Yes, it is a major issue. Paying an untested player at senior level $1m plus a year, has ensured that all the tested and strong performing players (Nawaqanitawase, Petaia, Ikitau, Jorgensen) all want the same salary, and RA can’t pay it. So all it is done is bring a guy over to increase pay expectations. Hammed poked the league bear when it was not needed sbd had no upside.

Does anyone know why this press conference was held? Eddie announced on arrival in Sydney last Thursday that he was talking the press this week but was it arranged by RA or Eddie? Seems like has just arranged it to hit the ball back over the net to RA. He clearly has no performance clauses. Would’ve thought “At least QF of RWC » would’ve been in there, and given why they sacked Rennie and hired Eddie, at least SF wouldn’t have been unreasonable.

Greater urgency, especially at te breakdown, big men fighting to stay on feet so the support gets there and proving the defence, including the blindside, rather than kicking away possession, and dead, in good attacking positions needs to change. “appear comfortable”, who are you referring to? No way are people I know or myself comfortable. Eddie feeds a line that he has been brought back in to prepare for the RWC. That’s his line or Ham’s. We want consistency and wins from the Wallabies. We ain’t winning the RWC despite Eddie’s big mouthing. No team has turned up to a RWC after a 38% win rate in the previous 4 years (less now in the 2nd EJ era) and won. You don’t just lose multiple matches and say we are gonna win and it happens. The 4 year cycle is the biggest cop out ever for a coach. EJ used it in the Eng post and he is still banging the drum. He talked big before the Melb Bled Cup and we got flogged. Shut up, prep the team, and go for silverware. If you don’t deliver anything in the next 18 months, move on.

Maybe he sees what I see. Appointing EJ has led to a crisis in coaching talent in Aus. McKellar is gone, Larkham (and others) see that he has no path to Wallabies head coach role in next 5 years, EJ appoints guys with no rugby experience (Hodgson) in key roles and frankly Lord and probably lots of others are very unhappy. Why wouldn’t you be? Great coaching pathways being built in Aus rugby when someone like Tallis rag doll gets appointed like this!!!
