a massively strong squad – certainly over achieved this year, which is a rarity for Stuart coaches team.

Go the raiders! I hate the chooks and also couldn’t bare the whinging from Sticky if they lose.

Haters take note: Ricky Stuart is an indisputably awesome coach

Disgraceful refereeing – a direct result of some of the disastrous decisions from recent weeks.

Utter insanity as TWO players sin-binned within seconds of the kick-off

The state of the game is in is the worst in 20 years.

Roosters into 2019 NRL grand final after stopping Storm

6. Most boring GF in history.

Five talking points from the 2019 AFL grand final

The fact Kaufusi was rubbed out with HIA could see him in strife, but it’s the roosters – probably not.

Is Luke Keary in strife for this blatant hair pull on Kaufusi?

“Announced” is different to the actual number there.

Roosters into 2019 NRL grand final after stopping Storm

He will be fine.

Could this incident see Josh Papalii miss the Grand Final?

I’m a fan of anyone beating the storm of roosters. The 10% is from my missus who doesn’t really give a &$$@.

Green machine: Raiders sink Souths to move into 2019 grand final

Stoked the raiders won and I will be 110% be supporting them next week regardless of who wins tomorrow, as will every other neutral supporter in the country.

I do have to say though, I am not a fan of the raiders and their wasting time strategies. Every drop out some bloke lays down injured and feigns an injury – start the shot clock and they play one short, or he stops faking it and gets up or sub him off. They got away with it numerous times against the storm in week 1 and again did so tonight.

I also, despite the constant praise from commentators am not a fan of the tactical stripping of the ball. Remember the rule was literally changed because 2 big blokes holding someone and little Alfie would come and pinch it from them. Now, two big blokes hold someone, a little bloke comes in, two big blokes let him go and the little bloke steals the pill. It’s essentially the same thing occurring that the stripping rule was brought in 25 years ago to stop. Credit to the raiders for taking advantage of the rule, but in the interest of the game it should change somehow.

Anyway, bring on next week – go raiders!

Green machine: Raiders sink Souths to move into 2019 grand final

Oh god, the pies just waltz through.

Lachie Whitfield ruled out of preliminary final

What you’re saying makes little sense. Burns hundred, actual test hundred, is worth less than a practice match?

As I said, I have no problems with Harris being selected, even ahead of Burns. But Bancroft shouldn’t have even been considered to tour and should’ve been sent back to shield cricket to perform for 6-12 months rather than slotting straight back in.

How can Bancroft scoring runs in a division 2 English country game have more credit than Burns scoring a test ton 6 months earlier? Burns earnt his spot in the team and deserved to keep it. It was absurd.

I wouldn’t be a Test selector for quids

Bancroft should never have come back into the squad. It was crazy that he was an automatic selection, ahead of Burns and Harris. I could justify starting with Warner and one Harris/Burns with the other next in line should they fail, but to start with Bancroft was absurd. He wasn’t cemented in the team when he left and he didn’t have recent decent cricket under his belt – mind boggling why he came straight back in to the detriment of Burns even being on tour.

The underuse or Starc was also absurd. Picking Marsh and Siddle in the same team for the last test was strange – they’re both plodders, pick one of them and have starc (or Pattinson) there as a strike bowler.

Overall they did a reasonable job.

I wouldn’t be a Test selector for quids

The raiders haven’t stolen favouritism off the storm, because the roosters are and were favourites. The winner of the GF comes from the winner of the storm v chooks prelim.

Have the Raiders stolen premiership favouritism off the Storm?

I’m tipping they went to the pub after the game too.

Reports: Broncos players were at the pub prior to historic Eels loss

The defensive effort was very impressive. That doesn’t equate to “being well on top” though.

Touch-ups or touch judge: Which had a bigger impact on the 2019 NRL premiership race?

So if the storm had won 20-0 you would have said the raiders were on top because they held them to less than their average? Ridiculous reasoning.

Touch-ups or touch judge: Which had a bigger impact on the 2019 NRL premiership race?

Anyway, the fact that the raiders held them to 10 points doesn’t mean they were on top. That’s not very sound reasoning…

It would be like saying England have Smiths (steve) measure if they dismissed him for 90 when he’s averaging 120.

Touch-ups or touch judge: Which had a bigger impact on the 2019 NRL premiership race?

My bad, apologies Bryan.

Touch-ups or touch judge: Which had a bigger impact on the 2019 NRL premiership race?

Sorry Ronan but I disagree with several of your comments here, but also the premise of a lot of the comments on here.

I disagree that the raiders were the better team. The storm dominated from about the 20th minute until the 77th. The raiders started strong and were gifted a comeback through storm errors and lucky referee calls.

I also disagree with the view that the storm are somehow the beneficiaries of favourable refereeing. It stinks of tall poppy syndrome. The comments that the storm or storm fans shouldn’t complain, really? The raiders fans and Ricky Stuart cry about how hard done by almost every single week and have done so for years.

The call was a shocker and should have been overruled. It ruined the end to what was a great game.

All that said, I’m stoked we don’t have to watch a roosters v storm grand final. Albeit we got to the position in an unfortunate way.

I hope the raiders can go all the way. My next option is to go for Manly, which makes me vomit a little as I think about it.

Touch-ups or touch judge: Which had a bigger impact on the 2019 NRL premiership race?

Well written piece.

A week for remembering Danny Frawley

The hatred for Gallen is that he completely lacked any sense of morality when he was on the field for the first 2/3rds of his career, he was an absolute grub. He wasn’t a jovial witty banter grub- Ennis, Reynolds etc, he was a Luke O’Donnell-esque grade grub who got rubbed out of the game numerous times for disgusting acts. I respect his longevity and ability to play at the top level for a long tome, but I don’t respect him.

Paul Gallen: Rugby league's modern-day hero

The try that made me blow a fuse , it was the third or fourth try and it was around 18-0 or so at the time. Moses puts a cross kick in, Boyd turns his back on the ball, doesn’t protect the catcher of the ball at all and is doing absolutely nothing. The ball hits him on the back and he casually stands still and watches an eels player pick it up, stroll a couple of steps and put the winger away. It was a disgraceful lack of effort in a time in which absolutely everything should have been thrown into our defence. Unfortunately for Darius, you could highlight 20 of these moments a game with him – he is an embarrassment as a captain. I don’t care that he’s lost a bit of speed and class but he applies absolutely minimal effort and for that he should be left in the reggies. If that’s the effort your captain puts in, no wonder the other blokes are so hot and cold.

Six talking points from Parramatta Eels vs Brisbane Broncos NRL elimination final

Very hopeful.

Australia can still win the fifth Test
