Was it the Jillaroos or the Wallaroos out there today?

RA have announced an internal review to find out and have promised to report back when they find out.

Black Ferns demolish Wallaroos in North Harbour, WXV1 aspirations up in smoke

Yep agree Brumbies were far better last night and there’s a big gap after the top 4.

However I wouldn’t be too harsh on the Rebels, they’re facing massive off field pressure about their own personal futures which impacts on field performance and cohesion.

It’s an important bit of context and I think they’ve done well this season, all things considered.

'Like the under 10s': Wright's Jonah Lomu moment sums up Brumbies' power, but cards are a wake up call

Brumbies look stacked for locks already.

Not sure what you mean by ‘develop properly’ but Canham is a terrific player and has come along nicely via Geoff Parling at the Rebels.

'Like the under 10s': Wright's Jonah Lomu moment sums up Brumbies' power, but cards are a wake up call

Yeah Matt I agree.
I was looking forward to this game between two good teams.
But once I heard about the RA mid-week meeting with the Rebels about potential new clubs for next year I knew the game would be a mess in terms of their on-field execution.
Brumbies were way too good and clinical, whilst the Rebels were never a legitimate chance.

The Waratahs seemed to have their financial sins quietly washed away Doc.

If I was a Director at the Rebels I’d be fighting for the Club’s future and wondering why we’re being treated so differently.

Rugby Australia meets with Rebels players to discuss options if Super Rugby franchise is culled

Agree Cannonball. Not enough has been said about how well they’ve done….all things considered.
Credit to Kevin Foote, Nick Stiles and the coaching team for somehow keeping it all together.

You’re always good for an ignorant and condescending comment Doc.

Agree GKL
RA use the words trust and transparency when it suits them. Haven’t seen much of it in their actions during the past decade.

He’s an outstanding rugby person. The code needs people like him to stay involved.

Rugby Australia meets with Rebels players to discuss options if Super Rugby franchise is culled

What a shambles.

Would have thought RA needed to make a call on the Club’s future before sending Peter Horne in to discuss possible landing options for players next year.

Good luck to Kevin Foote trying to get his team focussed and ready for their game this week with all these ongoing distractions.

Good examples and well said Carnivean

The Waratahs are where the Blues were a decade ago. Why RA can't make the same mistake NZR did back then

Best way to assess an organisation’s culture Big Dave is through observing their actions and behaviours.

More specifically the culture is defined by what behaviours are accepted and what isn’t.

Who drives those standards or who looks the other way when a ‘powerbroker’ wants influence that goes against those standards, which seems to happen very regularly in NSW rugby.

The Waratahs are where the Blues were a decade ago. Why RA can't make the same mistake NZR did back then

Fair analysis Hamish. I can’t see any of the Aus teams winning Super this season. The Blues and Hurricanes look a touch too strong.

In terms of the Waratahs for me a complete culture re-set needs to happen in the back room first.

For too many years there’s been an entitlement culture. I’m not sure how or why it’s there but it’s existed for many years.

You see it in the GPS schools and their junior rep teams, you see it in some of the influential Sydney Clubs, you see it in the behaviour of NSW ‘powerbrokers’, you see it everywhere at RA.

Until it’s addressed the Tahs are in a rinse and repeat cycle of mediocrity.

With all the resources, pipeline of players, sponsors and infrastructure it’s a rich rugby environment that shouldn’t have any excuses for lame performances year after year.

The Waratahs are where the Blues were a decade ago. Why RA can't make the same mistake NZR did back then

I feel for DC (seems like a good hard working rugby guy) but this is a change that’s been coming for awhile.

I’d be going after Kevin Foote (if the Rebels are out). He’s done a great job, especially under the circumstances. Perfect coach to rebuild a team and culture etc. Nick Stiles would be a handy addition too.

The Waratahs must be one of the most inept sporting clubs in Aus. So many advantages with player pipelines, infrastructure, sponsors etc yet they always struggle to be better than mediocre.

Their ‘back office’ probably needs a clean-out more urgently than the coaching/playing group.

Tahs confirm Darren Coleman departure, search already underway for new coach

Is there anyone else you’d like banished?

The Wrap: A slap, three trips and a telling slip of the tongue - plus the case for an eight team finals series

Onya James. You’ve turned into my favourite Monday morning parody poster.

You should write an article or two instead of personally attacking the best article/author we get each week on the Roar.

The Wrap: A slap, three trips and a telling slip of the tongue - plus the case for an eight team finals series

Kevin Foote should be acknowledged.

With everything going on off-field he’s still able to get his team very competitive each week. Most teams would have fallen apart by now.

Remarkable leadership in amongst all the ambiguity.

Tahs should be looking at him if DC goes.

'Always fighting, always Rebels': Chiefs hold on after late penalty in emotion-filled Melbourne send-off

If this is the end for the Rebels the Tahs should go and get Kevin Foote as their next coach.

He’s done a remarkable job this year.

Most teams would have imploded weeks ago, with all the off field uncertainty.

COMMENT: Bizarre selection call that sums up chaos and disconnect at Super Rugby's biggest basket case

Yep read that story.
The NSW CEO got off very lightly if that’s the only level of scrutiny applied.
He can count himself lucky everything NSW related is buried under the RA banner.

The Wrap: Spare a thought for injured players as Super Rugby’s two rutting rhinos deliver an epic final preview

Yeah agree Harry.

Most Super club’s finances aren’t in good shape to my understanding. I think the Tahs posted a $4million plus loss this past fin year yet no-one seems to be talking about why and how that came to be.

My broader point is there seems to be plenty of posters just happy to dance on the grave of a Club that’s worked hard to grow the game in a non-traditional rugby market.

I’d much prefer everyone pulling together in Aus rugby rather than tearing each other apart.

The Wrap: Spare a thought for injured players as Super Rugby’s two rutting rhinos deliver an epic final preview

Another terrific weekly wrap Geoff, thanks.

Good weekend of rugby. The Kiwi games were particularly good and importantly big crowds on hand to enjoy it. It seems a long time ago since a decent crowd turned up for any Aus games.

The Force played well and looked good against the Drua. The recent additions to the playing roster have been good ones. Not sure what happens to the Drua when they travel? They seem to be missing Frank Lomani quite a bit.

I really enjoy your regular reference to the human element of rugby. So many stories behind what we see during the 80 minutes.

Lastly great reminder about the important work of the Orange Academy in Vic. This has been a terrific partnership with the Rebels.

Whilst many on here seemingly enjoy sticking the boot into the club they’ve worked hard to build pathways and partnerships that are important and should be celebrated. Long may the Orange Academy continue.

The Wrap: Spare a thought for injured players as Super Rugby’s two rutting rhinos deliver an epic final preview

Good game.

Kevin Foote and Nick Stiles deserve a lot of credit for the Rebels remaining competitive this year. The off-field problems would have derailed most teams by now.

'Perhaps it's surgery': Reds win ugly over Rebels to keep top four hopes alive as big-name Wallabies forced off

Yeah I tend to agree the Reds deserve to be rewarded with Wallaby jerseys based on performances thus far. Their forwards in particular.

I think it’s also worth noting the context of the stress the Rebels players have been enduring with the off field stuff. They’re well positioned on the table, which is remarkable and demonstrates significant resilience.

Many of their players should also be in the mix and I hope Carter Gordon is one of them.

Many of the Brums will also get included but it was strange to see their pack get outmuscled by the Drua last week. Valetini, Cale and Reimer have been their best. Ikitau should also be there.

Five things: The Reds have flipped the script - and it promises to be rewarded at the Wallabies selection table

Adsa I’m guessing a lot of their debt was costs associated with being on the road for two years: 20/21.

With very short notice they had to leave Melbourne and set up camp in other parts of the country for the whole super season.

I can only imagine the costs (potentially several millions of dollars) to house and feed the squad/staff (probably about 40 people) for 4 months each of those years.

Everyone seems to have forgotten this part of the story even though it wasn’t long ago.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia gaslights Rebels staff and why ‘I Can’t Go For That’

Sorry James I gotta agree with Geoff here.

Kevin Foote and the staff would be feeling pretty isolated right now.

He’s shown great leadership in my view. Remarkable the team are still in the finals mix.

I’m not sure why you’re so pro RA and anti the Rebels.

Over the past decade RA have been a mess. I struggle to trust them these days. Your blind faith is admirable.
