Another useless and irrelevant comment, he has had a lot more good performances over is 98 games. But yes, opposition supporters whom watch him perhaps twice a year knows best.

Six Points: The move to save the Swans' season, the worst thing a fan can do, and why the Blues are closer than you think

I tend to agree with most, but 6 points we’ve learnt and 2 about Carlton? All we’ve learned is they have some good moments (and that’s normal given their list) but they could only kick 1 goal in more than 2 quarters of footy against a Bulldogs team that was not at his best….I like to see the glass half full but I feel like this is a bottle and not a glass anymore. If Carlton had an average list, a cascade of injuries etc…I could potentially agree but what their performance with the available players is clearly insufficient and very mediocre. I did mention we’d know more after their next 5 games, they’ve used one joker already.

Regarding Mason Cox, he was already very consistant when he played last year and he is now truely a good performing ruckman. Credit to the coaches, he used to be hot and cold but now he is definitely showing some good consistancy.

Well done to Adelaide, they would have been stiffed after losing two games where they mostly performed very well. Would be fun to see a showdown as part of an elimination final!

Haha that is so true on Adams 😂

Love the bloke and his grunt but when you see the footy in his hands for more than 2 seconds you start thinking about turnover

Michael Voss has Carlton shaping as a bottom six candidate

Adelaide players would be a bit stiff…with a bit more experience or precision they could be almost on top of the ladder. 2 good gamesin a row but unfortunately no win. Similar story with Gold Coast, let’s see if those 2 teams can keep going (loosing when playing well is not that easy to overcome).

Bulldogs are in form, the loss of Treloar will hurt them and the upcoming game against Carlton is definitely one of those “8 points match”. I don’t know what to think aout Carlton…had them at top 4 and now wondering if they will make the 8. We will know more about them in 4 to 5 weeks time.

Good to see Stephenson finding some form, I really thought he would be a great player after his first two seasons. Let’s see if he can keep building up from here.

I think you are a bit harsh with the saints…given where they’ve been for so long, some strong structure , even if more defensive , is probably what they needed. They were probably more offensive against Port, but their deliveries were poor and they ended up losing the game. Let’s also remember that St Kilda and West Coast started the season with probably the biggest injury list. A few more players will come in for St Kila (King etc…)and it will be interestesting to see if they can do a better second half compared to last year.

AFL Power Rankings Round 8: Collingwood overcome, North on struggle street

You must be frustrated with your team results Macca…seriously this is some really silly comment . Collingwood this, supporters that, Macrae again…you’d be bored without Collingwond wouldn’t you ? ????

TOM MORRIS: Buddy booing is a blight on the game and McRae must send a powerful message to Magpies fans

Tom,
A coach has an impact on players. Not his role to educate supporters. So no that is not his job sorry.
We are also too precious here…ok booing is silly and in my view not a big deal until it’s linked to racism.
Look at other sports, all champions in most countries and popular sports went through it . Not saying it’s right or wrong but this thing is taking a lot more importance than it should .

Have you seen Barcelona supporters clapping for Ronaldo? Madrid supporters clapping for Messi? I know most will say not the same sport etc…again I haven’t seen any offensive chants or posters like we can see in other countries.

Yes it’s silly booing one of the greatest. But Swans supporters please…you were booing a kid sitting on a bench last year. ????

I wonder why you always need to give a free jab at Collingwood Macca. Yea we don’t score as much as we’d like, but we’ve also had to deal with plenty of players out and no ruckman for a while…( we looked much better when Cox was rucking today ) I’d rather see positive and see that we are for now the best 4th quarter team and we have limited Sydney to 1 goal only in the second half. The likes of Lipinski, Cameron and McStay will definitely improve our list once they come back.

As for Carlton, we will know more about them after the next 4 to 5 games. Personally I had then top 4 before the start of the season and I am now wondering if they will make the 8…plenty of games left though.

Six Points: Don't write off Carlton just yet, 2023's dumbest act, and why Dee's ban is an utter disgrace

Agreed, and this should be reviewed as it does not seem very fair. Collinwgood probably had their “worth game” vs Adelaide and an awful 1st quarter (trie Adelaide was excellent except for kicking). Essendon also had a terrible first quarter before settling in. Geelong and Adelaide had a few more days and looked much sharper at the start of the game, I don’t think it’s a coincidence.

Is it fair to criticise the AFL scheduling so far this season?

Not really about the rivalry, more because it’s a Derby and it would be good for the AFL to promote a game with two non victoria teams when possible. GWS is having a decent start, Sydney reached the grand final last year, so I thought this game deserved a better slot. Scheduling North Melbourne or West Coast on any prime time is not going to do anything good…

Some other schedules don’t make sense…round 9 Carlton/Bulldogs should in my view be on channel 7, and probably at the MCG (could attract a good crowd?), and will be played at Marvel on Kayo. I don’t know the ins and outs and how all their contracting work, but some decisions are quite surprising.

Is it fair to criticise the AFL scheduling so far this season?

It is fair to criticize…Sydney vs GWS is definitely the biggest game of the round. Why can’t this be scheduled on a prime slot? Instead we have North Melbourne and West Coast…no offense but currently they won’t attract much crowd especially as the weather gets colder. Can’t blame suppprters for not turning up if all you see is a 100 points demolition.

Next week is another interesting choice.. Friday night should be a great fixture (as a neutral I’d happily watch it) and then we have GWS vs Bulldogs on Saturday night when Geelong vs Adelaide and Collingwood vs Sydney look a lot more attractive. Perhaps they should look at fixing the game’s start not that long in advance.

Probably add Essendon…they have improved considerably and Stringer is finding some really good form. Laverde’s injury will hurt them and they could be a little light in the finish line.

Six Points: Pies' crazy bravery trumps critically cautious Crows, and Simpson's pathetic Eagles can't go on like this

One of the most gutsy win I’ve seen from the Pies…game could/should have been burried at quarter/half time. Adelaide was impressive, if they continue they will still be in comes September. They successfully limited the impact of Nick Daicos, but this time his brother Josh had a great last quarter…
For the Pies, any win is a great bonus as we get one week closer to get a few playerd back (touch wood nothing happens to Moore as he is our most important player and by far).

Tassie deserves another stadium and a footy club, besides it could make some really fun weekend getaway. A good excuse to cross the water, watch some footy and get some good Pinot noir and seafood!

And Toby Greene…I hear a lot about Nick Daicos, Cameron etc (and ritghly so) but in my view he would be top 5 or top 3 players since the start of the season. He could be part of the circle of the greatest to never win a premiership.
