Excellent summary!

You hit the nail on the head with the point about broadcasting. The current arrangement of the OnDemand streaming is not good for fans promoting the sport to their friends. Back in the YouTube days it was easy for me as a fan to spam my Facebook feed and messages to friends, and work colleagues with links to Bandits games. With the OnDemand streaming and need to have an account it kills any of that opportunity.

I think a nice low cost approach to get eyes on the ABL is to get games shown on TVs in pubs. For that to happen there needs to be consistency across the way the different teams broadcast their games. The broadcast needs to look (and sound) professional and consistent.

The other thing I’d like to see is promotion of the ABL during ad breaks on MLB games on the MLB.tv. Last time I subscribed to MLB.tv during ad breaks, I would be greeted with “we will be back from the break soon”. Surely it would be in the best interest of the ABL and MLB to cross promote both leagues.
