Very good point.
I have fixed the quoted line to reveal the true meaning: It is a disappointing interpretation of the articles I have written over the past weeks opposing the Springboks and England.

Possession Rugby is on life support - and the stats from the World Cup prove it beyond doubt

Well done Boks and commiserations to NZ. The Boks have true grit, but no other team on earth could have come as close to winning the match with just 14 men as this Kiwi team (and I say that as a South African). If the shoe was on the other foot, I daresay it would have been an NZ walkover.

A shame to see the TMO play such a big role in deciding the outcome, World Rugby has got to do something about the overuse of technology. Hopefully this match brings about some change.

THE GREATEST! Boks beat All Blacks in instant classic to claim record FOURTH RWC in controversial, dramatic final

Aren’t you an Australian? Why are you even making comments like that? STFU and come back in four years time.

'My heart breaks for him': Boks coach's message to Ian Foster is pure class as he bows out an unlucky loser

Short version: it’s not fair that some teams are better at scrumming than others.

Authored by someone who supports a team that is not so good at scrumming, just maybe?

The scrum saga: It does not feel right that teams are exploiting the penalty 'treasure hunt'

Relax, it’s hardly the Boks fault (or their fans) if someone writes a nonsense article like this. I don’t believe a single South African really thinks the Boks are somehow different to the All Blacks.

Legacy vs ego: The Springboks are playing for South Africa, the All Blacks are playing for themselves

Very seldom do I agree with Spiro, who usually wouldn’t say anything positive about the Boks at gunpoint. But in this case I think he has nailed the way England’s tactics ruined the game and were an embarrassment to rugby.

SPIRO ZAVOS: England's bully boy, no rugby display against Boks is the game they play in hell. Now for the salvation

“This isn’t an attack on SA rugby or their style, at least I don’t take it that way.”

Sure it is. If it isn’t, then why is the article titled: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

That wasn’t my point. The thrust of the article is that rugby should only be played the way NZ play it apparently – ball in hand and scoring tries from sweeping backline runners. I’m saying if you want to watch a game where the ball is in hand all the time, go watch league.

The whole point about union that makes it a better game than league is that it can be played in a multitude of ways. Unlike league where every team is playing with essentially the same style.

The beauty of union is that you can play it like NZ or like the Boks, or like Ireland or like England.

If you want rugby union to look like league, isn’t it easier to just stop watching rugby and start watching league?

The Boks were lucky to win, but goodness me England play the most boring style of rugby. They make the Boks look positively dashing and flamboyant in comparison. It would have been a shame for them to make the final playing like that.

'Concede points there, they're done': Moment England missed to bury Springboks as ghosts of 2019 return

I think the Boks didn’t care if they won or lost that game. Assuming they beat Tonga, the result was meaningless in terms of the overall Cup. The strange tactical decisions looked very un-Rassie like. I guess we may find out if both teams make it to the final (a very big IF!)
