I think the FFA are doing a good job connecting with the fan base and player groups – fan forums, votes on the club name and colour, honouring the fans wishes to play all games at Parra Stadium.
That sort of effort is getting results and when the hype really takes off WSW will get some good crowds and with good results and a winning team, may even get a couple of sell outs at the 20K stadium.
Outlook brightens for A-League clubs
That’s great news for the A-League clubs and will take the financial pressure off the owners so they can spend more on promotion and marketing.
It also has implications for expansion. If clubs become more profitable and the FFA can meet the salary costs then more owners, local and around the world, are likely to invest and within a year or two we will be talking expansion once again.
Outlook brightens for A-League clubs
You’ll find AFL is most popular in the minds of Melbourne AFL fans.
Expansion to stay, despite tribalism
Haven’t kicked a ball yet but Adelaide top of the table unbeaten and WSW last, alphabetically speaking of course.

Cahill set to leave EPL for New York Red Bulls in MLS
I stumbled across the Roar highlights reels for HAL season 7.0 on YouTube and what a season you guys had.
I’ll never forget that game when we had you beat and then lost 2-1 after a goal from Besart in the 5th minute of extra time – still hurts and probably cost us a home semi.
And what about the controversy of the GF as once again you came from 1-0 down to win 2-1. Its like it only happened yesterday.
I’m jealous of your team and the way you guys play and its basically the same team again this season and a couple more options.
I’m confident SFC will do better with Crooky this season and the team is looking sharp – Crook is the man in control.
Looking forward to beating you guys in HAL 8.0.
Brisbane Roar unveil new import
Its a shame that WSW are getting the blame for this and potentially losing supporters, while the journos move on to another sensationalised story.
I wonder if this would have got the same coverage if the Cove had threatened to cover up the Dally M statue outside SFS?
Would it be a worthwhile thing to do to get publicity?
Wanderers must show some respect
Sydney doesn’t hate GWS or the game of Aussie Rules.
Sydney hates the AFL management and arrogance of AFL and its fans to tell us what we want.
A good thumping helps GWS vs Swans derby
I think its great and gives the finals a cut throat feeling rather than 1 plays 2 three times in 4 weeks to see who wins.
You already get a major prize for finishing first so you have to prove yourself in a knock out competition to get the Golden Toilet Seat.
It will make the top spot even more important because you get to play the lowest ranked team in the top 6.
With Sydney or MV likely to finish 6th it will give the FFA another chance to make sure the GF is in Sydney or Melb. 🙂
A-League Draw: Glory to host Roar in opener
It shows the professional attitude of the Canberra football club and its manager, that’s all.
She can still play cricket, but Canberra want her to be a full time pro if whe wants to play football for them.
Some other club can accept her, but she won’t be available all of the time if it clashes with her cricket duties, so she is the one making herself less of a professional footballer, not Canberra.
Good looks don't lead to national selection for Perry

NSW great Elias says players deserve more
Getting excited now and looking forward to a few beers before the game.
Here’s stupid me thinking we’ve got a chance to finally beat them – here’s hoping.
State of Origin: courage finds its boundaries
Thanks mac, I know that, the spell checker must have corrected it to gallon without me noticing.
State of Origin: courage finds its boundaries
GWS will continue to get concessions and everyone is excited they have won a game, but they only beat GCS.
Front page of the age – really?
Is that front page news – the bottom team in the AFL comp won a game against the fellow bottom team.
Sure every team deserves what they achieve and they still have to win games whatever their concessions are.
Lets se how they finish up at the end of the season, before you give them more credit than they really deserve.
GWS Giants deserves more credit
Why did people think CCM could go over to Japan and beat Grampas that easily.
It was always going to be very difficult to even get a draw there.
They should have put away the chances and won their home game against them.
Arnold was naive to give up the SFC job because he thought CCM would make it to the next round of the ACL – they had little chance of progressing.

Did you notice how the commercial TV stations all featured Central Coast Mariners players with Craig Thompson, when they ran a story about Craig Thompson rorting the union, just to re-enforce that connection – soccer = bad.
Football's future has never looked more assured
That’s a bit unkind Philk.
That SFC rabble has been in the finals 5 times out of 7 and won the Premiership Plate and the A-League Championship twice.
Good luck to Arnie and CCM, but I don’t think Arnold was the right coach for us anyway – we will do better without him.
He just used us to get more money out of the CCM owners – he was never coming to Sydney.
Only Sydney remains on the A-League coaching carousel
Thanks TC for the translation.
There’s no doubt who the fans are supporting and its not the Serbian.
Surely his behaviour is contravening his contract conditions and bringing the cluh into disrepute and the player should be sacked immediately, just like the manager.
Sarcasm is the language of Serie A
Thanks guys,
I wasn’t aware of what was actually said to him at the time of writing, the articles only mentioned a “sarcastic applause”.
Still, I know its hard, but you need to have some level of restraint or you’ll end up getting sacked, the player should be too.
Sarcasm is the language of Serie A
No – football is what it is today because of all the dramas that get talked about all over the world.
In some countries where they play football, they haven’t even got electricty. let alone goal line technology.
Video technology needed to support football referees
Nice little article that sums it all up.

Aussie Rules,
what’s your take on why Melbourne didn’t get any finals games?
Seems odd to me too that Sydney got every finals game and Melbourne didn’t get any.
