Probably trying to send a subliminal message!

'Better than we've shown': Everything Hoops said about where Wallabies must improve, Suli debut, Wilson's return

Is this the new equivalent of “4 more years”?

'You're a s--t Richie McCaw': Brutal sledge that sums up All Blacks' falling stocks as Kiwis slump to all-time low

Respectfully disagree there. Part of good coaching is also having a solid return to match fitness plan – that includes managing minutes on the park. Reckon if all the injuries didn’t happen JOC wouldn’t have been playing for that same reason. He was very underdone and it showed. Hindsight is 20/20 of course but I reckon if QC had played the first test, JOC might have only gotten maybe 10 mins in second or third test depending on how we went.

REACTION: Perese and Petaia join Wallabies' devastating injury list as Eddie's England level series

Cheers, was thinking more about it this morning and I remembered that the yellow cards last week were to Hill and Vunipola if my memory serves me well? Playing to momentum is definitely a smart move but I think Test rugby is more about making wise moves – like taking points on offer. Had a random thought, were there any opportunities for droppies? I wasn’t watching the game that closely.

Can’t remember when that penalty was but I probably would have taken the 3 first and then used the rest of the yellow card time to try to score the try. It’s not like a forward was in the bin which would maybe give an advantage at set piece.

I think keeping in mind TT hasn’t played for months, probably player management came into the decision too? Yes Wallabies had the chance to win but not sure it would be worth it if he blew the calf again and was out for the World Cup.

As much as I hate to admit it, you might be right on that front! The forwards did the basics extremely well. Wallabies had almost no possession, rucks and set piece were running like a well oiled machine, the damn scoreboard kept ticking over because of Owen Farrell’s boot. The first half was reminiscent of how they beat the ABs in Japan.

ANALYSIS: 'Bristling, upbeat and on message' England's back-to-basics campaign brings dividends in Brisbane

Sounds like a classic case of burnout! Couldn’t remove himself from the situation and so his body removed him from it. Thankfully he made the best of it and is keen to rip in.
Keen to see some bowling / pinball action – knocking over white pins or just bouncing though 😁

'Best thing that happened to me': Taniela reveals he didn't miss rugby 'one bit' but refreshed after a big 'geez, f---' moment

Wow, all the drama with selections and injuries! Definitely making it harder for ourselves. At least it will make the win that much sweeter. Also less excuses for Eddie Jones 😂

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Kellaway and Ikitau OUT, Petaia at 15, Frost set for debut, Taniela returns, Suli kept waiting

Great balanced views of the game.
Also agree with the knee to the head. That didn’t look accidental at all given Leota’s arms looked trapped and couldn’t protect his head and Billy Vunipola HAPPENED to run by the ruck with his knee close to the head.
On another note, I don’t mind the cask wine rugby if we get the champagne rugby in the end. Test rugby is always an arm wrestle first up and I can’t remember how many times I’ve watched the ABs weather the storm till their opponents switch off and they flick a switch and open the floodgates.

Did the Wallabies play champagne or cask-wine rugby?

Agree with your thoughts!

If NL missed any of the earlier kicks in the first half, it likely would have made it a mountain to climb back from half time.

The sideline conversions were essential to keeping the scoreboard pressure and take the wallabies out of range of 2 converted tries, which were the difference in the end. Those tough kicks usually are the difference in knock out games so it’s good experience in the build up to the World Cup.

If JOC or QC get injured then (like they are now), at least we know NL will be able to step up and ice that kick.

I think the positive takeaway for me is that we have 3 10s who could realistically drive the ship for the wallabies with their own strengths for the World Cup.

Lolesio comes of age as Australia pass baptism of fire against England

Doesn’t matter if you were the better team but don’t score points.

Also, not sure why Rennie should get fired for winning? The full team selection proved themselves by how they weathered the storm and unpredictability of the game. Bench slot in seamlessly as a full 23 complement.
QC (I know he hasn’t played yet), MK and SK were pretty instrumental in winning now, I don’t know if I’d swap them for Skelton and Arnold.

NL looks to have matured from last year. Those ice cool conversions were essential.
