That worries me less.
IMHO opinion the difference between Oz and NZ is the lack of a strong player base in Oz brought about by issues that have been highlighted repeatedly in these forums over the last 5+ years.
I expect the ABs to bounce back in time with a strong coach.
It was obvious to every man and his dog that Fozzie was no such coach from the get go.
All that remains to be seen is whether Razor can make the jump to the big leagues. FWIW I think he probably can, but you never know until they give it a go.

The Wrap: With Wallabies done and dusted in 15 miserable days, who do we trust to take Australian rugby forward?

Yep, I think so.
They poached 2 excellent coaches and screwed them both over.
I doubt any more of our top tier talent will want to talk to them.
Maybe try giving John Mitchell a call? Might make you appreciate Eddie.

The Wrap: With Wallabies done and dusted in 15 miserable days, who do we trust to take Australian rugby forward?

Yeah, much the same as with Dingo.
There’s no point in bringing in NZ coaches if you’re going to undermine them.
It also sounds as if the players need to be put in their place also.

As a Kiwi lurker all I can say is that I don’t have a whole heap of faith that the ABs will go much farther.
That said, as poorly as I felt the Wallabies were going to do, I didn’t think they’d do THIS poorly.
At this point you have to fear for the future of rugby in Australia.

Certainly a possibility.

Allez, Allez! All Blacks suffer first RWC pool loss as France make huge statement, Fozzie remains upbeat

You get the players you select and develop. It’s called succession planning and Fozzie has not done enough of it.
You can’t sit there constantly picking the same team and assume someone else will do the hard yards to develop the next generation of talent.
This team has the smell of the Whetton brothers retirement home of 1991.

Allez, Allez! All Blacks suffer first RWC pool loss as France make huge statement, Fozzie remains upbeat

Here’s one.
Honestly not surprised and not especially disappointed either.
Fozzie is shit and always has been.
The team is poorly coached and selected.

Those predictions aren’t fearless, they’re Kamikaze!
Boks and Ireland to bow out and Wallabies in?
I’d be more comfortable predicting the ABs win the cup even after the beating they took.

10 fearless predictions for the 2023 Rugby World Cup: Boks, Ireland to miss semis as Wallabies to make last four

Agreed.
I can’t imagine picking the result of this one with the ABs taking a shellacking against the Boks.
Part of me wants the ABs to win. Part of me is scared that if they do they will reinstate Fozzy.

RWC Teams: Wallabies star axed, Hansen misses Ireland squad, England spring two surprises

Agreed.
If this is the standard of play that they take to the cup, they’ll be knocked out in the semis for sure.
The Wallabies were weak, I’ll disciplined leading to cards and suffered loss due to injury, so a victory by that margin is hardly amazing.

All Blacks smash Wallabies to seal Bledisloe AGAIN as Eddie's pain grows after devastating injury to star prop

Yes. Definitely one of those. 😁

All Blacks smash Wallabies to seal Bledisloe AGAIN as Eddie's pain grows after devastating injury to star prop

I don’t happen to think need some yellow cards and injury to beat a weakened Wallabies side by that margin bodes well for the All Blacks.

They’ve always had a depth problem, but even their top tier aren’t consistently world class any more.

'Gutted': Cheika's Pumas steal dramatic win to confirm Eddie's worst Wallabies fears

The Wallabies don’t really seem to have had the cattle necessary to be a consistently top tier team since before dingo took over.
However, surely they should be performing better than this.
I can’t stand Jones but FFS I hope the Wallabies pick up their game soon.

There is absolutely no guarantee that Razor is the right man for the job. You only find that out after they’ve had time to demonstrate results.
However, this result is not enough to redeem Fozzie IMO and I always felt he was given the role because he was part of “the club”.

'Absolute beast mode': All Blacks bash Boks with Frizell and Jordan on fire in stirring win

I’m just glad Fozzie has already been replaced otherwise they’d use this win as an excuse to extend his contract.

Piers is undoubtedly a cock, but this commentary seems like a smoke screen to excuse inexcusable behavior.
This seems to be the underarm bowling of our time. Perfectly legal and ethically bankrupt.

The Australian cricket team could learn a lot from Piers Morgan about ethics, integrity and humility

Yep.
He isn’t necessarily the right man for the job, as only time will tell.
However, is is an excellent choice and certainly better than Fozzy who as far as I’m concerned was never going to be suitable and probably got the job as part of the old boys club.

The GREATEST: Mo'unga, Robertson sign off as Super Rugby's finest as Crusaders edge Chiefs in classic final

It really bodes well for NZ rugby but perhaps not until Fozzy is gone.
The Waikato backs were glorious and certainly had the measure of the Crusader’s backs IMO.
I’ll discipline let them down and despite the talk of poor reffing, I didn’t see anything of concern there.
I do find the law that saw Waikato lose a man due to the head clash a bit ridiculous (what was he supposed to do?), but the ref applied the law as required.
I did pick the Crusaders to win, although I didn’t really care as long as a NZ team won ????.
However the way Waikato came storming back in the 2nd half was a revelation and it would not have been a miscarriage of justice at all if they had taken the win.

The GREATEST: Mo'unga, Robertson sign off as Super Rugby's finest as Crusaders edge Chiefs in classic final

In some ways it’s a shame the All Blacks won as it takes the pressure of Foster who needs to go IMO.

ANALYSIS: 'As good a quarter in Foster's reign' powers All Blacks to big win and lets coach breathe easier

Good on them for getting the win. A losing streak like that can quickly turn into a self fulfilling prophecy.
I’ve never thought much of Eddie Jones, he always seemed the Ozzie version of John Hart to me.

ANALYSIS: 'The silver lining is a mirage - England have lost their aura and confidence'

I think this is short term gain for long term loss.

Goodbye Giteau Law? RA set to scrap controversial rule

Ok, so I’m a kiwi and biased of course. But I’d much rather have my team for my team go down in a blaze of glory trying to win than go down in a whimper just trying to lose by a small margin.

MATCH REPORT: Rennie's Wallabies sent out to go big or die trying - it was the latter

Why on earth would you want to shield your teams from the level of competition required for them to measure themselves and improve?
This is equivalent to giving every kid a participation certificate IMO.

Why Australian rugby should go it alone

The Wallabies definitely showed improvement but the All Blacks were pretty appalling.
I don’t blame the ref, I blame the stupid rules. Neither of those were even close to justifying a red card.
