THe concern is how will they cope with the Brumbies a week after losing to the Reds.

Tahs have always been great on paper, but their top 6 inches has mainly been the cause of their issues (i include the top 6 inches for their Selectors, their contract negotiators, their coaches) I’m going to be really interested to see how they bounce back and face, what looks at the moment to be a bigger challenge.

A proper derby: Reds triumph in cracker at Leichhardt

I didn’t make the call live, but has anybody considered the actions of 12?

I don’t see arms and I see head on shoulder.

It’s also funny how the tiny 20 year old back shakes his head and jumps into the next play while the craggy number 8 limps off for a bex and a lie down

Rebels captain comes off second best after adding Force No.10 to list of victims

maybe we could afford to take a lower fee and get the sport onto more screens.

Of course it will only work if the administrators choose to stop throwing money at every existing Super Rugby club at will. The solution to this financial problem was never going to be cutting the team which cost you the least of all teams, it is only going to be saved by refusing to give a single cent more than the grant.

Imagine the outroar if there were to be a level playing field.
Imagine the outroar if the Reds went bankrupt after another poor season where their attendances failed to pay the costs.
Imagine the outroar if the Waratahs couldn’t afford to sign whoever they wanted
Imagine the outroar if the Rebels …….. were forced to give up their lark’s tongue pate and dodo feather compression undies

I just noticed I hadn’t ripped on the brumbies, so in the interests of fairness

Imagine the outroar if the Brumbies had to step into another ASIC-investigated dodgy land deal

There, that’s better, nice and even!

The silence surrounding RugbyWA's demise

OK, 21st century view

None of the current board have done anything to stop Rugby falling into the cesspool.

They should all go!

Is that better?

Let’s just indulge me and agree a team had to be cut and the Force was the right team for argument’s sake.

I’ve had quite enough of indulging you as a matter of fact.

THere is nothing to prove that the Force was the right team so from the outset you argument is without foundation.

You quote the 4 figure average attendances, but the Brumbies and the Rebels aren’t flush with massive crowds. I believe the Rebels’ average attendance is lower Why is the Force the right team?
You might point to performances but the best argument you could make is that both teams were inconsistent performers, the only difference might be performance vs cost…..don’t get me started
You might point to the “only legal option” discussion, but (since you are now such an avid follower of the senate Inquiry) you will know that Senator Reynolds mentioned a second Put option in the Rebels sale agreement and asked whether all the conditions of the put that was exercised had been met. I haven’t found anything in the report about it, so it might have come to nothing, but there is plenty of stuff floating around about the ARU being directly involved in the event that made the Rebels finally safe so even that is arguable.

Yes RA are not publicly engaging with RugbyWA and that is a disaster for rugby in the state. I have it from RugbyWA directors that they aren’t receiving communication behind closed doors either.

Lots of my mates are actually talking about secession and petitioning World Rugby for recognition as an independent union I think that’s a pretty long bow to draw, but I certainly can see why rugby people feel that way.

Thanks for the advice, none of this appeared in a google search.

Hence the “At the time of writing” line.

And I doubt the “not to be deliberately a jerk” line, it appears that is all you have been trying to be so far in this thread of commentary.

My apologies, they didn’t turn up in my Internet searches.

Happy to stand corrected on that point. I won’t comment upon the hearsay, however my apologies to the telegraph

The silence surrounding RugbyWA's demise

What in my article is a blatant lie TWAS?

I researched it reasonably thoroughly, it’s an opinion piece and the Roar have chosen to publish it.

You yourself have said the Roar won’t deliberately publish lies since they can be actioned as a result.

Why are we talking about lies in the first three posts of reaction?

Secondly, the legal fees requested by the ARU appear to have been about $1.7 Million, Rugby WA said they had offered $150,000 less that was requested that’s only just more than 10%, are you suggesting that dropping the price a further 10%(ish) to stop the bad press of driving your own child into administration is a smart business decision.

(Actually in writing that the possibility occurred to me that RA might be orchestrating a conspiracy and be confident of no bad press, I guess the Roar might be able to push against that, viva le revolucion!)

The silence surrounding RugbyWA's demise

Maybe not deliberately targeted it, but certainly complicit.

The silence surrounding RugbyWA's demise

Sheek,

You’re right, there has been so little reported in the media about this that my mates are all talking commercial conspiracy.

As a matter of fact, this article was written as an attempt to prove the point. I dared the Roar to publish it…and they did.

Read into that what you will.
