2 tacklles 2 kicks in a firendly pre-season game.

The guy is an AFL legend!

He used to do 30 tackles and 10 kicks per game when he played league.
But playing AFL he gets about $100K per tackle.

Dr Israel and Mr Folau

Fussball and others,
just to let you know we have 13 tickets to the MV v Sydney FC A-League game next Saturday night in Sydney to experience an A-League game first hand for the first time.

The tickets are in the MV Away Fans Section, so we get to experience the fireworks at both ends.

Looking forward to it, after all the Palmer nonsense, doing our bit to keep the A-League going.

Brisbane Roar's ACL opponents FC Tokyo far from pushovers

Great news. Well done FFA.

SBS look like idiots.

Will need a smoth landing from all this and minimise impacts of the GCU fallout and legal challenges.

Lots of issues with remaining 4 rounds and GCU team and point allocation for the finals.

Lowy has also been working hard to get West Sydney up and running for next season.

Lots of issues and hard work ahead, but getting rid of people like Palmer might just save the A-League.

BREAKING: Gold Coast United A-League licence revoked by FFA

I didn’t think Lowy would do it but I’m pleased he did.

Well done FFA. Shows who is really running football in this country.

Will be interesting what happens now, will definately be a legal fight, maybe an injunction to allow GCU to continue.

What will Sage and Tinkler do now?

FFA terminate Gold Coast United FC: Full Press Release

From where I sit the NAB Cup and AFL are getting plenty of attention in Sydney.

They are giving it all the media attention it wants and all the results get broadcast, especially the Sydney teams.

Yes, the AFL marketing department are really honing up their skills for the start of the season.

Hands up if you knew the NAB Cup had started?

I have Foxtel.

Enough Palmer, won't someone think of the football?

Palmer is an immoveable object.
He talks nonsense and has double standards wider than Sydney harbour, but he has money and it talks.
He has a legal team that numbers more than the FFA’s entire staff.

He is determined to unseat Buckley and Lowy and either take over or destroy the A-League and start his own rival competition.

Beware Palmer and his death wishes, but try and kick him out and you’ll end up in court and ruined financially.

Will no one rid us of this troublesome beast?

Enough Palmer, won't someone think of the football?

I said I was from Bristol City originally, I didn’t say I supported Bristol City FC.

What I like most is having a kick around in the park with some mates and having a beer afterwards. None of us have ever been to an A-League or NSL game.

I just think you have to face facts if you want a professional league here and you have to work at it, even as a fan.

I you’re fighting among yourselves and bringing down the people who run it, then what chance have you got?

And if the people who own A-League teams don’t give a toss about the game itself, then how long are they going to keep putting their millions into it?

A-League headed for NSL-style crash

I think Palmer had no liking for the game to begin with.

He probably just bought a football club because it would boost his ego.
He rubs shouldes with a lot of rich people who probably own football clubs and was keeping up with the Jones’s.

A-League headed for NSL-style crash

The salary cap’s not the issue with the A-League Lazza cause you have the marquee system.

The issues are that the league is not generating enough income, some of the owners are not real football people or have any passion for the game, so they are more likely to walk away from it and finally that the FFA doesn’t generate enough income to support the A-League like the NRL and AFL cover club losses.

A-League headed for NSL-style crash

I’m not bagging the sport – I follow football just like you.

I’m putting the cold hard facts on the table and everyone connected with the game needs to do something about it or it will crash, just like the NSL did.

A-League headed for NSL-style crash

Sorry to waste your time fussball, but let’s face the facts.
A-League clubs are privately owned.
They are losing money, lots of it.
Rich owners who have no passion for the game are getting fed up and will walk.
The FFA doesn’t have the money to pay their bills for them – look what happened to NQF.
Its a crunch time for the league and the people running it need to face up to it.
There is not enough of a soccer market in ustralia to make it pay.

I follow football, but I don’t follow the A-League.

A-League headed for NSL-style crash

There have been some good achievements, but not enough to save the league from going broke.

A-League headed for NSL-style crash

If you’re from Bristol City are you ethnic?

No axe to grind, its a matter of economics – not enough money in Australian soccer for people to make it pay.

Even the NBL, AFL and NRL have lots of clubs losing money, but they have a central controlled organisation that foots the bills, not private ownership models.

They don’t have to put up with the whims of spoilt rich owners who will make trouble and bing you down. 😛
Palmer’s rant has spurred the other owners into action and it won’t be long before they bring the whole league down and frankly I couln’t care less.

Some of the owners don’t even like the game and would rather watch rugby.

A-League headed for NSL-style crash

A crowd of 1300 is a positive?

Cattery I’m all for young Australians being given a go to play in the A-League, but no matter who you select they would need a crowd of 10K or more to make a profit..
