An Indian crowd sledging … ? Who’d a thunk it ????????????

'Where is your Bazball?': Fans sledge England as bubble bursts with India dishing out taste of their own medicine

Australia had a long period of completely ignoring New Zealand as a cricketing opponent, so we haven’t changed much in that respect

COMMENT: What's the point in playing the Windies? Only the future of Test cricket itself

Either Khawaja or Smith should be shoulder tapped after these 2 Tests vs West Indies. For the next series, open with Renshaw and either one of those two, then next summer bring in a bolter, eg Matt Short. Warner became a Test player by being a star in the short form (pun not intended!) so Short in my opinion has to be at least in the conversation.

The final stand: How Steve Smith's shift to opener exposes the Australian cricket team's twilight era

I’m not sure I would even want to know how it all happened. Staying silent could well be the best thing to do after all.

The brotherhood: Why Warner will be forever silent about Sandpapergate

Warner’s retirement and Green coming in.to the eleven means they lose nothing in the field, as they’re both exceptional. Will having Smith opening work? It may well be a lemon, but sometimes you have to suck it and see

'He can dictate' - Warner sees clear upside in Smith's shift to the top

It’s not unknown for a player to get tapped on the shoulder while he is still considered at his peak. Somewhere on this thread someone has suggested Smith be tapped and maybe that needs serious consideration. So my two cents worth is to bring in Bancroft right away, and tap Smith after the Windies Tests. Neither Smith nor Green have any track record of opening, and tapping Smith after the Windies allows Green in at his preferred spot. The side needs to have fresh blood put in sometime and now is as good a time as any. I’d do similar with Hazelwood, he’s still really good but Morris is surely a longer term prospect. Starc must be getting close to that time too. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that they’re all still so good and producing great team cricket. Time waits for no man! Now watch everybody tear my words apart

'Technology curse': Pakistan director slams 'inconsistent' umpiring after contentious DRS call cruels hopes of famous win

Curran deserves the ban, no question. Is the commentator on point, though? I’m sure there’s just as many incidents in the women’s game, they just don’t cop the OTT coverage

COMMENT: BBL Pom's disgraceful ump incident deserves bigger ban - and shame on Aussie icon for 'both-sidesing' it

Excellent work Matt. I’ve caught up with your NSW work tonight too … must have been something else happening at the time lol

Australia’s best domestic 50-over players – Western Australia

Lords members displayed childishness for the whole world to see and laugh at. They would be the first to applaud if Bairstow had successfully run out an Aussie in the same manner

Top 11 cricket moments of 2023: World Cups, Bazball, Ashes drama, thrilling finishes and a most unusual dismissal

Fast bowling is a bloody tough job at its best, that’s why those guys are rarely captains. Bob Willis of England recognised that in his time, and in 82-83 Ashes made the mistake of underbowling himself, even he was the best quick he had available. Geoff Lawson did a great job over a long period in NSW State cricket. I reckon Pat is doing a great job of it, of course he’s made a few errors, we all do!

'He has delivered with bat, ball and leadership': But Pat Cummins is a captain who still never seems to get his dues

Wayne Phillips was a very good batsman who was a capable backup wicketkeeper. Should never have been the first choice keeper

Indian players all believe they are champion players. Australian players played as a CHAMPION TEAM

'India still best 50 overs team in the world': Former star blames 'sandpaper pitch' and toss of the coin for World Cup loss

Great article Ben. I had similar thoughts right through the tournament. Due to work (driving taxi) I was not able to watch the entire game, ABC radio came to the rescue between passengers. The guys were fifty runs short when I could finally watch some, if a call had come then, I would have said I’m not available until this match was over. what a win

I knew Australia's bunch of 'no-hopers' couldn't win the World Cup, right up until I knew they would

I’m another who thought India would be too strong, and then when Pat won the toss and BOWLED … I was working night shift so was only occasionally able to catch a score. The men fielded great, bowled great and then that man Head … hats off to Trav, and the selectors who gambled on him being fit for the 2nd half of the tourney ????????????????????

CHAMPIONS! Head's heroic ton, bowling brilliance sees Aussies crush India for SIXTH - and best - World Cup win

Abbott must be selected this time otherwise he may as well come home early. Starc is clearly done, yet still a damn good fieldsman. A straight swap there. Carey far better with bat and gloves than Inglis, should never have been dropped. Green in for Stoinis.

Six-win streak but problems abound: The tactical, selection and form issues Australia must fix before World Cup semis

England will soon claim that Bangladesh is only following Australia’s example of sportsmanship … at least this has knocked the ginger whinger off of the front page

Forget the spirit of the game - World Cup 'timed out' farce is a failure of basic common sense

This has at least knocked the ginger wringer off the front page. But already people are saying Bangladesh are merely following Australia’s lead in sportsmanship and the lack of.

'Felt like I was at war': Skipper defends appeal as Mathews launches tirade over 'disgraceful' TIMED OUT dismissal

The loss of Doedee is likely to hurt the Crows far more than we all think. The spate of injuries in the defence this year left things almost threadbare, a similar run would be catastrophic next year. The bigger problem is kicking higher scores so those close losses may not happen so frequently

ENG-barrassed: Skipper facing the sack after Poms' nightmare loss to Sri Lanka - World Cup title defence 'is over now'

Absolutely. Their fielding was great to watch while I was watching, it kept them in the game and I reckon both sides supporters would have enjoyed their work too
