Agree with the majority of comments. Can’t believe that Pete Samu was left out after being rushed into the team post Crusaders. Banks is also a big oversight, especially given Beale’s last stint in NZ. And what’s with Dane Haylett-Petty? Out of form and has added little when he has actually played. We must be the only team going to Japan with one specialist winger. Bizarre!

Absolutely agree Spiro. Tom Banks must be selected at fullback. He’s looking more like Latham every game; dissecting the midfield from inside passes, and his towering, long return kicks from the 22 are essential if the Wallabies want to avoid being camped on their try line. Beale and DHP are nowhere near the standard. Let’s hope the selectors see sense.

Absolutely agree Will. It would be great to at least endeavour to replicate the days of powerhouse No 8’s that gave us massive go-forward like Tim Gavin, Willie Ofahengaue and Toutai Kefu.

Seems to me a 6mth suspension and a fine would get RA out of their predicament. Folau would miss the RWC and still send a strong message about player behaviour, without the threat of ongoing legal battles. Poorly structured contracts leave RA with little choice but to soften their response.

Reds looked good after the 1st try. Then someone decided to employ the ‘let’s kick aimlessly’ tactic . Seriously? With average kickers (apart from Frisby) and against altitude experienced opposition…..madness. Ball in hand using their big Fijians was the order of the day. The Reds are improving but their gameplan and strategy need some serious revision.

Why would you do it ? Great coaches engender a style of play that is unique (hopefully), improves upon that which has gone before, and leads the opposition to question their own ability. Eddie’s record in recent times is appalling. England ended up one dimensional and Aust….I won’t even go there. Shortsighted by Japan RU to say the least.
