No Eden Park matches in this year’s Bled? Yes please.

Rugby News: MCG to host Bledisloe Test as Wallabies' run to World Cup revealed, new Force-hooker's French deal confirmed

Agreed. Commbank at Parra is an awesome stadium. With a decent crowd in it will be 100x better than the SCG. But that’s the rub… getting a decent rugby crowd into Parra for Test matches has been a challenge in the past.

Rugby News: MCG to host Bledisloe Test as Wallabies' run to World Cup revealed, new Force-hooker's French deal confirmed

Nick, amazing read, thanks.

I’m concerned that this is being coached. Is this a Scott Weismantel directive, do we think?

ANALYSIS: Time to pray Australia, because it's Quade Cooper or bust for the RWC. And when he's gone there's no one else

Thanks Harry, an enjoyable read!

Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean when you say Aviva is a “crowned field”?

Sexton and the city: A journey to Dublin where Ireland win at rugby and 'day drinking’ is just called 'day'

While I have been a Tom Banks fan for a while now, I think if he isn’t selectable next year, then why play him on the spring tour, over a Jock Campbell / Kellaway / Hodge / Nawaqanitawase or even (puts hands over eyes) Beale (if only to see if he still has “it”)?

Not going to help with combinations picking a bloke who is unlikely to be a Giteau pick and therefore won’t play in gold in 2023…

Australia A tour of Japan perfectly timed for inevitable Spring tour call-ups

Surely you jest. FF’s lineout throwing has been appallingly erratic for a long time now, and Porecki has been shown to be far more reliable.

FF has been good off the bench though, as you say, so I think we have the right combo at hooker.

REPORT CARD: Every Wallabies player rated, with biggest improvers and major concerns, from TRC

The Wrap on Friday: Call it all the time or not at all - crazy, ridiculous moment we should have seen coming

Fair question Brett. It’s just frustrating when it feels like we have the right ingredients (i.e. players) to have an incredible lineout…

Killed by their extremes: Why the Wallabies have to find the graft and grind

Thanks for highlighting Jeznez’s point, Nick – I had missed that one.

I for one would like to see Harry Wilson back in the team as an option at no 8.

While I am over the moon at Holloway’s redemption at the Tahs and his rightful step up to the Wallabies, I would like to see a Valetini, McReight, Wilson back row for extra oomph for games against teams like the Boks.

Coach's corner: 'The sheer intensity of his personality will dominate' - how All Blacks' new coaching dynamic will work

Brett, my mind still boggles as to how our lineout is still a massive Achilles heel this year. It’s very difficult to win Test matches when you can’t win your own lineout – you don’t get clean ball for attack, you can’t bring the mall into play, etc etc.

How is our lineout still misfiring this deep into the season? With the 10-foot Arnold back, and Faianga and Porecki getting consistent minutes, there should be no excuses. McKellar as the forwards coach needs to deliver…

Killed by their extremes: Why the Wallabies have to find the graft and grind

Umm… under Williams, Australia lost the penalty AND the yellow card count

REACTION: Boks turn salty tears into raging torrent of revenge, Marika smashed and humbled in TRC 'mugging'

Totally agree. Sooner we blood the likes of Edmed and Donaldson and Campbell the better.

Coach's corner: The big question mark over Tupou leading into Boks series and how Richie led Foster to salvation

Jim, love ya work, but Beale??? Seriously???

Can’t remember the last time he had a great game in gold. Seriously a long time ago.

I’d go any of the younger blokes before Beale. If we think KB is the answer then we are asking the wrong question…

ANALYSIS: Rennie must take leap of faith in Campbell and Beale to solve Wallabies' worrying fullback puzzle

Thanks Harry for the article, great read.

My view from the peanut gallery is that South Africa didn’t look amazing against Wales, yes they usually step up when playing the Kiwis and the atmosphere in the Republic will be dynamite… but I’m not sure they are looking as bulletproof as some suggest.

On the other hand, I reckon the death of the All Blacks has been greatly exaggerated… too many class players in that squad not to bounce back with a vengeance, I reckon.

I certainly agree that 2 wins in Argentina is the pass mark for the WBs.

Bring it all on, can’t wait!

Wallabies' weakness ABs will expose, Foster facing rugby hell, and how the Boks will lift the trophy: TRC predictions

Agreed, I was disappointed in Wilson, he gave that silly penalty away and didn’t do much more of note on the night.

The basic skill execution was way off last night, Tupou was poor (maybe not 100% after injury?) and Hodge’s pass to the sideline hot on attack was U11F grade stuff. He also kicked the ball out on the full which stuffed momentum (though having the big boot at other times did get us out of jail).

The backline still looked way too deep, too much out the back stuff. Do we really think Lolesio is the heir apparent to Cooper at 10? I’d say Edmed or Donaldson have more to their game and deserve some time in the squad.

'Plenty of chances so it hurts': Everything Dave Rennie and Hoops said about game tactics, subs and smack talk after loss

I started reading that but got tired. Try some full-stops next time! 😛

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Suli set for debut, Wilson at No.6, JOC dropped, Hodge and Tate return for England decider

That TMO from the weekend had ADHD, couldn’t help piping up and being the centre of attention.

Hopefully she will be taken through the match tape and learn some lessons!

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Suli set for debut, Wilson at No.6, JOC dropped, Hodge and Tate return for England decider

Agree on Suli not having done enough, BUT I guess it’s not DR who paid the big bucks for him to be in rugby, and if you’re not going to give him a run now, when?

It’s a shame as I think Marky Mark off the bench would have given better coverage across the back 3.

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Suli set for debut, Wilson at No.6, JOC dropped, Hodge and Tate return for England decider

Hodge certainly hasn’t been playing the house down, but I’m comfortable with him at 15 because I’m not sure who else could / should! Plus that massive boot will give us a bit more breathing space

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Suli set for debut, Wilson at No.6, JOC dropped, Hodge and Tate return for England decider

Great to hear about Harry, but the idea of Leota at lock concerns me…

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Suli set for debut, Wilson at No.6, JOC dropped, Hodge and Tate return for England decider

Spot on. Not saying he is the messiah but jeez it has been great having a consistent line out thrower in Porecki.

Faiangaa has always been inconsistent with his throws, mind-boggling he hasn’t got better when it’s critical in the job description…

ANALYSIS: 'Bristling, upbeat and on message' England's back-to-basics campaign brings dividends in Brisbane

Andrew Johns would have been great in Union, but by the time the Tahs were targeting him he was banged up and held together with strapping tape…

Have the Australian fixtures for Bledisloe Cup / Rugby Championship been released yet??

Can’t see any confirmed schedule anywhere. Feels weird that we’re almost in May and we are still waiting – perhaps RA is waiting to see if the new SFS will be ready?

Rugby News: Confusion as Angus Bell avoids suspension for 'wild act', Eddie's 'fat, lazy' sledge, NZ Bledisloe date locked in

I’ve always found this rule pointless.

It should be open slather. If a defender wants to gamble on an intercept or knock down of the ball, rather than attempting the tackle, then fine – if the defender knocks it forward it’s a regular knock on.

2 attackers on 1 defender should be able to score a try. If they hash a pass and the defender knocks it on then too bad.

It's time rugby union changed the intentional knock-on rule
