wouldn’t mind throwing mason in there as well
2014 State of Origin: the best NSW lineup
Look, so much can happen between now and 2014 series. There will be injuries and players forms will sky rocket or slump. At the moment I think the best team is
1. Dugan
2. Morris
3. Morris
4. Ferguson
5. Hayne
6. Maloney
7. Carney
8. Grant
9. Farah
10. Tamou
11. Bird
12. Hoffman
13. Gallen
14. Lewis
15. Watmough
16. Merrin
17. Fifita
Jennings and Idris were unlucky to miss out. I think having Dugan at FLB and Hayne on the wing is the right way to go. Morris bros have to be there. Carney pick over Reynolds cause he has experience and can still play well in an under performing team. Fifita is in awesome for atm and the rest of the team is pretty self explainitory
2014 State of Origin: the best NSW lineup
Josh Reynolds hammered Papaplii… He also made no errors and played only 14 mins. Boyd Cordner was the stupid selection
It’s 7:30pm on Wednesday and the Blues have already lost the series
I agree, I reckon we can’t just shut down the halves or just shut down Inglis or just shut down the forwards, if QLD get put under pressure all over the park the can’t execute their game. For NSW to win everything needs to work how u said in a chain reaction with forwards not being able to get the halves in position etc. We need to get repeat sets early tire out thier forwards make them lose their spark so their backs get frustrated
Where Origin Game 3 will be won
So kicking to the corners in open spaces whilst keeping it in isn’t good?
Where Origin Game 3 will be won
Just to let you guys know I wrote this before the news about Gal and Cordner replacing Reynolds
Where Origin Game 3 will be won
yeah and he was in hospital the night before game 2 so imagine if we had pressured him in that game
Where Origin Game 3 will be won
Farah is a great captain and had a go at it whilst Gallen was on the bench
State of Origin 2013: Robbie Farah new Blues captain for Game 3
yes i am aware gal was injured. However, this has been Merrin’s break through season so last years stats would be unfair
BREAKING: Paul Gallen ruled out of State of Origin Game 3
sure,
Merrin
235 HIT Ups
1935 Run Meters
468 Tackles
Gallen
173 HU
1582 RM
236 TK
BREAKING: Paul Gallen ruled out of State of Origin Game 3
Yeah stats can either make a player look better or worse, for a player like Cam Smith they make him look worse and for a player like Gal they make him look better. Take Lockyer, never had very good stats but he was always first picked for QLD and Aus because he had been there before. Gal is the same in the fact they always pick him because he has been there before but different in the fact the stats back him up. Everyone knew Locky’s game was in his leadership
BREAKING: Paul Gallen ruled out of State of Origin Game 3
Yeah, I certainly hope J Moz gets in the action
BREAKING: Paul Gallen ruled out of State of Origin Game 3
Merrin is. He has made far more offloads than Gallen and is very hard to put down as he is so short and stocky
BREAKING: Paul Gallen ruled out of State of Origin Game 3
I don’t think this is as bad as it sounds. Woods works just as hard but can’t hit as hard. Would like to have seen Mason playing as he would defiantly do the job for us. Gallen has a tendency to hog the ball when his team are behind and rejects other opportunities. In saying that though, he is a big loss however I think Hayne is a bigger one. Fifita, Tamou and Woods will really need to run hard and put energy into all their hit ups
BREAKING: Paul Gallen ruled out of State of Origin Game 3
And also remember the grandfinal where the Storm lost 40-0 against Manly? Guess who wasn’t playing… And the reason the Storm lost 5 straight without Slater is because all their plays and the way they structure their attacking game is based around the big 3, so when they lose one its like taking a cog out of a clockwork watch. It can’t work
Numbers one and nine to decide State of Origin Game 3
You look at him as a collection of stats. A good dummy half is more than that. You dont get stats for calling out the right set play at the right time, you don’t get stats for leading by example and firing the team up. These are things Smith does. He also makes about 40 tackles per game and his dummy half runs are always when the markers are out of position and always gains over 10 meters. Also he hardly ever makes errors
Numbers one and nine to decide State of Origin Game 3
No, forwards win every game for you. Halves can only do their stuff if the forwards can get them in good field positions. The only thing that makes you think that is the fact that QLD have to win games through their backs because their forwards aren’t as good as ours.
2013 State of Origin: Game 3 preview
no he has good vision and is developing a running game. Also repeat sets is where the blues have lacked most over the last few years
Blues playmaker Pearce on borrowed time
If u think pearce was a bad idea, we have now picked McManus. Even by game two he wasn’t even in the running for a jumper then he scores 4 tries in one game and Daley picks him. Didn’t they learn with Merritt that just cause u can score tries doesn’t mean u should be picked! Wish Fergo hadn’t been an idiot, then we would have nothing to worry about
Blues playmaker Pearce on borrowed time
Yeah I reckon we have a good chance. Blair made 20 hit ups last week and I think reddy in the forwards was a good idea!
Why desperate Tigers can brave the Storm
He didn’t do it to help either team. He gave qld another set of 6 which was bad for the blues but obviously the guy was on the piss all game and was drunk as hell
What if the streaker never happened?
