Interested in the popularity and growth of football in Australia, especially the A-League. Also passionate about the history of the former National Soccer League. I am a supporter of the Australia Cup, and believe a National Second Division is achievable.

There are more ads than usual, I’ve noticed. The screen will also “crawl” upwards without being promoted.
At least there are no Richard Wilkins ads anymore.
The Roar's A-League Men expert tips and predictions: Semi-finals, first leg
Sydney have incredible depth. Sure Lolley will be missed, but FC also have the home ground advantage. I rate the Sky Blues.
… But a Gosford match is a different story.
I’m predicting a draw tonight.

$26 billion? Too much. That’s quite steep.
Disney acquired Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion. Star Wars is a solid earner.

Macarthur’s stadium deal is subsidised by the local council, but I can also appreciate the Bulls paying for ground staff, etc.
I guess the question is: how do they increase their crowd numbers?
To me, WSW was the original Golden Goose of expansion. They had a dream start, but Macarthur are a different beast.

Spot-on, Sydneysider.
Football’s grassroots participation is massive, but somewhere along the line, not enough tykes are embracing the national competition.
I still see more EPL jerseys compared to A-League shirts.

True, Grem. Booth the A-League & Super Rugby have similar concerns.
However, I am excited about the possibility of Western United and the Melbourne Rebels joining forces.

Stu, I’m guessing you’re a Blacktown City man.

Lolley… Out.

… Back to Foxtel we go. Tra-La-La.
Cap in hand. “Please, Sir, may I ‘ave some more?”

You make some valid points, Brainstrust. Wellington is more of a “fairytale” team this year, & many neutrals will be supporting them.
The Mariners only just scraped a 1-0 ACL win in Oman. To me they’re just hanging in there. Jackson will need to motivate & keep their spirits up.
Sydney appear to be scarily good at times, others, they mentally switch off when playing less men on the field. Still, their strike power is super impressive.
As for Victory… After last week’s game against City, that darn team is capable of winning the darn Championship! How can you stop them? Come on Wellington, step up!

I’ve got a soft-spot for Macarthur too, Grem. Basically, I go for the underdog.

Jinx! FC are the Mariner’s bogey team. My confidence is very low playing Sydney.

Wellington will put Victory to the sword. Melbourne have been conditioned to park the bus & go for the draw.

Game on, Grem. 😊
Adelaide recently tried a similar press to Sydney & failed against the Mariners.
If Sydney doesn’t score within the first twenty minutes, they’ll lose. They lack patience.
Drum roll please…
Also, Central Coast usually grab a goal in the final ten minutes.
(Now don’t mention CCM haven’t beaten FC this season)

Redders is certainly a gentlemen, & he’s the reason the Socceroos qualified for the World Cup.

Singapore would have been a nice compromise.
Mariners strike gold in the Middle East with history-making AFC Cup triumph
The big question is… Will Lolley play?
Mariners strike gold in the Middle East with history-making AFC Cup triumph
There’s always hope.
I started writing for The Roar back in 2019, when the Mariners got the dreaded wooden spoon.
What a journey this has been – from last to first, & the AFC Cup. Congratulations, Central Coast.

Bang! Bang!
Two down…
Great result, Central Coast.
Izzo good: Goalkeeper the hero with epic saves, cheeky act as Victory pip City in elimination final CLASSIC
Congratulations, Mariners. AFC Cup winners.
