Que?

Slipper, Simmons and Hanson were the only QLDers playing and they performed their jobs admirably.

Questions need to be asked of Carter, Fardy, Kepu, Palu & Hooper. Palu and Hooper once again went missing when the heat was turned on by the AIGs.

Same old same old.

SPIRO: New Wallabies squad, same old players

How dare you question the golden boy!!!!

We need a 7 who plays in the 13 channel, not one who works hard in the rucks!!!

Hooper is changing the way 7s play the game, you see?!!?!

SPIRO: New Wallabies squad, same old players

Link doesn’t not like Foley. He just succumbed to NSWRU/ARU politics by giving into Beale’s demand of, ‘I start or I walk.’

To be honest I will stop supporting Link if he doesn’t remain underfeated for the rest of 2014.

Wallabies vs Springboks: The orphan stepchildren battle in Perth

Since he hasn’t pointed to any specific law changes besides points I don’t understand how you can infer that.

Also considering he has previously stated he won’t support NRC games, I don’t understand how he can make any assumptions on what has occurred.

Finally most people would’ve seen 2 games max. How you can draw conclusions from that sample size I do not know.

Law variations are the real killer of the NRC

Thinking that changes in points has forced the NRC to become some quasi touch football comp is inane considering high scores in many other leagues as shown below by Brett.

Sheek has pointed to no other rule changes and what skills they’re impacting.

I can only conclude that he hasn’t watched a game and is continuing to suffer from ‘grumpy old white man’ syndrome.

My assessment of the Brisbane v Sydney Uni game was the intensity was better than I expected, and the skill in both attack and defense was what I expected considering the short preparation time before round 1.

Law variations are the real killer of the NRC

You haven’t address my points.

The only rule changes He directly addressed were the points – which first you claimed he didn’t. Then you completely side stepped the lack of argument being made here.

What specific law changes will destroy skills and where is the evidence to support this.

Again high scoring games with weak defense are normal at this peck with underprepared and new teams.

I’d put money on Sheek not actually having seen a game of nrc yet.

Law variations are the real killer of the NRC

Why shouldn’t a team be penalized for having a weak kicker? If anything kicking is woeful in this country and these rules put a huge emphasis on the importance of guys taking those three points. If anything, that’s a good thing.

Law variations are the real killer of the NRC

Sheek was scathing of the second Test against the frogs, despite it being a hard fort forwards game.

Now he is scathing of the NRC, games he didn’t watch, because they’re too up tempo . This is despite the scores being in line with other comparable comps globally. I doubt he watches those comps too.

Some guys just like to moan, Brett

Law variations are the real killer of the NRC

Really?

“Are there eight-point tries in Test rugby? No. Are there two-point penalty goals and drop goals in Super Rugby? No.”

To be honest though, on second read I can’t actually work out what this rant is trying to achieve. So I understand you’re a bit confused.

What I took away was, the high scores due to rule changes won’t help develop players. But all you’ve got to do is go look at NPC and Currie Cup scores this year to see the folly in that argument. And to be honest I doubt he even watches those comps.

In all it’s a ranting raving poor article that doesn’t achieve much.

It’s +500 words of ramble without ever coming to an articulate head. Much like his previous NRC rant (linked above) which came down to, “I don’t like the team nicknames, so I won’t watch!”

Anyway I don’t think a 3rd tier is needed, but I enjoyed the first game and I’ll going out to Ballymore to watch more.

Why?

Because I enjoy and support rugby in this country. Unlike some bitter old men who don’t, just because a team is nick-named the ‘Stars.’

Law variations are the real killer of the NRC

Before you started to type this rant, did you actually stop, think, and have a look at some of the itm cup scores recently?

No – didn’t think so.

How about the Currie Cup?

Nup – didn’t look at those recent scores either.

Law variations are the real killer of the NRC

I’d say there were about 100 people under 18 in the crowd max. That’s including the four teams of u/7 kids who played at half time!! I saw two kids in BSHS uniform but that’s it really.

Looking forward to the Sunday games immensely!

A couple on golds in the Brisbane Spring sun – nothing better.

Brisbane City & Sydney Stars ensure NRC kicks off with a bang

half of Nudgee went? well there were very few kids in the crowd of 3,500.

I’d say you are spinning rubbish

Brisbane City & Sydney Stars ensure NRC kicks off with a bang

um what?

If a single club are so arrogant they think they can go it alone in a national comp, they deserve everything they get. I wouldn’t be surprised if they come last.

Really enjoyable game and it was great being there. Sydney Uni got shown up for what they are – a bully team in a weak comp.

Why was my comment not posted? Oh that’s right certain posters can slander.

Duane Vermeulen can hold his own with the best

Hansen has clearly forgotten that all Kiwis are awesomely humble….

Hansen doubts Wallabies can lift further

You sound like a bitter and immature school boy who has just been told his favourite basketball card isn’t that special.

Read hasn’t been playing well this year, probably due to injuries – get over it.

I’m often crucial of Palu, actually for most of his career I have been, but he is the better of the two right now. Get over it.

DV did have a belter on the weekend, and was better than both Palu and Read. Get over it.

Duane Vermeulen can hold his own with the best

Gunn is a great prospect.

ARC veterans look forward to doing it all again in the NRC

Parker is small, but he can take a hit and keep moving into contact. That’s a valuable attribute.

Should the Wallabies have changed their team for Bledisloe 2?

Good work with the Heavies on Sunday Scott. As a neutral I found it a scrappy, but enjoyable game. As a coach you must have been very frustrated but happy at the end.

Looking forward to seeing more of Gale and Parker in the future. Gale has had an amazing year and I think he might be a pro before too long.

Should the Wallabies have changed their team for Bledisloe 2?

Deans had a 5-0 record to begin his reign and that turned out amazing! Trying to appoint any blame or praise on a coach in his first few games is for fools.

So what are you?

Wallabies have the winning attitude

Top teams like Scotland and Samoa?

Wallabies have the winning attitude

Also, the all blacks have been playing off their defensive ability for 3 years now. The team that stops making errors and sorts out their second and third phase scrambling defense will be the team that over takes them. Australia is probably the closest at the moment – but that’s not to say they’ll go back to being dominant against the overrated Boks or better than a classy England team.

Wallabies have the winning attitude

Meh. They were too scared to win it last week – that’s a huge mental hurdle to overcome.

The positive was the defense in the first 25 minutes. The Deans era wallabies would’ve been down 20 points in that time under that pressure.

Wallabies have the winning attitude

Yeah but it’s been more then just the French series. It was the RC last year at the back end and on the EYOT your too, where Australia was playing some great rugby. Link had the same guys starting the entire time.

Kurindrani has done nothing wrong at 13 and has been giving us great go forward. AAC is brilliant but the back line really hums when he chimes in on an angle and a slight step.

The assumption is Beale is a like for like swap with Cooper. I don’t agree, but I can see the logic in that thinking. There is still no point in changing out the 13 and swapping the wings around.

Wallabies blow Bledisloe chance
