Agree with Edwards being picked, but would not have been upset if Teddy got the nod. Look at it like this, if this was the first ever Origin and you are picking your NSW fullback, who do you pick? Edwards gets it as he has been the best fullback in the NRL for the past 3 years. Hard on Teddy, but it had to happen. And before all these QLDers start on about the we pick and stick crap, just remember Billy dropped Gagai last year for the same reasons

Blues Origin team: Tedesco, Api axed, Trbojevic to captain, Maguire picks SEVEN debutants, Hynes in doubt

My team would be as follows:
1. Teddy ( Edwards close, but Teddy playing well this year)
2. Lomax (threat under the high ball)
3. Crichton
4. Turbo
5. To’o
6. Luia (Predominantly a Left sided player)
7. Cleary
8. J Turbo
9. Koroisau
10. Haas
11. Olakau’atu
12. Martin
13. Yeo
14. Burton
15. Koloamatangi
16. Paulo
17. Paseka
18. Hynes

Luai is a left player which gives balance and will have something to prove (he didn’t play that badly last year, just a player that people love to hate, and no I am not a Panthers fan). Having Burton there as cover will ease any pressure if the tensions get high for Luai and he also covers multiple positions.

One thing I have noticed is the idea that Utoikamanu is a SOS standard player?? he was rubbish in the games he played last year and I do not see any difference with Tigers. In fact his Prop partner at the Tigers goes forward better, that being Klemmer (Started a lot of Origins until he fell out with Freddy). I would start with Hass and Jake T and have 2 middles off the bench to get some go forward as we need space for Cleary and the backline. Maybe Paseka (Big Body) and Paulo, with Koloamatangi as the cover for the edge and middle.

There are a few that would be unlucky to miss out, Addo Carr, Hynes, Campbell Gillard, Best, Edwards (in particular as he deserves a run).

Blues Origin predicted team: Another blow for Blues with Best joining star quartet on the sidelines
