Long term 'glass half full' rugby fan - Wallabies, Wallaroos, Tahs, Marlins + 7s

I understand RA want to wash their hands of the whole Rebels situation but still don’t understand how they haven’t been aware of the Rebels financial situation.

UPDATE: RA say they were blindsided over Rebels' finances, reject private consortium claim as administrator backs club's survival

It will be an interesting final. I always fear the Fijian women in 15s & 7s.

Reckon they are in with a good shot of winning. Getting their former captain Bitila Tawake back after her stint in Aupiki a big plus too.

Think you are stretching the kiwi link again

Appreciate NZ needs all it can get but pretty sure Cadbury is English.

This is a good story for RA. A quality & recognised partner.
No doubt the loss of a PE injection has thrown a lot of RA’s plans into turmoil. I do recall the original plan for full time contracts was for the 2025 World Cup, always thought that was a bit ambitious. Sounds like Phil Waugh is toning down the wording & expectations. Always better under promise & over deliver.

A Tahs/Drua final not really a surprise. The score line from the last match up in Lautoka will be no indication how the final will play out. Should be a cracking game, hopefully with a Tahs win.

'It feels unreal': Drua and Tahs advance to Grand Final as stars bag semi hat-tricks

Michael Atkinson on the Stan pod In-line has covered the Reds a couple of times. Seems like some off field issues, including issues between the new coach & players, also a few staff changes resulted in missing getting some players from NZ who were keen to come over. Sounds all a bit of a disaster. As for the Tahs I hope they win but the Drua always worry me. If they are on and firing hard to stop.

Super Rugby W has been the most competitive to date but can anyone stop the in-form Tahs in the semifinals?

50% correct

Super Rugby W has been the most competitive to date but can anyone stop the in-form Tahs in the semifinals?

Before a full trans Tasman would like to see maybe a playoff between the top 2 from each comp. That would also show what level the Oz teams are at.

Thanks. Just trying to help NSW Waratahs & RA raise the profile of the women’s game & players, they seem to struggle to break through in the main stream media. Hope Force play well in their semi & get a win it would demonstrate the correlation between investment & improvement.

Interesting first couple of paragraphs. I heard a discussion recently stating how Covid really pushed Australia more so to being a State Nation as opposed to a Nation State. I think that is very true & near impossible to reign it back.

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

Thanks. There has been improvement across the board which is good to see. Rebels win was so good for the players and coaching group. I think I saw that former Tahs/Wallaroo player Iliseva Batibasagais is coaching a Jack Scott Cup team either West Harbour or Two Blues.

Super Rugby W has been the most competitive to date but can anyone stop the in-form Tahs in the semifinals?

Yes it is a pity it is such a short comp, am guessing the players are only just getting into their groove. Actually enjoy watching the Brums play, am a fan of Moleka & Bishop. Think they are missing Huriwai.

Super Rugby W has been the most competitive to date but can anyone stop the in-form Tahs in the semifinals?

Cheers. We all have our hobbies/causes. The Force v Drua should be a good game, reckon the Force are in with a shot, you just don’t know which Drua team will turn up & haven’t checked the Suva weather forecast.

Super Rugby W has been the most competitive to date but can anyone stop the in-form Tahs in the semifinals?

No don’t bring in Aupiki until maybe 2026, there would be no value for the Oz teams. At best maybe a top 2 of each comp play off next year. For info you can watch your ‘rugby’ on Stan they show Aupiki.

The Wrap: Crusaders' shot clock fiasco and shhh, don’t put the moz on Darby

Yep credit to the whoever it was that got the Rebels players together, held it together, recruited, coached & the team to be able to execute under the conditions.

It was so good to finally get another Tahs win, it’s been a tough season and they couldn’t make it a more stressful win for supporters. Also nothing better than a happy DC with a few quips post game. For me the 2nd best game from an enjoyment perspective was the 2nd half of the Rebels women v Drua game, with the Rebels taking out the win. Just unadulterated pleasure shown by the women. Only their 2nd win ever and maybe their last game ever. If it is what a way to finish.

Talakai is underrated, not a headliner but a quality prop & obviously a leader. As for Darby Lancaster, Tim Horan obviously hasn’t watched the Aussie 7s team. He came to the fore in a big way last year, it was just a matter of time for him to develop & show his skills in 15s.

'Kid wonder': Lancaster, Gordon shine as Rebels take one giant step in locking in maiden Super Rugby finals berth

Irrespective of the results over the next few matches based on the tone of the media/journalists I think DC is gone. Just hope they get few wins so DC can have a couple of tins in the sheds with the boys.

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

It sure was a stressful watch, so pleased for win especially for the players, DC & his coaching staff who no doubt have put in a lot of effort over the season. Obviously the players are professionals but they stuck at it throughout the match.

For Tahs fans, long suffering Tahs fans, go out early to the game and watch the women in action. That will provide some real enjoyment before the men’s game delivers who knows, hopefully a win.

Super Rugby Women’s Week Five teams: Force set for club history, Wallaroos return for Brumbies, Reds last-ditch dash for finals

Well, hard to say it but not going to head out to the Tahs game. The only reason we would is maybe be as the Tahs women are playing prior.
