Ball was between Hodges shoulder and Yatos chin probably harder hit than if it had been the shoulder- high carry unfortunate for Yato.

The ball appears to be between Hodges shoulder and Yatos head. (2:00 seconds and 8 seconds in video.) Right arm does come up late.

I thought CLL took a particularly heavy knock early in the game and wasn’t the same after. Probably should have come off before 1/2 time. Beale to bench. Good to see Pocock get through the 80 mins. He should be better for the run but not that influential by his standards.

Looking at this in slow motion Hodge is set just outside the %m line and does not move his feet before impact but does brace as Yato steps back in from his outside intending to run through Hodge (successfully!) Hodge does get his left arm up but not his right. I cant see how he can be accused of a shoulder “charge when he is completely stationary and Yato changed direction to run through him.
Did Reece Hodge deserve at least a yellow card for this tackle?
If you look at this clip at the 33 second mark Yatos left arm is over Hodges right arm immediately before impact. the ball is between Hodges shoulder and Yatos head. Hodge moving away to his left anticipating Yato to keep moving inside was never going to make an effective tackle.
