A disappointing, anti-men’s football load of dribble. The lucky success of the Matildas shouldn’t be used as a weapon against the men’s game.
The Matildas were not good to watch by any stretch of the imagination but they got through and that is very exciting.
The Olyroos definitely did not play well in large parts of their games but as a spectacle to watch it was a very different speed and skill level. Men’s football is the most competitive sport in the world it is difficult to do well in it.
Please stop posting these anti-men’s football articles. NRL and AFL have good products and support bases they don’t need attacks on men’s football to secure their position.
Why I'd watch a Matildas game over the Socceroos or Olyroos any day of the week
I wouldn’t consider this to be one of our most talented squads I think Arnold has done an amazing job with a relatively weak squad. I thought WC qualifying went well until the last few key games where the wheels fell off.
I think McLaren isn’t effective in our style against stronger opposition. Duke has been much better. Young players like Kuol are exciting prospects but have a long way to go before being good enough to replace Leckie, Boyle and Goodwin so we should temper pushing expectations of these guys too fast as was done with Arzani.
