With all due respect…
1. The Rebels lost and that it was an AUS team vs a NZL team, I hate it, it hurts. I find the narrative of being so close, or how we really pushed the opposition, or if only we had full strength, intolerable. The team I wanted to win didn’t and they simply weren’t up to task. Loosing sucks, I hate it. No words will make it feel any better or respectable (and nor should they).
2. Tactical advice to any team in a 23-23 position with 5 to play… territory please. You have to be in their 22, not in yours, and I don’t even care if you have possession or not… be in their 22 and that’s that.
3. Stop blaming RA for everything. The team that ran onto that field needs to look in the mirror and say, ‘it was on us’. It has ever been thus, and always will be.

In test match rugby…
1) The 5/8 (I’m old) needs to be an excellent 5/8.
2) The team needs an excellent goal kicker.
But there ain’t no need to conflate the two.

Well, it’s a professional sport that a huge number of club players all over Asia Pacific must aspire to play in. And they’re not ‘representative’ teams anyway. As a Wests Bulldogs and QLD Reds supporter… I’m okay with QLD being the nursery of rugby greatness. The irony of stocking the Waratahs would amuse me.

Tahs hammered by Hurricanes as finals hopes hang by a thread

Seems the discussion re Waratahs needs to be about what change is needed to win…. both the players now, and the players coming through. A no-blame list of changes that can be done immediately, and that should be done in the next few years. Players’ skills, speed, power, game awareness and decision making, opposition intel, blah blah blah. To be honest, it’s just not good enough. The headline of “…finals hopes hang by a thread” is woefully dishonest. Should say “…future is bleak.”
A better tactic might be to look at the top three teams of the QLD and NSW club comp and invite their players to express interest for team spots in the Waratahs because the current and recent Waratahs players are just not good enough (evidently).

I thought my beloved Reds list the game when at 7-0 up took the penalty kick for touch instead of taking the 3. So, instead on 10 zip and having the ball kicked off and given back to them… the lost their line out, Brumbies got a penalty, and within a couple of minutes somehow the Reds were defending in their own half. Decision making wins or loses games.

The only good news story I want to read is about an Australian SR team beating the ones from overseas.
