Funny, that’s the same moment I thought of as well… Such a shame they didn’t test out Rory Arnold during the RC.

Pocock leads the Wallabies to a 28-13 win over Fiji

Ahhh, good point, I was completely focused on ball carrying and defending… Perhaps we can lure Duane Vermeulen to Oz ala Tiaan Strauss. Problem solved!

Great Man Theory: Hooper and Cheika to change everything?

I see Ita Vae as that big tackling, big running player to compliment the Hooper/Pocock experiment should it happen… Unfortunately he is not in the team…

Great Man Theory: Hooper and Cheika to change everything?

It’s a bit harsh to have Scott Sio in the Australia A team, I think he is pushing for a spot in the Wallabies starting lineup

The Fringe XV: What happened to Australia A?

I like the idea of a tight five camp. Maybe use some of the $370000 to get a few world class tight five players / coaches to come an work with the up and coming crop.

Leinster demand €250,000 for Douglas release

@Buk, Mogg is a confidence player. Have a look at Super rugby, if he kicks a ball out on the full or spills a high ball at the start of the match, he usually drops his head and you know he is going to have a poor game. It was the same when he played for the Wallabies. Debreczeni on the other hand seems to have a more measured approx and can recover from an early mistake (perhaps this is because he’s playing at 10 and gets his hands more on the ball).

Agree 100% that a big boot at the back come RWC time would be great. As Alex mentions, this could allow you to play a big ball running number 12 (Kerevi, Kuridrani
) instead of a 2nd playmaker.

All-Rounder XV: An alternate look at Wallaby selection

It’s disappointing Debreczeni wasn’t included in the train on squad. I would have liked to see him get some exposure to the Wallabies environment as I can see him filing the number 10 position in the future (IMO he’s in a similar mold to Stephen Larkham).

The way our scrum has been going, Clive could be the Wallabies rescuer… It is a big lad 😉

SPIRO: Brumbies and Waratahs fighting for the Conference

I’d prefer Ita Vaea. Work rate is impressive and has been doing really well in the collisions.

SPIRO: Brumbies and Waratahs fighting for the Conference

I’m a huge Brumbies fan and like Coleman, but he gets monstered at Super level. It’s only going to get harder at test level where they will target him under the high ball. Think he should focus his effort on the 7’s team.

What would the Wallabies squad look like if picked today?

Thanks Kane, read your comment and snorted coffee out my nose, you’ve just made my morning!

Ta-ta Tah Taf: Polota-Nau out of Brumbies clash

Wonder if they didn’t bother with ‘deception’ for this game as they thought they had it in the bag? Why waste set moves and show your hand when you are pretty much guaranteed a win…
