Those phantom punches are brutal.
Just ask Sonny Liston…the most famous of all…

Aus vs SA studs and duds: 'Surgical and precise' Noah, 'phenomenal' unsung forward, White's perfect dive

Yep, cost Darcy Swain a Red.
We can all thank the invasiveness of the TMO for the trend of overreacting players.

ANALYSIS: Boks need new blood and new ideas, and should take a lesson from Cheika's Argentina

Now that he’s working with the Wallabies he’ll go from ‘Gandalf the Grey’ to ‘Gandalf the White’.
Hopefully providing some magic along the way.

ANALYSIS: 'Asking too much' - brutal truth behind James O'Connor's axing, and why Wallabies defence coach had to go

I remember first seeing Pocock play and thinking, wow, just wow!
I don’t get that with McReight.
I look forward to that again with an Oz number 7, someday….

The glaring hole preventing the Wallabies from immediate success

I hope he does, but there is a big difference between the healing ability of a 23 year old as apposed to a 34 yr old.
Also, pretty sure the rehab resources available to Quade pales in comparison to Cam.
Here’s hoping, it’s a big one though.

'Can come back stronger': Horan's verdict on QC's RWC hopes, our No.10 depth chart and his X-Factor pick

Anyone who thinks Quade will come back from the Achilles anywhere near the player he was, hasn’t experienced the injury.
Not even the great Kobe Bryant was the same.

Congrats for Slipper, great redemption arc.

Wallabies blow: Hooper OUT of Argentina series amid 'mindset' battle, Rennie says skipper 'clearly been struggling'

“How to wind up the wind-up artist”
When I saw the headline, I thought this would be another article on Rassie… 😛 😂

How to wind up the wind up artist: When Darcy met Jonny

Absolute striking masterclass by Volk!
Just keeps getting better and proving doubters wrong.

Still the Great: Volkanovski retains title with dominant victory at UFC 276

Geoff,
“No global Nations Championship”
Maybe they can do something like the cricket test championship over two years in between world cups.
Instead, top four on points table knockout over two weeks.
I’d watch that.
Also, would put more emphasis on 1st two years after World Cup.

The Wrap: No global Nations Championship but the southern hemisphere sweeps Round 1 all the same

😂 😂

REACTION: 'Effing wild!' - Cooper crocked, Banks broken and Swain sent off - but Wallabies overcome chaos

“gave Hill a slight head butt”
I’ve seen drunk teenagers colliding heads with more force while snogging at a nightclub than what I saw in Darcy’s so-called head butt..

REACTION: 'Effing wild!' - Cooper crocked, Banks broken and Swain sent off - but Wallabies overcome chaos

His old man was a very handy bush Rugby player.

Martial arts, lost kgs and chats with Dave - How Harry Wilson has prepared for Wallabies return

Jim,
What’s your take on Kellaway’s form?
I thought he was underwhelming this season, can he recapture last seasons form?

ANALYSIS: Rennie names a strong squad that's purpose built to defuse England's main attacking threat

Congrats to the Blues!
Always good to see the best two teams make the final; justification for their effort and consistency all season.

REACTION: 'Too many mistakes'- Brumbies rue near miss as Blues squeak through in the wet

Are Nick White’s knees bent or legs bowed?

The Wrap: Super Rugby seedings hold steady as final four confirmed

Two key moments and one theme from my GoldenEyed view:
1: Charge-down, with Simone watching on hands in the air instead of diving on the ball.
2: Wright running into his own player after kick-off.
Both lead to tries.
Theme: The ease of Crusaders stripping the ball off the Brumbies players contact.

Did the Brumbies deserve to win?
No.

But for me they showed enough to keep the dream alive.

As for the Crusaders, they showed why they are the bench-mark and should never be written off.
For them, the main concern would be that the Crusaders of old would’ve buried the Brumbies.
Put them away and dented/destroyed their confidence for the finals (Tahs 2002).
Brumbies will admit they were out-muscled & played, but will have confidence & belief after getting so close.
Especially after the noticeable head drop in the first half.

REACTION: 'Like All Blacks against Wallabies'- Clinical Crusaders simply too strong for error-riddled Brumbies

It’s good to see White has taken the niggle out of his game a starting to reap the benefits of playing well.

REACTION: 'It's good for everyone'- Banks enthused by the sun as Brumbies beat Canes

Thanks Geoff,
Will Super around be an ongoing event or a one-off?
I’d like to see it again and promoted more.
Moving hosts each year would be fantastic.

The Wrap: Everything that worked and didn’t work in Super Round

Bible only has 10, pretty sure every sport has more than that.

REACTION: 'Really disappointing'- Trans-Tasman gulf remains a chasm as Reds choke and Hurricanes rip in

Fear!
Fear of losing players overseas, to other codes is what drives Australian Rugby.
This leads to the acceptance, rather than correction of poor discipline, skills, fitness and performance.
How often after a game are we lamenting the all of the above from Aussie teams?
Aussie teams just appear more willing to accept sub-standards.
Sub-standards compared to kiwi teams.

REACTION: 'Really disappointing'- Trans-Tasman gulf remains a chasm as Reds choke and Hurricanes rip in

BUT – something I’ve learned this morning is that suspensions can’t be served while a player is injured. They can only be served when fit and available to play.
Brett,
Is that a change to the suspension rules or always been the case?

'Perplexing decision' Reds prop to miss three weeks for dangerous tackle

So what you are saying is that Refs don’t make errors?
Like when a player is charged after game because the ref took no action during the game…

'Perplexing decision' Reds prop to miss three weeks for dangerous tackle

Spot on PeterK!

REACTION: 'It's a high-speed game' - Brumbies coach slams Wallabies star's red card after thrilling Force battle

The Rabble are the worst coached team in the comp.
The Force and Tahs look way better coached.
Reds and Brumbies continue what they’ve been doing for the last few years.
