Not you, GJ.

It's time for an apology from the AFL

That is complete crap! He got what he deserved for pulling on a jumper by being knocked out? You are irrelevant as a commentator.

Spot on Col. Could t have said it better.

He turned to view him then swing back, it’s intentional. Rewatch it. He meant it 100%.

AFL to appeal two-week ban on Houli

Sorry to say taking their pick 15 and pick 37 isn’t good enough. Take pick 2 & pick 15 off them!! It’s the AFL looking after their toy project, if it was a Victorian club it would be their first two picks as punishment.

Bans, loss of draft picks on the cards as AFL nears Whitfield decision

Actually he’s fallen because of lack of defensive game, he refuses to defend the ball when I’m the oppositions hands. That is from TAC coach’s mouth.

Katfish, which then leads to turnover then on score at the other end. Sometimes as a mid, I’d rather the safer kick then the quick turnover.

Taranto hasn’t got pace over Brodie, if anything Brodie has that and kicking over Taranto. Taranto kicks at 54% efficiency, lower then Brodie’s. SPS has the pace over them both but lacks consistency over the others.

With Liam on this, Docherty by the length of Australia.

Who are the AFL's next captains (Part 1)

Tom Lynch by the length of Australia

Who is the AFL’s best young key forward under the age of 24?

Casboult played a new role as a high half forward, presented down the line to mark and move into the Carlton forward 50. Yes his kicking for goal has been highlighted & the missed hand pass on to Buckley, but this new role he has may make him. Still provides a contest, ie the tap on to Daisy for a goal.

Jaksch will be the next forward to play if either Jones or Casboult falter, is the best of the Carlton forwards to kick on goal too.

Byrne is a talent, looked very good across half back, takes the game on too.

Fyfe injured as Blues stun Dockers

It was right in front of the ump, of course it got penalised. Serial pest Ballantyne was ill disciplined & frustrated, acted out & got caught. Had nothing to do with acting by Murphy.

Fyfe injured as Blues stun Dockers

Every player at the Dons during the drug saga, has a chance to be a free agent due to Essendons negligence. Hurley while being contracted, can void his contract to leave if he wishes. Same with Heppell and the other contracted players.
Hurley was an All-Australian too, that will provide a bigger value in free agency.?

The AFL needs to fix the ridiculous compensatory pick model

I understand the critical thinking as to drafting per a best available player but at some form, height is needed within. This year’s draft was more for drafting needs of talls for the blues, needed that spine to build from in later years drafts.

A long way back for the once mighty Blues

One of the more childish comments I’ve seen on here in a while, Doug.

A long way back for the once mighty Blues

I understand they are harder to assess, it proves far costlier to nab a KPP later in free agency, then it is to grab them as a draft pick. Freo bidding with GWS for Cam McCarthy, Boyd for Griffen plus a pick; to name a few.

A long way back for the once mighty Blues

Have to say Aransan, you bid high for tall players, either it’s done at draft time or in free agency. The lists quest to build around talls, was needed at draft time.

A long way back for the once mighty Blues

Why are we bickering over colour blindness? Seriously!!

Carlton: Another year of the Blues

Cuningham is being managed as is the rest of the side in the lead up of the season proper. He should debut next game.

Eighteen players to watch in the 2016 NAB Challenge

Darren Gaspar was taken at number one in draft, a full back in 1993 and Martin Leslie was taken by Brisbane in 1986 as a key back also.

Eighteen players to watch in the 2016 NAB Challenge

There are no valid points of Jones, he is a waste of a spot of the list.

Carlton: Another year of the Blues

Tempted to pick Jones? Not even Blues faithful would pick Jones as any tall option. We drafted kids with height to supplant Jones in any way.

As to Jamison being that key back, again its merits to a negating role, would you take Talia out of the crows because you want more rebound? He plays the role we need, he may not be the best full back in the comp, but he’s the best we’ve got at that role. At 29-30, he shouldn’t be traded out either, not with others being far more talented being looked at on the team. White at 6’2″ is too small to play as the FB, and Rowe is the back up to Jamison.
Plowman should when not injured or Weitering will provide taller rebound roles.

Wood was in last year as both Kruezer and Warnock were injured, just a stop gap. A rookie to supply effort when needed.

Carlton: Another year of the Blues

Hoping for at least 4 to 6 games for McKay, Macca. Still very very raw

Carlton: Another year of the Blues

Aransan, I agree. McKay will be developed most of the year, blooded in Thursday’s game as he’s on the list as read just now. Have to build his tank and add weight to him, most definitely Weitering, Cuningham and C.Curnow are in front of him in development.

Carlton: Another year of the Blues

I agree with both Macca and Col that making a starting 22 as to this point where as to the start of pre season of the competition hasn’t even started yet and likewise the change of the personnel at the club. The newer personnel, both at draftees and free agent signing, are still all bidding for selections; it’s far too early to name a ‘correct starting 22’. That being said, every one is onboard that this is the first year of rebuild, no matter how many wins the teams gets, this is a year to develop the list. Like many other teams at the same year of progression before them, it’s not about the wins, it’s about the new tactics and development.

Your 22 is too tall to play with Phillips, Kreuzer, Wood and Casboult within the side. Kreuzer will start at ruck, to follow on from his last 10 games of last year. Wood is a rookie, will only play if others are injured, as he did last year off that rookie list. Phillips is looking at main back up role and Casboult looks only to pinch hit when needed, as will McKay and Gorringe. Gorringe is looking at the CHF role due to his athleticism and mobility, thou again too early to know where he’ll settle. McKay will be blooded hopefully early thou has to build endurance and his body, still quite raw. Casboult will definitely be stationed closer to goal at full forward, with an increased kissing efficiency and marking.

Jamison is head of Rowe, Plowman, Jaksch & White as key back; like Macca said you’ll see less of Rowe and White at the key back roles. White may have negating roles within midfield and as defensive forward, only going back as injuries happen. Rowe will be used to help blood in Weitering, Glass-McCasker and Plowman, as to timing. Jaksch needs to build weight and strength, looks to be more of a forward, one of the best kicks on goal, just needs to be developed there.

Walker is due to go back to his forward pocket/ half forward role, the forward line needs that mobile forward role with Everitt there also. Charlie Curnow will be blooded across half forward/ forward pocket, will be also used in the midfield as to rest the main midfielders as with Everitt and Walker. The comment to Everitt’s former coaching; Eade, Longmire and Malthouse are obviously scrubs hey?

Armfield certainly will play at times, thou not before others, just a depth player now. Graham, Buckley, Boekhorst, Cuningham, Kerridge, Docherty and Tuohy will be pushed throughout midfield from half forward to half back to add great flexibility to our midfield. It’ll allow Gibbs, Cripps and Murphy to rest forward due to interchange restrictions. Cuningham will be blooded early, he’s got that xfactor about him being able to be used inside and outside. Boekhorst and Cuningham will add that quickness that’s been missing on the outside. Tutt may surprise, but others have past him, as have others past Jones ( mattyb, were they drafted by your mob? Didn’t Sheenan rate them well like Cordy and Jarrod Grant? Tom Boyd? ).

SOS2 with thoughts to build up as a forward, not now but as to future. His skill set and build need some development but has potential. His father didn’t wish for the bias to pick him within the draft but others within the recruitment department had great wraps on him, hence them picking him. As others said even the Dons looked at him, all the while knowing the blues were to draft him. To say his father had dishonesty about the final decision as to SOS2, isn’t viewed well. To the blues supporters, his drafting had engaging thoughts to it, especially as a father/son pick. Many were hoping for him to be drafted.

As to the list comments, pretty sure the dogs and freo teams have had lessers teams. Freo with their great successes especially thru inception to early 2000s. Wasn’t it just a few years back in the prior time to your current coach for the dogs? Every team has had bad lists from time to times, to view the blues list without viewing your own teams lists former mismanagements smacks for ignorance. Yes 20 years since the blues last premiership, thou others have had such dour luck too, that’s how elusive the premiership glory is for all but the few clubs are.

Furthermore with the SOS2 drafting via others then his father and with the direction under Trigg ( ladies league and breaking up of old school practices) looks like old boys club has changed for the better. Our team is wishing to push past old guard. There is change at the blues, those outside may not see it, those inside certainly do.
