Guys as much as current averages are vital to digest and and promote into top structures, I really believe the captain, attitude and general team environment is more important.
There is more than enough skill with quality players to play and win for Aus to get to the top….it’s more about coordinating captaincy, team attitude and common goal to succeed.

The batting was poor, but heads shouldn’t roll just yet

Tim Paine you a star. As a South African I hope you garner what resources you have and become the best in the world.Your attitude, determination and skill is so underplayed yet the most important ingredient in going forward.
Please show that to be great you don’t have to be a bully or aggressive in attitude…play the game like you do and the world will support you..win or lose.
I will certainly be rooting for you to beat all and sundry. ..Sa included.

Aussies collapse, Proteas win series 3-1

Easy for me to say now but my son only wants one signature…Tim Paine.
What a gentleman and honest but hard hitting in his summary of the tour.
Just wish results only determined greatness.
Tim you have serious respect from this South African.
I really do hope you take Australia to the top again.

The game is long gone but Cummins will be one of the world’s greatest bowling allrounders…a bowling version of Kallis…big call but watch!

Take a bow, Pat Cummins

Rats 100%…it’s not only the direct damage but probably the collateral damage which takes a lot longer to repair than a one off incident.

Yes Kenoath, they have beaten India in India.
Sa have an unbelievable away record overall!

Wrong actually Kenoath. It was obvious as per my previous comments that Sa were mentally destroying Aus by batting them completely out the game.Whilst I supported Sa, I had satisfaction in that I had been commenting that Warne and many others didn’t appreciate the damage of 600 odd did to the minds. In fact I was surprised Warne saying declare and let the Aussies have a go!…never…Faf had tactics spot on!

No sir!…definitely not hollow.
Think you’ll have to find different adjectives!

Whatever the outcome of Aus cricket admin, I am so impressed with Tim Paine…just had brilliant interview and he is a classy humble man.He has skill, guts and the right attitude.
As a South African I believe he is the future, in his 30s or not.
In fact I’d be so chuffed if he could help Aus to a draw tomorrow…sometimes good guys can win too!

What have we become? Smith as a sacrificial lamb to the god of sanctimony

Sincere apologies..meant Renshaw who spoke confidently and with purpose..but hellava depressing knowing have to bat to survive and not to win..huge difference.

Hilarious this morning…Bancroft says to Haysman before play…when it’s our turn to bat we will go big and do whatever we can to win.
Well if this isn’t a party pooper nothing is because there is nothing worse in cricket thinking you just might have a good day and get the runs…and opening the batting realising you have NO chance.

Bobbo, funny because I’m thoroughly enjoying it!
A series win is a series win.

For all those wanting declaration..all the SA bowlers are injured…they up in the series.. they’ve never won at home.
It’s amazing how exciting cricket is more important than guaranteeing a win for some.
Rest assured if I was in there position I’d do exactly the same…irrespective of Warne wanting excitement for the croud!!!

Johnno Sa are 2-1 up in series!
Your comment is wrong…they don’t need to win this match!
They can bat till the cows come home!

South Africa vs Australia: International cricket fourth Test – Day 4, live scores, blog, highlights

SA will bat until game dead!…do you honestly believe they will take a chance of not winning a home series since readmission!
There is no chance…however boring it is…and without Morkel.
Also would give Paine a huge boost for at least drawing when under the kosh.

So impressed with Tim Paine!
Build this team around him and Aus will not only regain top respect but will be on a winning streak in more ways than one…mark my words.
Gentleman with a seriously tough streak that has skill and huge team support.

Tim plays through the Paine, Sayers struggles on Test debut

Funny…I always thought that what goes round comes round…the imperious Steve era had to know one day there might be a better team out there and would respond accordingly…ala de Kok versus Warner…it had to come. You set the precident beware of the long term consequences…

Steve Waugh ruined cricket. Sledging is the real cheating

Well based on that interview this saga has a while to run…there could be more explosive revelations forced out in next few months and Warner certainly portrayed a man with some hidden inner secrets!
Makes things a lot muddier for me…

Warner fears international career is over

Phew! Hectic but we have to process the pain, clear our heads and realise after all this is only but a game…an important one, but a game nevertheless!!!

Steve Smith becomes a man by turning into a boy

Agreed Ches…as difficult as it was to watch one gets the impression there might have been a bit of being set up to fail, especially after the acrimonious pay dispute!
Agree with Barry comment…let’s take plenty wood out our own eyes before plenty of puritanical views…

WATCH: Cameron Bancroft and Steve Smith press conferences

Yeah Bancroft presser well handled…only one thing.
All very well apologising to all Australia but how about a simple apology to the SA cricket team?

Cameron Bancroft and Steve Smith cricket press conferences: Live updates, blog

Funny article ha ha!…I completely disagree with the contents of your message. To make light of serious premeditated cheating and cover ups and compare it to the “Faf” incidents is incorrect…agree the punishment maybe too harsh but just maybe the build up of arrogance, premeditation and desire to win anyway we can, might have have caught up with a team endowed with talent but driven by a very unpopular ideology of win at all costs!
Cheating of any order is no joke..in the amateur or professional arena.
Period.

The Cape Town kerfuffle

Lehmann according to my personal high level sources from England, India and S.A. is the real problem!
How on earth he stays on beggars belief…enquiry now on or not.I’ve heard stories and had first hand info that he is a desperate man and will do anything to win…irrespective of consequences…and if he wins has a good old old Chinwag and a beer with the opponents. If he loses…the absolute worst type of character not the typically Australian sportsman displays.Australia play hard and fair but as long as the cynical Lehmann around he will garner few supporters here and around the world!

Smith, Warner, and Bancroft to be sent home as Lehmann found innocent

Great move…good guy with good scores but…how on earth is he going to interact with the current coach who is staying on but has tried to cover up all illegal activities of the last week…and I believe is a devious, cynical person who tries to cover up all forms of sins… his personal coaching mantra says it all!!!

Matt Renshaw must replace Cameron Bancroft permanently

Not that bad!!!…you got to be joking! It’s far worse than some of the opportunist polishing of balls you mention. It was a preplanned cheat of the highest order. I’m glad Smith and cronies aren’t playing in my golf fourball on Saturday..I haven’t got as many eyes as there are cameras in a cricket ground.
“It’s not that bad, just disappointing”….You are joking!

Calm yourselves people: Steve Smith’s behaviour isn’t that unusual
