The fact that the 2 “rugby heartland” teams in the 2 cities with a combined 6mill people are only attracting small crowds is the biggest failure.

Yes I get what Waugh means by “no correlation” (and my guy feel is that he speaks honestly) but it’s an unfortunate choice of words. To someone with a (seemingly well-founded) concern that there might be a correlation, it looks either like weasel words or that he doesn’t appreciate the gravity of what is happening.

If he demonstrates he’s fully committed then maybe. Otherwise it’s a bad example for the other rookies and fringe players to reward a bloke who turns up when he feels like it.
