Haha, I’ve just gotten up to be honest mate. They’ll be plenty of time for that in the coming weeks!

Brad Thorn hangs up the boots at the ripe age of 40

It’s scary to think that this guy was playing professional rugby before I was even born.
Quality player and the ultimate professional!

Well the Olympics are over a year away so there’s plenty of time for Burgess to learn the game. I do agree that Joe Simpson has more pace, but in my opinion Ben Youngs is a better passer of the ball and is better when it comes to link up play with other players around him.

Seven superstars that have to go to the Olympic Rugby Sevens

Apart from Union players, I would also like to see George and Tom Burgess as well as Lawrence Okoye involved.

I think Sam Burgess, Manu Tuilagi, Christian Wade, Marland Yarde, Nathan Earle, Mike Brown and Ben Youngs would be a good team for England.

I agree that over the years the positions of Flanker, Number 8 and Wing have changed over the last 10 – 15 years, but in my opinion the position that has changed the most over the last ten years is second row. A second row now isn’t just expected to scrum, win line out ball, hit rucks, tackle and carry the ball into heavy traffic, they are expected to be more dynamic in open play I.e contesting at the breakdown and winning turnover ball , having a decent turn of pace, distributing the ball and having an offloading game. In Essenes they act as an extra back row whilst doing all the core jobs that a second row is expected to do.

Some rugby positions have evolved

Stupid penalty! I’ve never head anyone give a penalty for “changing lanes”.

I’m surprised he’s not dead yet! Double impact syndrome only has to happen twice in the space of minutes, months or days, yet George North has had three in the space of a month and a half, another one could prove fatal.

Andrew Kellaway???

Who makes your uncapped Wallabies side?

Do we have two Englishman on the pitch now?

Stormers vs Chiefs: Super Rugby live scores, blog

When I watched this game I kept thinking to myself that the England pack, specifically the front row, would have an absolute field day against everyone of those front rowers!

Waratahs ease to victory over Queensland

I think it’s so disrespectful that the media in New Zealand are blaming John Kirwan and the Blues for the loss, instead of praising the lions for a massive defensive effort and being clinical by scoring one try in one attempt.

Lions beat Blues in Super Rugby

I meant on current form, not in the past year.

Who is in the 2015 world rugby XV?

This is very similar to what David campese did before the 1991 World Cup Final, very clever, just putting that tiny bit of doubt in to the minds of the players, coaches and fans, whilst using the media to broadcast it to all the teams that he thinks will be a threat.
Games are won by the tiniest of margins and if you have even the slightest thing in your mind, whether it be you actually knowing or subconsciously, it can have an effect on the way you train, prepare for a game or play. Look what it did to the England side in 1991.

Steve Hansen’s launches cunning new plan for the Rugby World Cup

Changing what I said previously how about Jacquees Du Plessis at 6, Louw at 7 and Vermeulen at 8?

Springbok back row for the World Cup – Vermeulen at 6, Cotezee at 7 and Spies at 8???

Who is in the 2015 world rugby XV?

I would switch the loosehead and tighthead position with Joe Marler and Dan Cole, I would also on current form switch Brodie Retallick with either Rory Arnold or Dave Attwood, but only because of his lack of games. Lastly I would swap Chiefs winger Bryce Heem with Ben Smith and switch him to fullback in place of Israel Folau.

Couldn’t agree more mate! Maybe the reason why there’s so much hate for it is because Australia are nowhere near mastering it.

Five steps to fix the maul

This is class!!!
Loved the part about the second rows!

The beginner's guide to rugby union positions: The forwards

If I was the ARU, I would try and get South Sydney Rabbitoes player George Burgess and stick him in at 8, which would certainly add some bite to the wallabies pack.

SPIRO: The ARU should forget about ageing league stars

It’s funny how you’re bashing northern hemisphere teams, yet Wales beat South Africa, as did Ireland and Australia were beaten by both England and Ireland.

2015 Six Nations: Round 1 analysis

I think if they were going to make an u20’s Rugby Championship, the best time to do it would be between March and April time.

SANZAR, tax breaks and U-20 Rugby Championship the way to go

Even though he plays american football now and never played for a professional club, I remember a player called Lawrence okoye, who was a winger who played for Whitgift school in England and he was 6ft 6 and 22st (he could also run 100m in 10.97 seconds).

Are 'power players' taking over rugby?

England prop Wilson to miss Wales clash

Carrying on from my initial picks:
– NZ. Tevita li (winger). Electrifying player with pace and power in abundance. During the Junior World Championship he was the standout player in what an average New Zealand side.
– NZ. Simon hickey (fly half or first five -eighth). Solid during the JWC and could challenge for higher honours in the next few years.
– ENG. Danny Hobbs – Awoyemi (loosehead prop). For me he was the best prop during the 2014 JWC. Very good scrummager, excellent in the loose and very good in the tight and also has a decent boot on him. Looks set to add to England’s list of top quality looseheads in the coming years.
– ENG. Nathan Earle (winger). A player who along with Handre Pollard and Tevita li was one of the best players of the 2014 JWC. He combines both his strength and speed to good effect and looks to have a bit of Julian Savea about him. Looks a certainty for international caps in the near future.
