Amateur sports watcher and general expressor of poorly-thought out opinions until they're proven to be utterly wrong - usually at my bank account's expense. English born so offer an alternative - though probably unwanted - viewpoint.

Hopefully I've saved myself a bit of face down the track as this article was delayed until after the latest round of fixtures. Here…
Continuing on from my last article here are the next five sides currently occupying the positions 6-10 on the Premier League table. (This was…
So after seven games played by each side we can start to gather how the rest of this season may play out. I'll supplement…
But the ball slipped through his hands, didn’t project the ball forward.
Anyway, brought a great finish.

The ball literally went backwards through his legs

Awful defending playing the runner onside.

Jeez Harper’s doing my head in. You’d think there’s only one team with his bias.
Simon Hill talking about the dribble from the Thai player – only for Harper to chime in with “great tackle Milligan”.
His A’-League work isn’t much better.

In this crazy game at least we’ve got one constant: Bernard Foley missing kicks

Definitely agree – especially with the +30 minute allowances we now have. Why they can’t fine or knock runs off for slow over rate baffles me.
But at the same time, the batsmen do exactly the same thing. Fiddling with pads, stopping the bowler, calling for a drink/new gloves. Umpire has to really step up and take control of the match.
The next step to securing Test cricket's relevance
Yeah, but to be fair no-one goes to the NRL anywhere – except Brisbane.
And Melbourne Storm actually have the second-highest attendance of any NRL team.

Very well done, stunning every game.

Absolutely phenomenal performance, trying to think of superlatives which will reflect his play. He won’t get it, but he deserves it.

New Origin drinking game: every time Gus sings the praises of Mitchell Pearce despite doing nothing have a shot. Expect to be passed out by the 20 minute mark.

In saying that, I don’t think the Qld forwards have been particularly strong either. Backline has won this for the Maroons – Gagain especially, who I think is a roughie for MOTM.

Yes, but SBW still dropped the shoulder and intended to make contact with the head. He knew Watson was being tackled and still went through with the action.

I think they did as well as they were allowed to do. Don’t need to win these games but execute the basics, run through the moves, and ultimately get through with no injuries.

What an awful final pass. Highlighting the lack of finish in this side at the moment, I’m sure it’ll be rectified though.
Jeez, that Hop Hog goes alright, 5.8% doing its work.

I do indeed Digger. You had it yourself?
Great commentary btw – only tuned into the BBC live texts for the Ugo comments I swear.

BBC saying Jerome Garces has been talking to the Chiefs about blocking runners from contesting a kick. Apparently Gats was going on about it earlier this week.
Definitely something I’ve picked up on over the first few games – although it must be said that it can’t be easy to officiate with so many moving bodies.
Not sure what I’m saying from this comment either. God Hop Hog’s a good drop.

Yeah that one needs to be looked at. Possibly the NFL-style ruling? If you can jump the whole maul without being touched then fair game and you deserve MOTM and should really be in the Olympics.

I have to say I’m very disappointed in the lack of coverage this venture is getting on this side of the world. It seems like whenever the words “international” and “rugby league” are in the same sentence there’s a collective lalalalala across NRL boardrooms and media rooms as fingers are firmly stuck in ears. Evidenced by the snubbing of the WCC by Australian teams.
This could be huge for the game especially when competing with union for the US market.
We’ve already seen the success of the Toronto Wolfpack in North America, and Catalan Dragons firmly establishing themselves in Southern France.
According the Guardian there’s plans for a 2nd Canadian team in 2 years, and potentially 5/6 North American teams within 5 years.
Meanwhile, in Australia PNG gets a token team in the QRL and NSWRL are dithering over the inclusion of a Fijian side. The game in this country is so short-sighted it’s a wonder they’re actually on the drivers side of the car they’re ploughing off a cliff.
