That’s interesting. I know that Siddle and Hazlewood are pretty similar players in that they both are controlled bowlers, but surely he’s past his use by date? Cummins, Johnson and Starc didn’t go to badly as a bowling unit in the world cup games together, why didn’t they pick him?

The only problem that I see with this format is that if a country where test cricket is in decline such as the West Indies ( I know, the West Indies isn’t actually a country) is demoted to the first class associates group, it could kill off test cricket there. Other than that, it sounds pretty good.

Totally agree bec. Shouldn’t in form batsman be picked rather than another all rounder? Shouldn’t an all-rounder be good enough to get in to the team as their preferred speciality with their bowling/batting ability as extra? You have to be delusional to think that marsh or maxwell are good enough to be picked as batsmen and batsmen alone.
