Six talking points from State of Origin 2

NSW dominated QLD in every aspect of the game right down to diving on loose balls or players on the ground. QLD wingers looked helpless on several occasions on the ground while NSW players dived in with elbows and knees while their team mates just watched them get belted. I guess the QLD spirit wasn’t there tonight.

NSW wanted it more and it showed. NSW halves also put on a Masterclass. Their forwards and wingers laid the platform. The wingers for NSW were incredible tonight and QLD wingers got taught a lesson.

Can’t wait for game 3 and to see if QLD will come back with more energy and purpose.

I still have faith QLD can turn it around but need Munster to have a chance.

Cleary, Tedesco masterclasses lead Blues to Origin 2 demolition win

He’s had Teddy, Turbo, Maloney among others dominate. He hasn’t been the best half on the field on any occasion in origin. NSW have also had the better team the last 2 years on paper.

Maybe QLD just build better halves or NSW pick the wrong 7s and 6s. All I am stating if you pick the right 7 it will be a long few years for QLD. Who that is I don’t know. Or maybe they’ve picked the wrong team around Cleary the last few years.

State of Origin Game 2 preview: The Blues have everything to lose

Is Cleary plays mediocre again are we looking at the next Mitchell Pearce?
Or will he get numerous chances…
He hasn’t played a good origin game to date but happy to eat my words if he does.
I think having Cody in the side will bring points and unleash cookie and Teddy

Barry they didn’t do much in the first half either…

Agree with all points above but Val doesn’t strike me as a ball playing fullback which QLD may need to beat NSW. The more ball Capewell and Gagai get may be the difference.

I hope I’m wrong because I’m a QLD supporter. Val is an exceptional talent but he is no where near the form he was in before he left to head to the States.

Keary dumped, Holmes returns as Origin Game 2 teams confirmed

Nat did Vals form this year prove Big Mig wrong?

Vals an good origin player but his momentum changing performances have been from the wing. I hoped I’m proved wrong like Gagai proved me wrong moving to centre and playing out of his skin again.

Keary dumped, Holmes returns as Origin Game 2 teams confirmed

Go bakc and watch the last 9-10 games of the seasons for South’s and his game play and style and see why people want him at 5/8.
I have no qualms with Wighton at 6 just a massive fan of walkers current form and game play. Wighton can play centre also hence why I’d have him and Walker in the side.
I’m glad he gets redeem himself.

Keary dumped, Holmes returns as Origin Game 2 teams confirmed

I might eat my words but Nathan Brown seems suited to origin.

I would of love to see Cody and Keary at 6 and 7 but maybe they will be for game 3.

Holmes to fullback could go either way and might see the centre’s get even less ball.

The more ball Gagia gets the better he is.

Keary dumped, Holmes returns as Origin Game 2 teams confirmed

Has Cody not earned the 5/8 role?

He played alright when Reyno was injured… that triggered he’s incredible form during the dragons game when Reyno was out for the game. Either way his performance both were better than Cleary and Keary. But like I’ve stated before on here you have to be Pearce or Cleary to get multiple chances of playing subpar in the halves.

Six talking points from State of Origin 1

Yes please pick Pearce

Six talking points from State of Origin 1

Cody Walker and Wighton in the halves?
Cody played out of his skin this year when Reynolds was injured and or when he got to be the dominant half.
Capewell was outstanding at centre, would it be worth moving him to the back row.
Cordner has a knack lately of putting his head in the wrong spot… play on. (I say that tongue in cheek)

Six talking points from State of Origin 1

Does Val Holmes start next game on the wing?

Will Cody Walker play 6?

Sua has to start he was massive when he came on.

If you’re picking an all time QLD side over the last 40 years surely Gagai would have to get a start on the sting

Second-half stunner powers Maroons to Origin Game 1 upset win

Rossi even the greats had their critics. Hopefully Walker can prove a few people wrong on origin night or maybe get a few people to change their opinions on him.

REVEALED: NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons teams for State of Origin 1

Great comment Nat and I do agree with you about NSW fitting in to many super stars and out of form players. But the likes of Cleary, Teddy and JAC have me worried. To be honest JAC has been playing unreal footy and we are yet to see Coates play half as good at NRL level. Coates is bigger, faster (possibly) and stronger (maybe) but I’ve noticed at NRL level once he is beaten he doesn’t turn and chase or have those second effort plays. Plus JAC is all heart, you can’t teach that. Anyway let’s go QLD

State of Origin Game 1 preview: The Blues have more experience and talent

Touche BennO ????

This underdog Maroons side is just as untrustworthy as the rest

So we need a hooker on the bench for a 80 minute starting hooker or 4 forwards. Has McInness ever been in a big game or has he ever dominated a game like Cody?

Hayne had a similar character but I bet you enjoyed his performances in origin.

If you are talking about Cody and fitting in the blues culture then I think he will be fine after being dropped the first time.

REVEALED: NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons teams for State of Origin 1

I would feel 10 times more confident with Harry Grant coming on as impact player instead of Ben Hunt to try and change the momentum. I don’t see how Ben Hunt can win you a game especially in origin.

This underdog Maroons side is just as untrustworthy as the rest

I’ve always had a few questions on Bennets selections in teams but he has always proved me wrong. I won’t now but oh my the NSW team looks unreal.

I love Wighton in the centre’s and Gutho has been on fire all season.

REVEALED: NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons teams for State of Origin 1

Walker got benched and came back on and played a lot better. I guess certain players get the benefit of the doubt for their origin game like Pearce and get several chances and other don’t.

Murray can play hooker and fills most roles.
Walker can play 1,6,7 and being a footballer with instinct could play centre or wing.

I don’t get the chat around McInness being a better 14 than Walker. Are we just going to forgot his form over the last few years and last 9 rounds of this season.

REVEALED: NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons teams for State of Origin 1

So you think McInness will be a better 14 than Walker?

Did you watch the second half of the season…

Barry what are QLD chances of winning and us Ben Hunt QLDs version of Mitchell Pearce?
