I don’t understand why all of the commentators on channel nine go on and on and on and on about what the public thinks. Most of the public would no close to nothing about cricket and the theroretical side of it. I was watching Aus v India this afternoon, and they ask the question, What do Australia need to win the Test? Well how would anyone know what they really needed to win the test match. 66% of the public chose 300, I think not. 22% chose 275. Probably a credible total to achieve and a good enough total to bowl at. Then, out of 25,000 of people, 5% of people chose 225 runs to win the test match. That shows there are Australians out there that are complete cricketing idiots, considering that India have Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest players to ever wave a willow, Rahul Dravid, a monumentally big run scorer and a brillant batsmen, and of course Virender Sehwag, who can score a good century in a couple of hours. Then you have little chip-in knocks by Gautam Gambir, Virat Kholi and other half decent batsmen.

So yes, I would have to say that the Viewers Verdict is an abomination to cricket and something that should be closely looked at by all those who may be involed.

Nine's Viewers’ Verdict is sporting democracy gone mad

Wow how awesome. If I ever met someone of a high calibre as that I wouldn’t know what to say.

The night I had a glass of wine with the Don

I dunno why everyone praises Sammy Thaiday so much. I mean, he is a great bloke off the field, with all the chartitable work that he does, which is great, but I just can’t see him being a good captain.

For starters he can’t go a whole game without giving away multiple penalties, and he knocks the ball on.

For seconds, he can’t really use the captincy to his advantage because he is a bit too quiet.

Thirdly, how can Sam be the captain when his on report all the time. He just does too many really stupid mistakes and as the captain of a great footy side, the Broncs just can’t take the risk of having an indisiplined player leading the side into a huge final, like last night, and not having any sort of intesity or game-plan at all.

All in all, give Corey the captincy and work on Thaiday’s disciplin.

Clarke is spelt with an “e”. Just sayin coz you can get cofused with the former ozzie fast bowler. even confused me, then i remembered the Vodafone ad

Nathan Lyon: Love at first spin?

I agree, leather sucks up water like a sponge

What's really killing Test match cricket?

Well depends really. In all fairness, each day should be started at an exact time and finish at an exact time, whether that’s the best thing to do is another question entirely. I reckon if the light becomes so bad to a point when everyone is struggling to get a proper outline of the ball. Especially when you have people like um.. Mitchell Johnson who can bowl 140+km/h and the batsmen can’t pick up the ball. That is quite dangerous when you think about it.

What's really killing Test match cricket?

Yeah I wrote the bloody article before they came good

The selectors have killed Australian cricket

No you can’t just say to the bowling team, “Oh the quicks aren’t allowed to bowl now, the rain’s started”
For starters, what if, like in the Ashes Tour, the selectors only have 4 pace bowlers and no spinners. Secondly if the ball is swinging or bouncing or zipping through, it is an unfair advantage to the batting side because odds are the bowling side had to bat in those conditons anyway. No the umpires can’t have that authority over the game.

I believe that is absouletly fair. The birth of his second child is a big moment for him and for anyone for that matter. No-one should be saying those things about Punter.

Detractors should cut Ponting some slack

No No No. Shaun Marsh, the replacement for Hussey when he retires, needs experience before he has to play all the time. He just needs to be given a bit of a go, then go back to state cricket, work on his batting there, and then given another go at the big league. The selectors, who are absoulutely terrible, need to think ahead and work out that the Ozzie cricket team isn’t going to be like this forever. Now I have just heard that the idiots have dropped Kawaja and given Phil another go. Kawaja, in my perspective, is much better than Hughes any day of the week.

Phil Hughes, in or out?

Yeah, it is a bit of a worry. I really think that after the Sri Lanka v Australia game in Columbo, Shaun Marsh should get the openning bat instead of Phil. Phil might be a good state cricketer but when it comes to the big boys league, not up to scratch.

Phil Hughes, in or out?
