Congrats to you guys. As a pom, like the majority here, I follow the ashes on my phone, happy if we best you but if we lose….meh.

Don’t really lose any sleep over it.
I think we see cricket like you see soccer. Test cricket won’t be relevant here in 15 years, about 5% roughly pay attention to it now anyway.

FLEM’S VERDICT: Starc's new weapon reduced Poms to scrambled dregs

Well we’ve seen others do it for so long, we may as well join in

It's coming home, or it's coming Rome: Controversy as England reach Euro final v Italy

Every country cheats to some extent, mostly in team contact sports. It happens for and against every country. And yes, we would be bleating on about the unfairness if we’re us, just as we did for Lampards “goal” against Germany which was more of a disgrace that this, a there was no doubt the goal had crossed the linek with inches to spare (no doubt other nations didn’t feel the same sense of injustice then as they do for the Danes). So when the shoes on the other foot, the fans it benefits will accept it happily as “these decisions even themselves out”. Fans from every country does this, not just England.

They may just win it then. They are getting that magical ingredient England teams have failed to have in the past, a bit of good fortune. Every team needs a bit to win a tourno. England were lucky with a decision. Then again, Denmark where lucky with the foul they were awarded that lead to their goal.

Overall they had a lucky break but England would’ve been unlucky to lose at they dominated most of the 2nd half and extra time.

The two romantic reasons I'm an Italian in disguise

There is no romantic reason mate, you just want England to lose and that’s fine, just stop the BS. You can try to justify it in whatever way you like, you attended a fantastic Italy game in the past that captured your heart due to the style of their play and the passion of their fans, or a lovely pasta vongolle you were privileged to have experiencd in an out of the way restaurant on the outskirts of Siena that you came across just by chance on a magical holiday from years back. I’d like to believe it but just can’t. If Denmark had won last night, I wouldn’t be reading your article today. Please convince me that this would be published if Denmark had reached the final.

Mate you are so boring, I only managed to read a third of that BS. You must be a delight a dinner parties

Well played, England, but it's not coming home

Here here

Well played, England, but it's not coming home

And frankly, the notion that England are starved of success simply isn’t true any more, not in the last 20 years anyway. Multiple champions in multiple individual and team sports.
Rugby, cricket men and women’s, motoracing, cycling road and track, golf, (not tennis) athletics, rowing, triathlon, boxing, squash, judo, swimming, diving, women’s hockey, winter sports gold medals though we don’t have proper mountains or snow, judo, the list goes on. England starved of success is now a myth

Well played, England, but it's not coming home

Why doesn’t the journo just come straight out and say “I don’t want England to win because I don’t like them”, it’s hilarious. England could just win, at home, good side, bit of luck. I so hope so, It’d be a great to see how many people it would annoy. Of course if they do, they won’t get any credit, even if they win 5 nil, it’ll mostly be England were lucky, the ref robbed Italy, wasn’t a penalty, wasn’t a free kick, anything to avoid giving this team the credit they deserve. They’ve been one of the top 3 teams in this tourn but don’t get the recognition. If any other side played exactly how England have, against exactly the same teams, the reporting on it would be totally different.

Well played, England, but it's not coming home

They are I’m afraid, like it or not

England win World Cup final in thrilling super over finish against New Zealand

Good for you, but for the record books, England are world champions in 2019 and the best team in the world.

Had it been early in the innings, perhaps he would have declared the ball dead, but in that situation with 3 balls to go, he didn’t. 99.99% certain any other batter in any other team would have done the same in that situation, with that amount of pressure.

The Stokes deflection and the spirit of cricket

Things did go their way in the final, that happens in all sports, not as if England haven’t been on the wrong end of a decision in sport, this time it was their turn. Let’s not forget that they lifted that trophy on the back of some of the most scintillating performances throughout the tournament (Morgan v Bangladesh, impressive against India, NZ in the last 2 group games when backs against the wall and outstanding in the semis) not all about just one game.

Five reasons why England's win leaves a bitter taste

Well you’re not an English cricketer Die Hard, and from what I’ve been seeing and hearing all day from the players, I don’t think they’re as bothered as you seem to be, neither are the fans who have been rejoicing since the last ball.

Respect to NZ and I accept it must be a bitter pill to swallow, but we’ve suffered enough heartache in the past to let a ruling which Eng had no influence over diminish the sense of pride now felt for the team.

The 2019 Cricket World Cup final: The best there ever was

Haha, No we don’t mate, deep down I’m enjoying reading all this crap, it’s compulsive.

Shame for you maybe, I’m still on cloud nine

They won the tournament whether you like it or not and no asterisk will be added to their name, personally, I enjoy all the hatred and sour grapes I’m reading, fuels my fire and makes it so much sweeter, keep going.

Stop beating yourself up fella, just enjoy it, may not happen again!

Just a thought, would there have been the same sense of injustice had it been NZ benefiting from the same luck that went for ENG? I seriously have my doubts. Quite confident I would be reading many more “Bad luck England but those are the rules” than I am now.
