Doggies Tragic hasn't published any posts yet

Great article. I find it interesting that commentators are fixated with the ruck position as a weakness for the dogs. Agree that defence is a bigger issue. English is just coming into his own. Not everyone is a Darcy or Draper but I read an article recently whereby English’s stats weren’t far off Gawn’s at the same age. He was thrown into the deep end at a very young age and I think his confidence took a knock because of it. Sweet could be the answer if he gets a sustained run in the position. If Schache can continue to improve as a defender, remembering he didn’t train last preseason as one, think that will stiffen up the defence. Don’t think the Doggies will fall out of the eight due to competition for spots is hot. Crozier, Wallis, Richards etc will be waiting. Also don’t expect to see much of Sam Darcy next year. He’s a bean pole who hasn’t played a lot of footy for two years because of Covid. Think he’s more a long term project and won’t be rushed.

Western Bulldogs season 2021 review: Who let the Dogs out?

Greg Clark: The mature-age WAFL sensation your club needs

First thing you’ve ever said that I 100% agree with.

Greg Clark: The mature-age WAFL sensation your club needs

How do you know he did this? Isn’t it possible he went from WA to QLD? If he didn’t visit his parents, so what? The incident with Hunter happened two years ago and I note that Power has conveniently forgotten the Wingard BBQ drink driving scandal when he was at Port. This smacks of a media beat up due to no interesting AFL stories and QLD about to get a new NRL team. If the police find something then throw the book at him but maybe, just maybe, it’s a storm in a teacup. ????????

Bulldogs dismiss Smith police complaint

Really? These guys have been in quarantine for months and have satisfied all the ridiculous state rules to travel between states. Why would they want to go back to Victoria and be locked down again?

Bulldogs dismiss Smith police complaint

Think they’ll be thereabouts next year. The final term capitulation was hard to stomach but I think there is plenty to work with. Melbourne were just too good. Think Dunkley and Treloar didn’t come back to the form they displayed prior to their respective injuries and the quarantining didn’t help with conditioning. No excuses though, the best team this year won the flag. Melbourne deserved it. Feel for their Victorian supporters though. Bit tough that you wait so long for a flag and you can’t celebrate with your team.

Marcus Bontempelli says Dogs' grand final smashing 'wasn't us'

Same here. Head says Demons but heart says Doggies. It’s a tough one.

Five questions ahead of the 2021 AFL grand final

Agree with you about it not getting personal but one thing the players are never in doubt of is that Bevo has their back. Also Treloar copped over the top criticism for just one poor game. Second one back from injury. Think a few scribes and hacks were seeking to put the boot in.

'Made a mockery of the doubters': How every team fared in a mixed weekend of AFL finals

Three of the frees were there. The last, maybe not. He continually puts himself where the ball is and draws the free. He’s like the eveready bunny, always moving. Not his fault the bombers didn’t have an answer to him.

I wonder if there would be all this hate for the Flea if he’d kicked 4 points? He took his chances when he got them and converted, something the Bombers couldn’t do. The Bombers have a very promising future but just weren’t up to the fight yesterday. Once Dunkley went to Parish there was no drive in the middle and no goals in a half of footy is always going to make it hard to win.

Think there’s a few who agree with you. Not a big fan of their coach either but unfortunately I think it’s going to be a Melbourne/Geelong GF.

The 2021 AFL season is destroying my belief system

Fair enough, everyone sees things differently. I also think B Smith needs to work on the defensive aspects of his game. Hopefully the Doggies regain some of their mojo because there are some teams going into finals that are in red hot form.

Six talking points for AFL Round 22: Time to put a line through Richmond?

Don’t think Garcia is that bad but the other three I agree with. However you said it yourself, the guys in the seconds aren’t getting a run either. Also think Sweet has to come back. Saturday’s game was a shocker. Dale seems to have dropped off a bit. I know Bruce has been much maligned but I always thought he competed, even last year, and he is much missed as he could run up and down the ground. Think it’s too big an ask for Naughton to be the focal point. People forget that he is still only young, same as English.

Six talking points for AFL Round 22: Time to put a line through Richmond?

Schache played one of his best games and Bruce and Naughton made sure life wasn’t easy for Lever and May. The mids also didn’t continually bomb the ball in, which helped. Our defence was pretty good too, even with Keath and the Richards going down. One of the more complete team games they have played this year.

Beveridge calls for calm on Ugle-Hagan hype

Bruce worked hard and so did Weightman. The Swans were just too good. I think the problem was more half forward where Naughton usually provides the contest and draws a good defender. Mind not made up on Hannon yet. Was surprised at the couple of cheap shots with the raised elbow by Franklin. Thought he was better than that.

Pfft. Most respected. I’d say there are quite a few players ahead of him in that line. Yes he’s a tough competitor but actions like those don’t earn you respect from your opponents. He’s manipulated the rules for years and the umps and media have caught on. Gutless attacks on pinned opponents. Yep that’s tough.

"An icon of the game": Scott demands more respect for Joel Selwood

FFS. He has answered this question ad nauseum. Maybe reporters should do their research. Yes the tigers were better last night but JUH would NOT have saved them. He’s 19 for heaven’s sake.

Luke Beveridge tears shreds off reporter who didn't do his research

Stefan Martin to play at least 2/3 of games. Tim English will be good but he’s still too physically immature to hold down the No 1 ruck. He will in time but not yet.

Realistic goals for the Western Bulldogs

Harris Andrews would do the Doggies nicely.

The one player each AFL club should poach in season 2021

Really hoping you mean Easton Wood. ????
