Couldn’t agree more. Makes the shield pretty well meaningless selection wise for the test side. Smith will more than likely fill his boots against the windies – and the selectors will be lauded for their successful move.

Most enjoyable day of cricket. Wouldn’t have liked to be an opening bat today, but well done to Travis Head and good to see Green in the runs as he will hopefully be a key for the next decade. Hopefully Carey gets a reasonable score. Should be great viewing for the next 3 or 4 days.

I love your optimism Dem – loved the read. By no way am I an expert but I doubt that the dees will make the 8 and Ben Brown will not be the answer to the dees forward line woes. One thing for sure the dees will finish in front of my team who I am pretty sure will be collecting a piece of cutlery at seasons end. Can’t wait for the season to start and I wish I had Dem’a optimism – here’s to a full completed season hopefully ????

I think Carey’s batting is overrated and will struggle at test level against the worlds best bowling. The Australian test keeper should be the best glove man in Australia regardless of hi batting prowess

Well done to the aussies and well played by nz – great 2 test series on testing pitches for the batters. Great to see marsh, Carey and Cummins getting us home. With regards to the future I just hope whichever young batsman they get into the side in the next few years I just hope they give them 2 series to cement there spot in the side.
