Sounds am bit suss to me.Both suffer a reaction in the early hours of the morning in the same house at the same time?
I know everyone is different & i too was on Oxycodone early this year after an op with no side effects.Maybe alcohol had something to do with it.Anyway the main thing is we all hope they are ok.

Contrary to most people i don’t think Merrin will be such a massive loss.Give me someone who can change the momentum of a game anytime ahead of someone like him who is a good stat man & a favourite of those who play fantasy leagues.To me someone like Packer or Masoe will change a game with a charge or hit.

I don’t think that decision by Maxwell was the reason for him being overlooked for any games this week.It may have something to do with the regular wrong decisions he makes during the season proper.
My message to refs in the finals? Call it as you see it!
I wouldn’t call them chokers,however i think some of the press do overstate their achievements.Lets face it they normally do have a very good roster (of which most players come from other clubs) so they should be a major force every year.Even though i am not a manly fan imo they are the ones who are September specialists.

The three tackles were all cowardly dangerous acts with intent & should be dealt with accordingly,however i’m not holding my breath as ex bulldog greenburg will send a memo to the review commitee to make sure the charges if any are minimum.This way the league can say well we did charge them.In all three tackles the ball carrier had his back to the offenders as well.Heroes.

Fair enough Dan i take your points however just because he has reffed some of those games doesn’t take away the fact he can be influenced by the crowd(he’s not robinson crusoe there).You say he calls it as he sees it which wasn’t on display on sunday night.Good choice on the sauces anyway.

Sorry Dan but even as an assistant ref, Klein is not up to the mark.He imo opinion listens to the home crowd & sure enough at the right moment “penalty”.The other major flaw with him is when going to the video ref he always says try which makes it near impossible to over rule.There has been plenty from him lately especially the dragons titans game recently & if as you say he changed his mind the other night well that should never be on & as such he should be nowhere near a semi final game whatsoever.
PS what was your choice of sauce for the bacon & egg roll.

You watch how many favourable “decisions”the dogs get in the coming weeks compared to the dragons.As long as mary & taylor continue to not say anything about the refs the more the refs will not be concerned about upsetting them.
Des Hasler's comments were out of line, but not by much
The trouble with the video ref ruling is that the onfield ref has to make a decision which then makes in near impossible to over rule.
The tries in question were all doubtful at best but because Klein ruled try & video only showed 99.9% not 100% evidence against him they had to award them.Klein has for the most part this season gone with the “try” call even though he probably in most cases had no idea & passed the buck.When the capt has asked him why they have come to that decision his response is the man upstairs has decided not me?.The titans 1st try he was 10 metres away on the other side of the ruck with no chance of seeing if the ball touched the ground but of course he said try & replays showed inconclusive evidence to over rule.On all three tries if the call was no try then they would of been no try.The system is wrong.The ref should state the obvious which is i have no idea & let the video make a decision.

As usual Dan interesting insight from you,however i really don’t know why we have touchies anyway.The amount of forward passes & blocking of chasers on kicks they miss is amazing.There was one game on the weekend where a winger scored in the corner only for the touchie to remain in the field of play indicating a no try due to going over the touchline & when reviewed the player was a metre in the field of play.

Sorry but you just can’t change the venue for the grand final just because there are two qld teams.The make up of the grand final is not known until a week before which makes it impossible to just say on the Mon oh we have two qld teams so all you supporters who have purchased your tickets at premium $$ you now must travel north as well as pay for accomidation.The grand final is a nsw tradition & should remain as such.The one thing i can say for the afl is that they stick to tradition & never lose sight of their past or fans in regards to their game.Do you think they would change their grand final if say west coast were playing the suns? Not on your life.

Was also the ref in recent dogs v dragons game where he made 2 bad decisions at important times against the dragons which led to tries.His answer was if i had have penalised them i would have had some angry fans/players coming at me.What is he doing thinking about how the fans or players will react? Was also the ref in the Anzac day clash when he refused to go to the video after the dragons pleaded for a Farrell try & replays showed he scored.His answer oops i got it wrong.He seems to get plenty wrong god help the grand final because he will be the ref.

Thanks for that Dan.As for “Kevin” Klein not taking Ashley’s advice on board maybe he was busy taking the opinion of the parramatta trainer who was quick to tell the other touchy it went forward.

Going by your theory Dan then both tries scored by the dragons against parra on sat were tries.
Benji passed the ball on the line whilst running forward & Nabuli caught the ball 1/2 metre over line so you say while he is running it is not forward.
Farrell was facing his own goal & batted the ball back from goal line & Aitken picked up a metre from goal to score.
No physics need in either case just common sense from the officials but as usual nrl officials with whistles or flags have none.

I hope they pick Inglis at fullback & leave him there as a blues fan.Boyd worries me more with his ball playing.It has been obvious when Inglis has filled in for Slater in the test team that they have struggled(& lost most times) & Inglis has had little impact.

The silence is deafening coming out of nrl headquarters.If the tackle had finished in a disaster Smith,Greenburg & all of the other cronies would be in the press patting each other on the backs saying we will look after Soward & Jackson will be severely punished etc.What a bunch of hypocrites.Some poor bugger will twist someones ankle in a tackle & get a heftier suspension,go figure!!

Exactly Critta,This decision is a disgrace it is obvious that somebody has to be injured before the NRL takes a tough stance.It’s amazing that Klemmer gets 3 weeks for getting in a refs(who by that stage had lost control of the game) face of which i don’t condone, but Jackson only gets 1 week for such a dangerous tackle.Where is Dave Smith & his tough talk now?

Too many ex players involved & not enough business types.I personally don’t care about parra but if they really do wan’t to become a powerhouse they really do need to change the culture in the club of meat raffles,jobs for the boys & ex team mates taking pot shots at each other.This i think is the main reason someone like Sterlo has never had the motivation to get involved.

The Queenslanders have become too arrogant due in part to their domination over the last eight years & they now don’t like the “young” Blues players standing up to them.In recent times when the game has become close the nsw players would becfome overawed by the queensland players which caused them to lose all the close matches.In the last few games the tide has started to turn & the nsw team are no longer afraid of them which has gotten the queenslanders noses out of joint.History is littered with ageing players gettin cranky as they get older & this is just another example of this.Anyway apparently some of this goes back to the recent all nations series where Parker & co treated some of the younger nsw players poorly & now it is payback time & i for one love it.

Spot on GM I thought the tackle was sickening.jackson picked Soward up walked & then drove him into the ground in a very dangerous position.It will be interesting to see how tough the NRL really are on this type of tackle when the charges are disclosed.I personally think he should be looking at 4 weeks minimum,however i’m not holding my breath.

Exactly,That Sutton will always favour one side over the other especially the maroons.Jesus he can also find a penalty late in the tackle count.He must of pinged nsw on tackle 4 or 5 three times last night (as well as game 1) & how he couldn’t see Smith holding onto Gallen when penalising Gallen at the start is amazing.I think the only times nsw received any penalties it was blown by Cummins.
