Jeez I hate the wording of the article implying that” for the neutral fan Willemse’s moved slowed the game down” No it didn’t, itvwas the only bloody thing Rugbypass and the entire Twittersphere spoke about for days. It made the game amazing as itvwas already probably the fastest game see by humans in the last 30 years. France vs South Africa was hailed by most as the best game ever played and still there are “neutral” fans who wanted a faster game.

Scrums banned from free-kicks, 20-min red cards and shotclocks: World Rugby tries to speed up the game

If WR is serious about speeding the game up it should ban the Haka.

It is a blight ONLY for those fans of teams with weak scrums.

Here’s the thing. Never in my life have I heard someone seruously genuinely say the game takes too long. Usually it comes from the losing side as a way to deflect from their team’s performance. If a game takes 20 min longer then that is another beer with a mate, more suspense and more time to see your team win and soak up the atmosphere. If you are in a hurry and get upset by a longer game then you should rather go to the nursery and do some gardening. No idea who these so-called fans are that seem so upset by a longer game. But I can guess.

Maybe Australia will win a World Cup now.

The last time Australia were competitive against the All Blacks were when they had a couple of South African boys in the team.

The insurmountable problem facing Australian rugby in a doomed rivalry with New Zealand

Play one round of the Rugby Championship in London and see the Pounds roll in.

From World Cup glory to a financial precipice. Where did the $48 million go?

Fair comment Sheek. You only have to go to the 1995 WC final to see a festival of late tackles, knees on bodies, cheap shots and wild passes, many times forward. We also have to admit that rugby, at the highest echelon, Springboks, Ireland, NZ and France (hell even Portugal) are incredibly accurate compared to what the Wallabies served up in France. Could it be that Australian players are currently not as skillfull as they should be and that the refereeing and calls for law changes are a bit of a red herring?

Rugby is losing the long-term battle: What World Rugby must learn from Australia before it's too late

This year’s Six Nations was breathtaking rugby of the highest order. Literally every round had everything a fan could have asked for and should not be part of this discussion. The situation in Australia is interesting and reminds me of a time in South Africa when the infighting within the administration was front and centre in the media year in and year out. It was a very unhappy time for fans and players alike. A succession of poor or unsuitable coaches dragged the Springbok brand like a weighted anchor. Some had zero experience to coach at that level and it showed in the national team’s performance. Harry Viljoen, Carel du Plessis, Rudolf Strauli and Allister Coetzee are examples of coaches that lastes 12 months or less in their position with devastating effect on performance and morale. Political interference was at the order of the day.
The one thing that nobody in South Africa ever really worry about are the laws of the game. What the game desperately needed, and got in the duo of Nienaber and Erasmus, was a young, highly intelligent and passionate coaching group that understood that what a country want is for the system to be aligned to bring the best out of the available player resources. Politically everyone came on board with the vision and the result is back to back World Cups. It seems that this article is again going down the road of wanting to change the laws in order to effect performance level change. You might have a 100 problems in Australian rugby but the laws are not one of them.

Have you watched Chasing the Sun? Rassie said “don’t be an entitled doos like me”. He then went after the Boks after they lost to Ireland telling them they are a bunch of liars because of their lack of effort. You need good people to bring it together, does this exist in Australian rugby?

So why was Japan and Argentina dropped again?

'We have to keep the essence of what rugby is about': All Black legend's worrying words of warning

There are loads of reasons why rugby union now sucks in Australia compared to other codes:
1. Private school obsession
2. Eddie Jones
3. No Rassie Erasmus
4. Obsession with the mythical “Australian way”
5. Weak forwards
6. Woke politics
7. Bad corporate governance
8. A really, really poor grasp of what rugby people want
9. A big love of the corporate way.
10. The sacking of Dave Rennie

'We have to keep the essence of what rugby is about': All Black legend's worrying words of warning

Moment of silence for NZ and Australian rugby. This is a self-induced bout of depression brought about by corporate hubris. Amazing what happens if your administration thinks they are more important than the game. Curious that this level of introspection wasn’t around 2020 when NZ was sharpening its knives to shut South Africa, Japan and Argentina out of Super Rugby. Winners make grinners boys, this sad tale of “the game I loved for 50 years” malarkey is a sign of entitlement gone wrong. Ubuntu is a African saying that means ” we are because of others”. Can you recognize the spririt of NZ and Aus rugby in that light?

'We have to keep the essence of what rugby is about': All Black legend's worrying words of warning

Don’t worry Aussies, you blokes will be up and running in no time. We Saffers know a thing or two about bad governance. Just get yourself a Rassie, a maestro, a Mr Fix It to paper over the cracks with a couple of World Cups.

'Previous chairman can not be a scapegoat': First salvo fired in bid to spill the Rugby Australia board

I really hope that the Wallabies get it right. I had to click “see all” to find out what their current ranking is.

Joe Schmidt's search for a 'cold-hearted bastard' - and the issue he'll lose most sleep over

To ease their financial pressure I would urge the Wallabies to schedule an unashamed cashgrab of a game against the Springboks at Twickenham. Then play a 3 test away series against Japan and so on and so forth. The Wallabies is a strong brand, let it earn it’s way out of this hole.

The Wrap: The two massive power shifts shaping Australian and New Zealand rugby

Absolutely correct. Strong scrum wins games.

Aussie props and dominate shouldn’t be in the same sentence. Jokes aside, amazing to see so few Aus backline players in the mix.

Super Rugby's top 10 players: Aussie props dominate, but Kiwi sensation smiling on the summit

The players got off awfully light after the World Cup debacle. Aussies need to tour South Africa a bit to harden up maybe? Valentini deserves it, would love to have Pete Samu in the mix again.

'Fire in a lot of players’ bellies': Bruiser claims 'bittersweet' John Eales Medal, says RWC pain will 'motivate' Wallabies

Aussies, what do you guys REALLY think about Super Rugby these days? Better than before, you know, when you had the Japanese, Argies and Saffers involved? Do you guys prefer the intra-ditch format more?

'A bit deflating': Headaches for Waratahs after Reds trial thrashing, Brumbies win after Force miss post-siren kick

Good God, RA is a complete dogshow at the moment. Mind you, us Saffers we had 25 years of provincial infighting and political inteference before we just sobered up and gave dictatorial powers to one man who knew what he was doing. Haven’t heard a peep from SARU in 6 years. C’mon Aussies, find your Rassie!

Leaked document says RA out to 'destroy Super Rugby' and 'turn members against each other' as Rebels' pain comes to light

Regarding Brown, it has to be said that coaching the Springboks now is probably a bigger honour than coaching the All Blacks. Pulling the best in regardless of nationality is smart management. However, I do expect the All Blacks to be back with a bang this year.

Rugby News: Quade thinks Wallabies days are over, tug-of-war looms in Aussie rugby over talent, Boks snap up gun Kiwi coach

How many top 5 players, hell top 10, in their position in the world, does Aus have at the moment? Can’t think of one apart from Skelton if he wasn’t so lazy at international level.
Just cannot fathom how the Wallabies have fallen off the bus the past 10 years. Country’s gone soft.
