its a harsh way to close out a tight game, especially with ball available. your basically gifting the game when its right in front.

'Always fighting, always Rebels': Chiefs hold on after late penalty in emotion-filled Melbourne send-off

fully stacked chiefs side against half strength rebels.. in years gone by they would have fallen by the way side. Finally have some depth in the side, and a few local lads putting their hands up aswell.
RA take note, and pull your head out of your asses. There is a way forward, you just need to come back to the table.

'Always fighting, always Rebels': Chiefs hold on after late penalty in emotion-filled Melbourne send-off

Wilkin is a big IN.. im backing canham to continue his sublime form these last couple matches.. hes really stood up with Loto out.. thats what u need in a team environment.
Lads that take the weight and keep pushing forward.
A real shame RA have their blinkers on and not paying attention to whats going on down in melb of late.

ANALYSIS: Rebels must change breakdown strategy to compete against Kiwi opposition

who would have thought, afternoon footy would be a hit. family friendly times, not stumbling in the door well past bedtimes..
then throw in sunday afternoons when club commitments are done for the week and surely you would see a massive uptick in stadium attendance.
alot of the union crowd have club commitments saturday and have to race to stadium as it is to watch the game on a sat night.
sundays, whether its flopping on the couch to watch a belter after lunch or heading down to support your team, nothing better.
not only super, cast your eyes back to the boks v wallabies in adelaide afternoon footy.
Was an epic day

Five things: Where DC got it wrong with Tahs, perception and reality for Wallabies hopeful as Test bolter shines

isnt that better than losing those player to league or overseas though?
danguno has been a revelation @ 13 since moving south. yes he had a couple starts in qld there, but finding his feet this season.
he would have been off overseas otherwise, but now hes in line for a wallabies call up surely..

'Perhaps it's surgery': Reds win ugly over Rebels to keep top four hopes alive as big-name Wallabies forced off

Very true, we are seeing a solid squad making strides each week, with blokes putting their hands up for each other, Kemeny and Canham again stepping up .
Jooste with the midfield hits was pretty decent, im sure flook is feeling a few rib tickles this morning..
finals run this season and they would have really hit the ground running into next, but the “powers to be” have the fix in and not to be.
Imagine having the lions tour next year and all those fresh eyes on the screen, even hosting a test in one of the largest Australian cities and a few kids want to give it a crack, but no provincial team, no local heroes to look up to, no local games to compete with afl each weekend.
with no footprint in melb the desire will die off pretty quick.
Yes the rebels have been drain and mismanaged for years, but now we are seeing local lads coming through the ranks and a real sense of purpose down south.
Hell we even had a wallabies starting backrow all melb born last year..

'Perhaps it's surgery': Reds win ugly over Rebels to keep top four hopes alive as big-name Wallabies forced off

he definetley smoked him.. u can see kellaway looking pretty lost after it in replay…

'Perhaps it's surgery': Reds win ugly over Rebels to keep top four hopes alive as big-name Wallabies forced off

it was probably Creightons best game ive seen him lace up to be honest.

The five candidates for the Wallabies No.10 jersey - and the old heads who may sneak in to join them

my thoughts exactly. i come here for some good rugby writing, not this garbage

COMMENT: It's a disgrace rugby is heading to Qatar - but that's not because of sportswashing

that had all the ingredients needed… what a game…

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

and herein lies the problem. throwing wads of cash at sualli, the bar has been set.
now everyone wants a piece and fair enough. why else did marky mark do the bolt. with negotiations on hold, rebels on brink, we will see a mass exodus over ’25. its ripe for the picking right when we needs them the most. RA wont be able to match sualli’s numbers and every agent worth their weight in salt will be pushing for that next step up in cash..

'Everything was approved': Eddie hits back at $2.6m RWC budget blow-out, says Wallabies can build team around young gun

they are still pissed they lost the rights and are riding the code into the ground any chance they get at a level on par with their love for the labor party 😉
well maybe not quite that far but a close second..

The Wrap: ‘World’s best provincial rugby competition’ delivers a superb Super Round

the rights to super round should be stripped from TEG and put up to tender with the newly installed super rugby admin.
who can add most value, what can they bring etc etc .
the standard of rugby on show was bludey good.
you just have to look back a few weeks to perth for the perth 7s..
what a weekend they delivered…

The Wrap: ‘World’s best provincial rugby competition’ delivers a superb Super Round

i managed to watch most of the games and i loved it. the rugby was all everyone was talking about.. tipping comp chat groups were running red hot, it was good to get away from the death riding of australian rugby that everyone keeps harping on about…
rebels stood up, u could literally see the confidence coming back into his play in that last quarter after ‘the eddie job on him’.
they will come out of the blocks next week, just need their line out to click, not sure whos calling the throws, but parling needs to pull it all apart,.
the tahs scalped the saders..
reds came bludey close.
chiefs were mental as anything, the pace and decision making at pace is mental.
i missed MP/fiji, but highlights showed some real magic as always, and MP got the chocolates…
keep bundling an experience like this and people will start to turn up..
a long weekend in melb is alot of fun.. some never make it back hahahahaha….

The Wrap: ‘World’s best provincial rugby competition’ delivers a superb Super Round

well played rebels. 2nd hit out of the season, blowing out the cobwebs and starting to find your magic juice..
need to hit their rucks more and slow down the opposition ball
i was screaming at the tv on those first 4 or 5 lineouts, but then they started to mix up the calls, who would have thought…
this game has to be the shot in the arm the lads needed.. now TT needs to lay of the 2nd bucket of KFC as he mentioned on live tv… ” im f#@cked…whoops”.. hahahaha classic…

'We needed that': Gordon, Kellaway star in Rebels' epic comeback win as Force capitulate

they just had 3K at a suburban ground for a trial match in the sweltering heat. the problem is the scheduling as core supporters have club commitments saturday. late firday night match, not home till midnight ish most cases, os sat night match and ur barely home from game, and able to get into city in time.
looking around most games last year, nz and oz, the only real crowds pulled were in fiji and manly from memory..

Leaked document says RA out to 'destroy Super Rugby' and 'turn members against each other' as Rebels' pain comes to light

great read…
its a real double edged sword conundrum…
you want the professional stars in the local comp drumming up minutes and showing local product but they also need that next level competition.
the dewar cant build into that next level without returning players ++++
and vice versa .
then the idea of the much needed return of a NRC semi pro comp that scoops up all the good players from club anyway, so each comp would lose these guns anyway..
anyway i digress.
i really hope there is a way forward for the rebels in victoria, be a shame to lose all the hard work thats gone into the club.
yes there has been a lot of silly moves, from cipriani to the brand and his side kick back in their ‘spa days’ … just to name a few…
but now the club has really invested in local pathways, we are seeing alot of local lads coming through.
schedule the games correctly and you will engage the club players and families that are the core audience, get some good wins under the belt and maybe channel 9 might throw up a few reports..
i mentioned on an earlier article, get TT scrumming a tram down bourke street and get some viral sh$t on socials.
instead they sit him at the AO tennis and ask him silly questions.
get him out doing media grabbing attention crap.,
bank on your stars to draw new eyes to the sport, as you have already paid for them…

What is the Rebels' endgame? A Super club in Melbourne makes sense - but only if their players play in local comps

for RA to saddle up with newscorp again would show that they really are the headless chook most think the board are.
who remembers the constant unrelenting barrage of hit pieces once they lost the rights to 9/stan.
i could go on, but i wouldnt be able to shut up for quite some time.
as kevin bludey wilson once sang, u can stick that F#$ckin newscorp up your F#$cken ass…
apologies to christy as i know you were from that side of the fence.. but they have been a dismal partner to australian rugby union since their union, to go back would be like myself going back to my ex wife… it just aint for the right reasons,…. to many agendas in play

Brumbies shut down talk of following Rebels into voluntary administration

i love the smell of napalm in the morning.. smells like super rugby warming up…
cant wait

SRP trial teams: Tahs, Rebels name big guns, Reds lose O'Connor as Donno starts for Force

comment of the day.. u get a cookie..
what a load of bollocks…

Decision time: Clubs queuing up to pounce on Rebels' best as Rugby Australia given warning over in demand Wallabies

i think ull find Gaelic football is the most dominant sport in ireland.. but dont let that get in the way of your narrative. they even mention it in the netflix 6 nations doco i just watched the other night.
ur on fire in the comments today.. you sure ur not a russian RA bot on the books to seed rebels discontent and make the boards job a little easier. hahahaa
you have a real distaste for the rebels, for union to survive in oz we need a national footprint its that simple.
to throw them under the bus now would be the actual waste of money u keep harping on about.
most of the squad will depart abroad, just as they did when the plug was pulled on the force, so ur main argument of concentrating player and coaching resources is out the window.
i saw the nz ceo talking up a US super team, so obviously there are other factors at play..

Decision time: Clubs queuing up to pounce on Rebels' best as Rugby Australia given warning over in demand Wallabies

its run by a kiwi marketing company based in nz.. they dont have local networks and a heap of other reasons it falls flat on its ass.
but they own the rights from what i read. the vic govt kicks them some cash and they sit back and count it..
i see they got the koko boys (drew, swoop and the boys) on for a bit of promo this time round. but that seems to be the extent of their marketing strategy.

'Want to show rugby isn't dead in Melbourne': Rebels skipper's fighting words as Eddie calls for 'hard decisions'

maybe if they scheduled the games a little better so it didnt clash with club rugby as much.
sunday arvo games, i dont know why there is not more of these in schedule across the board..
there is always a good turn out, clubs done and dusted on the saturday and you can swing down with the kids and make a day of it..

'Want to show rugby isn't dead in Melbourne': Rebels skipper's fighting words as Eddie calls for 'hard decisions'

great point…

Rugby Australia is back where they hoped they would never return - and their next move could make or break the game

it ruffled to many feathers in club heartlands.. as their prized peacocks were gobbled up by ‘badly drawn out’ regional teams and old men in back rooms decided what was best for their club came first… which wasnt the NRC
hence why waugh is spruiking a club comp so heavily as the answer to our third tier dilemmas… just doesnt cut it..
