personally I think Hunt is a brilliant half, but the Hoffman/Barba five -eighth/fullback experiment they’ve been talking up only makes me think they’d earmarked David Stagg to play pivot this year…i’m massively dubious

Dave Smith's revenge of the NRL nerds
Yeh good point Ferret, unlike the movies things aren’t always black n white in real life and there are a lot of bright footy types who’ve more than earnt thier roles in the game
Grant as you mentioned, Peponis, Quayle….geez even Brad Fittler got a mark of 85 on his HSC! WIth the NRL Education and Welfare programs being rolled out this should only increase in the future too.
But with all the extra cash in the game it’s nice to have a hardcore finance nerd like Smith around so the NRL doesn’t end up building a monorail or something
Cheers

The Super Bowl is a poor NFL advertisement
Hi Al
Personally I say the more NFL fans Down Under the better, and the Super Bowl is the one NFL game a year I get to watch watch with a whole group of people rather than just me sitting in my undies eating Nutri-Grain checking the fantasy football scores on my phone in the wee hours.
But, I do know a lot of NFL fans who get annoyed by the once a year fans, and I’d be lying If I didn’t say explaining the downs system to my Father in Law for the fourtieth time doesn’t become tiresome.
And hey, if I wanted to follow something underground in Australia i’d stick to other sports….like the CFL!
What team did you end up cheering for anyway Al?

The Super Bowl is a poor NFL advertisement
No doubt BA, and the commentators did on occasion say it was a pretty noisy Super Bowl crowd.
I just find that after the colour and noise of the AFC?NFC Championship games soometimes the SB crowd seems a bit luackluster
I know it’s a problem for a lot of large scale sporting events, but I just seem to find myself saying to the once a year NFL fan “Man, you should have seen the crowd two weeks ago!”
The Super Bowl is a poor NFL advertisement
I often wonder whether the Ravens would have run up a big win over SF last year if the power hadn’t gone out…as a Ravens fan I say yes yes yes!
The Super Bowl is a poor NFL advertisement
I honestly thought the Seahawks had played their Super Bowl a couple of weeks ago…but they were just so impressive yesterday. Could be a few good years in the NW
The Super Bowl is a poor NFL advertisement
Ha ha yeh probably Mal, but Masterchef Bellamy could probably still roll him into a great Bubble and Squeak that wouldn’t look out of place at a 5 star restaurant.
Reminds me of a funny story about Bellamy baking rolls using soaked leftover mouldy bread I read once…
