McKenzie was my father’s favourite australian player behind Keith Miller.
Dad captained the ’46 (or ’47) NSW Combined High Schools cricket team against the combined (private schools nsw).
Keith Miller was the coach. a bloke named Richie Benaud was the vice-captain.
i have photo of dad and Keith in creams with nsw cricket board exec’s and canterbury boys high school (cbhs) principal. Dad went to CBHS during the war.
they lost.

Aussies adopt defensive mindset after making changes for fourth Test - but Warner gets stay of execution

you can get 13/1 atm for Aus to win WC.
that’s awfully short, just over a 7% chance, like, what!

'Never coached rugby union': Fisher questions Wallabies' tactical 'clarity', reveals a 'for goodness sakes' moment

Please, Maxwell NO. the aus selectors stuffed him when he was suitable.
Please, please, NO Warner at all. Marnus fine imo to open as he hasn’t been killing them at 3 has he so a order change of 1 position won’t hurt him.
The rest depending on the pitch and weather forecast.
did i say Please.

Maxwell smart left-field option worth considering for a spin if Aussies want to strengthen lower order all round

grew up watching league with dad (ex-1st grade with parra ’52 and reserve grade with st.george ’54) and watching union with my mother on saturday afternoons
loved both as a teen but after league became touch football late last century gave it a big miss; haven’t watched a state of origin ever, whereas, absolutely adore watching union, the scrummaging, line-outs, the lack of swapping possession every 6 plays, seeing england getting beaten
union imo is so much more entertaining than league

Has modern rugby union lost its entertainment value?

noooooooooo
the main attraction for me are the scrums, a test of technique, tactics and strength
one of many areas union has it all over league
to eliminate action vacuums remove goalkicking > increase a try to 6 points and for penalties just award an automatic 1 point to the non-offending team; for red cards instead of sending off award 2 points to the non-offending team
don’t dare touch the scrums

not a Hanigan fan but thought he put in; made his presence felt …

'I’m the eternal optimist': Rennie's Wallabies pull off remarkable 21-point comeback as next gen stands up

i am no pundit but wasn’t that in from the side by AWJ at 17’33” ?

'I’m the eternal optimist': Rennie's Wallabies pull off remarkable 21-point comeback as next gen stands up

it was a genuine enquiry not being au fait with players not used at test level recently
that’s all
all the best, all i ask is that england does NOT win the world cup
(yet another negative comment, oh dear)

Late Wallabies drama: Lock out, Jock in doubt as Swain gets start

well thanks hunters
i tried but couldn’t do that deep …

Late Wallabies drama: Lock out, Jock in doubt as Swain gets start

is that the most lightweight as in talent 6, 7 & 8 that aus has fielded, ever ?

ken catchpole, easily …

Eales, Ella, Gregan: My favourite Wallabies side

not convinced jones was a, “… great coach …”
had great players
he could talk though …

Alan Jones to coach my favourite Wallaby team

both even money i note
will do my best to encourage my good wife to invest her parents inheritance on the boks
prices should be sa $1.50 and aus $2.70

Rennie rewards Wallabies with four-year selection first, just ONE change in 23, 'livid' coaches want 'ruthless' response

“… looks very uncomfortable in front of the media …”, doesn’t bother me. don’t care if he pulls his pants down and … as long as he is a good manager which i think he seems to be

as for cheika returning, please never …
