i’ll tell you what it was. They lost Christian L. He was controlling eveything so well. Continually had the team on the front foot allowing players to play. He gets injured and suddenly you on the backfoot all the time. Relying on a 3rd string 5/8 was never going to end well from the brums. This young side is not up to that yet.

I think QC’s injury could be the making of him. He seems to have come back a lot less intent of scoring from every play and instead probing and looking for the weakness and then exposing it. It looks to me like he doesn’t totally trust his knee and is instead relying on his passing wich is always great and even his field kicking is regularly working.
I also think the international break came at a great time for the brums. It gave them 3 weeks to get the new combos working with zac Holmes. There is no doubt that being the 3rd stringer he wouldn’t have seen much time at training. Certainly looked more assured this game.

Ive been a but harsh no doubt, but do you believe that there was not one other high tackle in any game last week? That’s my point, if Steve Walsh didn’t white card he would have been fine. Waiting until the last round to suddenly start policing things with added scrutiny is wrong. I have no issue with protecting the head, but do it wash round. I bet that no high tackle gets looked at next week despite the fact that there will be several.
