My 2020 NRL grand final preview
I miss the super slo-mo replays of spectacular tries on my super big HD TV. With this new system we get one replay from one angle and it is up to the director to use the best replay which they often miss. Cutting out the bunker makes the game less of a TV viewer experience.
Also I’m fatigued with all the old players harping on about bringing fatigue ‘back’ into the game and therefore pushing for less stoppage time, as if its a holiday out there. Todays players are much bigger and fitter now than they were back then, so the game is different, I’d say it is better, so give them a rest occasionally as the bunker reviews tries. The “set restart” is doing the job on fatigue leave the bunker out of it.

Broncos being the wooden spooners is a great thing. No club has deserved it more nor fallen so far. Bring on a second team in brisbane and the broncos may not have that sense of entitlement, nor may they have all those third party agreements we don’t know about (wink wink). This year I don’t blame the coach/s but rather the TV schedulers for upsetting the broncos and expecting them to play at times other than friday night. Also the broncos suffered from the change of rules for alfie, he was no longer able to be out there coaching all the time, the broncos didn’t know what to do! Forget covid 2020 will be remembered with joy as the year the Broncos got the wooden spoon.

Perhaps what let the Broncos down was not playing every friday night, or all those third party agreements in a one team city, or an over inflated sense of entitlement, or the lack of Alfie on the field all the time coaching them. But I am happy.

SBW and his manager will get the media to play clubs against each other to maximize their dollars at the expense of a player or players lower on the ladder who may just be starting out on their dream of playing in the NRL. I’ll rather have the loyal players playing in the NRL and being rewarded than the mercenaries who jump from code to code and club to club cosy with their posse of yes boys sponging off their wealth.
